Saturday metro racing in WA this weekend will take place at Pinjarra for a bumper nine event program for Mandurah Cup Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (3) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race One (15:45) : Programmed Property Services Plate Plate 1100m:

Back Me: 4 Paradise Square (Bet Now: $9.00) is a gelding that is on debut here for the in form Ben Pearce yard. This son of Planet Five comes here off the back of a sharp trial win at Bunbury last Thursday when winning comfortably and running time. This is a pretty thin two year old race so I think he doesn’t have to improve much from the trial to measure up.
Big Danger: 3 Epic Grey (Bet Now: $4.40) is a Wicked Style gelding on debut for the in form Lindsey Smith stable. He hadn’t been seen in public prior to a couple of weeks back where he won a 400m trial at Belmont. You really can’t make much of those short trials, but from what I saw, he looked to go about his business nicely and is in the right yard.
Long Shot: Justin Warwick will produce first starter 7 Disny (Bet Now: $8.50) here and she looks a chance. Had a quiet hit out in her first trial behind Epic Grey before going much better last Thursday at Bunbury when second to Paradise Square. Stable have a tidy record with their debutantes and she has enormous scope.

Race Two (16:25) : Mandurah Hyundai Maiden 1200m:

Back Me: 4 Streets Of London (Bet Now: $5.00) is a talented gelding that is first up for the Warwick yard after formerly being with Team Williams. Performed well when trained with that stable but couldn’t quite crack it for a maiden win. Trial leading up to the resumption was sharp to the eye and he finds a very winnable race.
Big Danger: 5 Faulty (Bet Now: $4.00) is trained by the in form Steve Wolfe yard who started odds when resuming at Albany a couple of weeks back where he showed good early toe to lead and gave a really good kick when asked for the effort by Faithful but his condition just gave out late. Should take good improvement off that and rates highly.
Long Shot: 8 Staunton (Bet Now: $11.00) resumed over 1200m at Bunbury a tick over two weeks ago and gee he was a real eye catcher, making up a stack of ground to finish just off Foxella in a tidy return. Looks well placed here second up and if he can sit closer in the run, he will go close to knocking this field off.

Race Three (17:05) : Bunbury Apartment Motel Plate 1000m:

Back Me: 1 Dainty Tess (Bet Now: $3.50), as I keep saying week in week out, is a ripping filly for Dan Morton who always busts her gut every start, as we saw a couple of weeks ago at Ascot against her own age where she had a nice sit behind the leader but didn’t appear to like racing in the middle of runners when third to Atacama Sky. She will take some beating here I think.
Big Danger: 6 Cool Knight (Bet Now: $5.00) is a smart gelding that is first up here for Team Williams. He showed good promise in his first prep during the early part of the Spring, winning impressively on debut before tiring next start and then tipped out. Quiet trial last week at Bunbury but stable have got a great record when they produce runners fresh.
Long Shot: 7 Prize Catch (Bet Now: $6.00) had some solid form behind him from the Winter prior to resuming over this track/distance on Boxing Day where he looked in a bit of trouble halfway home but once he put his mind to the task, he went right on with it and was quite impressive. More depth here, but I think he can measure up.

Race Four (17:44) : Pinjarra Chemmart Pharmacy Graduation Plate 1400m:

Back Me: 3 Gatting (Bet Now: $3.90) is a talented gelding who has been outstanding overall this prep. He stepped up to the big boys last start over 1500m at Ascot where he got back in the run and was seemingly never a winning threat, but gee the final 150m he just savaged the line and ended up drawing clear. Back to 1400m is the obvious query, but he is very promising.
Big Danger: 5 General Hudson (Bet Now: $3.50) is an in form galloper for the Durrant/Miller yard. He ran over 1400m at Ascot a tick over two weeks back where he sat on speed and kicked on quite strongly when asked for the effort by Azzopardi. Looks to be a bit of depth to this field but I think he can measure up.
Long Shot: 1 Lord Ludlow (Bet Now: $14.00) can be a hard horse to trust but I think he is a massive chance here. He ran over 1500m at Ascot a fortnight back and just didn’t have the best of luck in the straight when appearing to have something to offer behind Gatting. Can certainly beat these with his best. Just needs better luck.

Race Five (18:20) : Outkast Hire Graduation Handicap (1MW) 1200m:

Back Me: 5 Celebrity Dream (Bet Now: $2.25) was well backed late when resuming over 1200m at Ascot where she had the charmed run behind the tempo and loomed to win the race but given she was fresh, she just lacked the killer punch to finish them off. Should improve big time off that here and is one of the better bets on the program.
Big Danger: 3 Disco Metal (Bet Now: $4.60) put together two very impressive wins together to kick off the prep before going to the race mentioned above that Celebrity Dream contested and did an enormous job from the back to run a close up fourth to Red Paddy. Should get ideal cover here and ambush late. Major threat.
Long Shot: 13 Radiant Girl (Bet Now: $5.00) takes on the older horses here but looks a live threat after racing over 1200m at Bunbury just over a fortnight back where she was ridden a test just off the speed before taking the cutaway and dashing through to get the job done. Right down in the weights and should get a lovely sit nearer the tempo.

