Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has installed Gai Waterhouse’s Driefontein as the $3.00 favourite for this Saturday’s $2 Million 2YO Magic Millions on the Gold Coast, with local runner Sizzling its closest rival at $3.80.
Gerald Ryan’s Amorino is on the third line of betting at $7.00 with the rest of the field paying $15 or more.
“It looks to be a three-horse race,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said. “Driefontein is your typical Gai Waterhouse runner. It’ll burst out of the gates, get to the front and run quick sectionals so she rightly starts as the favourite.”
“However, Sizzling’s closing sectionals at Doomben last time around were very impressive and he cannot be discounted.
“Amorino is the main threat to the top two and people are still talking about the unbeaten two-year-old’s impressive gallop at Rosehill earlier this week.”
Fundido is on the fourth line of betting at $15, followed by Alezan Thunder ($16), while Wyong Magic Millions winner Huss Amor, who is attempting to win the Magic Millions in just its second race, and No Looking back are at $17.
In the $1 Million 3YO Magic Millions, Safusa is the $3.80 favourite ahead of Happy Hussy ($6.00), Subarc ($7.00), Easy Running ($8.00) and Punch On ($8.50).
