Anthony Cummings is in two minds about running Fulfilled Promise at Rosehill on Saturday or setting her an early-season stakes race target.
The filly as among the acceptances for the Structaflor Yellowtongue Plate (1400m) at the season-opening meeting but the trainer is tempted to save her for the Listed Rosebud over 1200m a week later.
“The only decision we need to make is whether we go there on Saturday or wait for a stakes race the following Saturday,” Cummings said.
“I think she shows a fair bit of potential and she’s done really nicely since her last start.”
Fulfilled Promise wasn’t disgraced in some handy two-year-old races over the summer before breaking her maiden two starts ago with a midweek win at Warwick Farm.
She followed that with a third to Saturday’s rival Kimberley Star at Randwick on July 11 when Cummings felt a three-week break between runs took its toll.
“She had a little bit of time between runs last time and got to a heavy track at Randwick and that caught up with her the last 50 metres or so. She looked a winning chance at the furlong,” Cummings said.
