Rock Alert finally showing his true potential with a breakthrough win at Taree yesterday. Hoping for more of the same today.
Sandown Race Six: Number Two Mr Chard
I’m very keen on laying Star Witness here. I think the added 100m first up is a concern. The extra journey brings Mr Chard right into contention. I think he is a forgotten horse in terms of the Australian Guineas but I think he is in with a great chance in that race and this one here. Took care of some handy horses towards the end of last prep and although the journey is a bit short for him, I expect him to be very strong at the end of this race compared to Star Witness.
Sandown Race Seven: Number Six Zauberin
Beautifully ridden by Dean Holland to score first up after a nasty fall on Melbourne Cup day. There is that query about racing flat second up but gee he was impressive last start. Rises to 1800m which he’ll relish, along with a firmer surface. He was unlucky not to snare a couple of country cups last time in. He can make amends with a win here.
Kensington Race One: Number One Braymont
Punters should start the day on a high with this Patinack Farm colt. Showed nice speed to lead at Warwick Farm before being collared late by two handy juveniles. He has that massive advantage of having race experience which none of his rivals have. Drawn well so expect the Pumper to have him on the speed and in a race with not much depth, this Nadeem two-year-old can win at start number two.