Race Six (18:55) : Early Bird Bait Rockingam Graduation Handicap (1MW) 2000m:

Back Me: 1 Grindabella (Bet Now: $15.00) is a handy stayer for the Fred Kersley yard who comes to this race off the back of a strong on speed effort over this track/distance on Boxing Day where he ran along at a genuine tempo and gave a good kick but was caught late when a close up third to Beg To Differ. Much better with a sit IMO, so he can bounce back.
Big Danger: 12 Royal Attraction (Bet Now: $4.80) looks the clear threat here. This mare ran over 1800m at Ascot last time out where she got back in the ruck before peeling clear and finishing off her race nicely to run a close up second to in form galloper Macavity. Confident she can turn the tables here and Pike steers.
Long Shot: 11 Lolong (Bet Now: $12.00) also comes through that Boxing Day race here where he sat off speed in the run and finished off his race with purpose to run a close up second to Beg To Differ. He will get a genuine speed in front of him again, so he has to rate as a definite winning threat.

Race Seven (19:35) : L Jeffery Accountants Handicap (66+) 1600m:

Back Me: 5 Sasso’s Circus (Bet Now: $3.70) has been given a 24 day freshen up since racing over the Ascot mile where he was given a sweet steer in transit by Pike, who had him parked near the tempo before getting the cutaway and dashing clear. Little break between runs is no issue and Pike remains on, so he ticks alot of boxes here. The one to beat.
Big Danger: 3 Gloryland (Bet Now: $2.80) is a horse in ripping form at the moment for the Parnham yard and looks a leading contender after racing over 1500m at Ascot last Saturday where he ran along in front and gave them something to chase, but he just felt the pinch late when grabbed by Point. Not as much depth here, and he’ll take some running down.
Long Shot: 2 Juicing Carrots (Bet Now: $6.00) resumed over 1400m at Bunbury a tick over two weeks back and was ridden a treat by Dan Staeck, who had the horse in the charmed position just off the speed and once he clicked the horse, he sprinted and won quite impressively. Performed well in town the prep prior, so he can measure up here for sure.

Race Eight (20:15) : Avalon Sail Co Mandurah 100 Club Cup 1400m:

Back Me: 8 Pinzu (Bet Now: $3.00) had been a bit of a tease this time in, but he put that all behind him with a dominant win over 1400m at Ascot a fortnight back where the tempo was against him and he was off the bit before the turn, but he picked up late and savaged the line to win with a fair bit of ease. Looks really well placed here, especially with Pike jumping back aboard.
Big Danger: 9 Settlers Creek (Bet Now: $5.00) is on the seven day turnaround after racing over 1500m at Ascot last Saturday where he was ridden beautifully near the speed by Troy Turner but in the process he gave the perfect drag up to Pounamu, who pounced once he peeled and eventually wore down Settlers Creek. Back to 1400m is a tick, as is the drop in depth.
Long Shot: 3 Express Service (Bet Now: $81.00) hasn’t done a great deal in three runs this time in, but this is the sort of race where he could easily bob up in. He ran over the mile at Ascot a fortnight back where he ran last behind Django, but that race carried far more depth than what he faces, plus he does have a fab record at Pinjarra. Knockout chance at odds.

Race Nine (20:50) : Magic Millions WA Ladies Day February 11 Handicap (1MW) 1200m:

Back Me: 4 Tommy Who (Bet Now: $3.10) ran over this trip at Ascot three weeks back where he was ridden to perfection on speed by Pike, who controlled things from the front and gave nothing a look in to win quite comfortably. Form out of that has held up with the runner up racing well again and the third placegetter winning next start. Draws wide, but I’ll leave that in the capable hands of Pike.
Big Danger: 2 Key To Fame (Bet Now: $3.50) ran over 1200m at Ascot two weeks ago where he had a nice just off the speed and chased hard all the way down the straight when a close up second to Red Paddy, who of course finished behind Tommy Who, so that form is easy to tie in. Draws a lovely gate and stable is firing.
Long Shot: 15 Twelve Rounds (Bet Now: $19.00) has been given a five week freshen up since failing over 1200m at Bunbury where he attempted to lead all the way but tired late behind Big Caroline, who has run well in town since. He is lethal when produced when produced fresh. It’ll be interesting to see if there is a market push.
