Golden Slipper winner Sepoy has drawn the inside gate for his first test against older horses in the Group One Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley.
The Darley colt will be one of eight runners in Friday night’s 1200m sprint along with star mare More Joyous, who will go into the feature first-up and has barrier four.
Former Hong Kong galloper Happy Zero fared well with gate two while Group One-winning sprinter Atomic Force has seven, one inside the Peter Moody-prepared Kulgrinda who has the outside draw.
The Manikato will usher in a big weekend of Group One racing with Super Saturday at Randwick and Turnbull Stakes day in Melbourne on Sunday.
