One savvy punter is in for a few sleepless nights leading up to the Melbourne Cup, with a massive $467,900 dollars riding on the race that stops the nation.
It all started back in the first week of October when GW from Melbourne put on a $100 multi spanning across four races during the Spring Racing carnival at Sportsbet.com.au.
First up he had Cox Plater winner Winx to win the Epsom Handicap, a request she dutifully fulfilled, paying $4.00.
Next GW picked Magic Hurricane to win The Metropolitan at a fixed price of $5.00.
Two legs down, two to go, and it was time for the longest leg of the multi, Mongolian Khan to win the Caulfield Cup. While Mongolian Khan would jump, and win as favourite, the savvy GW locked the price at $26 to win at the time of putting on his multi.
In the last and final leg, GW needs short-priced favourite Fame Game, to win the Melbourne Cup. And once again, despite being favourite, GW’s excellent foresight has seen Fame Game locked in at $9.00 to win.
