Champion mare Winx’s part owner Peter Tighe will head into Saturday weeks Caulfield Cup with the potential favourite for the race as well being rated as a leading Melbourne Cup chance.
Tighe who part owned Winx also part owns Finche who is currently the $8 favourite for the 2019 Caulfield Cup and second favourite at $11 for the 2019 Melbourne Cup.
Finche was purchased by the syndicate last year after the horse won the Prix De Reux in France and went on to run third in the Geelong Cup before a very credible fourth in the Melbourne Cup.
The Chris Waller trained galloper skipped the Autumn Carnival with connections option to target the horse solely at this years Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup and that decision looks like it has paid off with the horse returning in very good form and is likely to jump as favourite in Caulfield Cup odds before tackling his second Melbourne Cup.
