The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) today announced that two new directors, Michael Ramsden and Neil Wilson, will commence with the Club on 21 December 2012, when the Club’s Annual General Meeting is held.

Michael Ramsden brings a strong background in corporate finance and in working with a broad range of companies across many industries. Michael, a qualified lawyer, is the Managing Director of Terrain Capital Ltd and is a director on several public company Boards. Michael has had racing and breeding interests for many years, enjoying success with horses such as Count Ricardo, De Gaulle Lane, Niwot and Brew. His father, Andrew Ramsden, was a former Chairman of the VRC from 1998-2003.

Neil Wilson brings a strong commercial background and a deep understanding of technology. Neil is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Oakton Limited, a leading technology services company which employs over 1,000 people and is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Neil has had racing and breeding interests for over 15 years, enjoying recent success with Chasm.

VRC Chairman Michael Burn said: “The VRC welcomes the expertise and passion of Michael and Neil. The Club has an ambitious growth agenda and Michael and Neil will be major assets in helping the Club to further develop its strategies and business plans. Both Michael and Neil have been active VRC members and significant investors in racing.”

The two directors are additions to the current Board. In accordance with the VRC Constitution and By-Laws, directors Tim Poole, Paul Leeds and John O’Rourke have submitted themselves for re-election and will be deemed elected unopposed.
