A ten event program has been set down for Morphettville Parks this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out seven metres for the entire circuit.

3 Norse Warrior (Bet Now: $2.05) looks the safe option. Son of Royal Meeting for Phillip Stokes that has had three jumpouts to get ready, the latest seeing him win at Pakenham where he found the outside fence and moved well when asked for the effort by Stackhouse. This race looks even and he does appear to have talent.

4 Oldpop (Bet Now: $18.00) is a son of Sir Prancealot for Grant Young that is on debut off the back of a trial win at Strathalbyn last week. He had the suck run behind the leader before angling off the back for clear air and he went through his gears late to win and win nicely. Keen to see how he goes.

5 The Highlander (Bet Now: $31.00) ran second to Oldpop in the Strathalbyn trial from last week where he led and seemed to move well enough but was run down late by stablemate Oldpop. Being out of Highland Reel, he should appreciate more ground, so watch the market and see what it does.

11 Zenacity (Bet Now: $1.85) seems the straight bat play for Nick Ryan in what looks an open contest. This girl is first up, having not raced since Aug 11 when back and working home well late in the piece behind Cinque Ponte. She has jumped out well for the return and gets Nunes to steer.

4 In That Mode (Bet Now: $13.00) is an improving type for Clarken/O’Shea. He debuted on Oct 26 over 1050m on the course proper here when back in the run and made up some headway but was never really threatening but far from disgraced in defeat behind Divino Cavallo. Fitter and up in trip, he takes beating.

13 Keyman (Bet Now: $51.00) is a Jon O’Connor trained gelding that is first up. His last run came on July 6 at Gawler when racing over 1500m when down the track behind Hard Prince. He has been given a decent break and the trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging.

2 Walk Like An Angel (Bet Now: $3.60) is three weeks between runs for Andrew Gluyas since racing over this track/distance when near the speed and she tried hard but just lacked the killer blow to put them away when third to Global Turn. I think with a more patient steer, she’ll be more effective.

4 Hard Prince (Bet Now: $9.00) looks ready to go first up for Team Jolly. He is fresh, having not raced since July 27 on the course proper here when back off the speed and seemingly getting a decent enough run in transit but couldn’t quite finish the race off when down the track behind A Samurai Mind. Liked his recent trial win at Strathalbyn and appears ready to go.

3 Braveman’sgame (Bet Now: $10.00) is an interesting runner. He hasn’t been sighted since Sep 21 when a touch on the plain side here when resuming, finishing down the track behind Nurys. He has been hit and throughout his career but has talent and this isn’t a strong race.

8 Misludi (Bet Now: $4.50) is four weeks between runs for Phillip Stokes since a win on the course proper where she got wide with cover before angling wider and let down with purpose late to win and win well. She does tend to race best on the fresh side and in a fast run 1000m, I can see her finishing over the top.

6 Pure Bliss (Bet Now: $2.50) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Strong winner over 1050m first up on the course proper here before going to The Valley when wide no cover on speed and just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Fickle. Better run in transit, she takes beating.

3 My Ruby (Bet Now: $9.00) is a Francis/Kent trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since June 15 at Murray Bridge when down the track behind Klabel. Looks to have trialled up well enough for the return and does get Nunes to steer.

2 Arugamama (Bet Now: $2.70) is finding it hard to win but she does appear well suited here. She ran two weeks ago in the Skybeau Final where she tried hard from off the speed but just couldn’t quite get there when fourth to Tippa, beaten over two lengths. Good record on the Parks track and finds a winnable race.

1 Yuri Royale (Bet Now: $6.00) is on the seven day back up after a win over 1950m here last Saturday, getting the beaut run in transit behind the speed before angling clear and in a driving finish, he was too good, just. The rise back up in trip should be fine and this isn’t a strong contest.

5 Montepulciano (Bet Now: $10.00) comes through the Tippa race from two weeks back on the course proper, the Skybeau Final. He got back in the run and tried to make a run but couldn’t quite sustain it and just felt the pinch late. Better set up here and the depth isn’t as deep.

2 Old Time Rock (Bet Now: $5.50) for me. He ran over 955m at The Valley last time out where he was badly held up behind tired runners when having something to offer when fourth to Grand Larceny, beaten over a length. If the breaks go his way here, he can take this out for sure.

9 Anotherhouse (Bet Now: $5.50) is a Michael Hickmott trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since June 29 over this track/distance when struggling on the bog track behind a talented horse, Lingani. Has been accepted/scratched a few times wanting to find the right race and this looks a suitable kick off point.

4 Bristler (Bet Now: $5.50) is a Richards/Moyle trained gelding that is first up and capable with his best. His last run came over 1050m on the course proper back in October when doing too much work on speed and just felt the pinch late. He is good enough to win. Just watch the market.

1 Riverplate (Bet Now: $3.90) takes beating here. He ran in the Happy Trails Final two weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was quite good in defeat I thought behind Jack The Lad. Has run well at the track/distance previously and strikes a very winnable race.

5 Jenkins (Bet Now: $6.50) is three weeks between runs since a dominant track/distance win where he gave them a start and a beating and was quite dominant the way he put them away to win impressively, continuing his love affair with the Parks track. Leading contender.

4 Wild Imagination (Bet Now: $8.00) is a definite chance. He comes through the Happy Trails Final when off the speed and seemed to have his chance but he battled away and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Back to the Parks track, which he likes, and with a more positive ride, he’ll be hard to get past.

2 Star Sirius (Bet Now: $3.70) looks to have returned well and is in for a big prep. She resumed over 1200m at Balaklava where she got back to near last in the run but came with a well timed run and launched late to get up and win. Off that win, she’s going to take beating here in what looks a winnable race.

5 Hateech (Bet Now: $35.00) has a strong finale on her and this isn’t a deep race. She resumed last week at Gawler where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up good ground in defeat behind Limbering. Trialled well at Oakbank on Monday to tune up and she’ll be strong late.

8 Montana State (Bet Now: $126.00) is one that can be included in exotics. Freshened up since a maiden win on Melbourne Cup Day at Mildura where he looked a good thing on paper and got the win. Runs prior were solid enough to my eye and has a good finale on him. Knockout hope.

5 Sixteen Reasons (Bet Now: $3.00) is flying for Clarken/O’Shea but just can’t quite crack it for a win. She got too far out of her ground in the Gytrash Final two weeks ago but really liked her finale in defeat when a close up fourth to Sir Sway. Has that 1200m run under the belt, gets in well after the claim, hard to beat.

3 Jacks On Ice (Bet Now: $5.00) does tend to race best when he can lead so if he gets front end control, he will take running down. He didn’t find the front two weeks ago in the Gytrash Final and that pretty much sealed his fate when down the track behind Sir Sway. Saves his best for the Parks track, and with the lead, he takes beating.

8 Neodium (Bet Now: $8.50) is a veteran for Phillip Stokes that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since taking out his second Birdsville Cup, lapping up the dirt track in a dominant display. He is capable on the grass and he can sprint well fresh, but has trialled nicely for the return. Watch the market.

5 Merchant Boss (Bet Now: $8.50) is a ripper for Travis Doudle and comes through the Country Mile Final a fortnight back on the course proper when giving them a start and a beating, making a sustained run to finish best in a good effort. He’ll be strong late, hard fit and in form, he appeals.

1 Delightful Shecky (Bet Now: $4.40) will love dropping back to this level after contesting the Gytrash Final where he was outclassed but from disgraced in defeat. 1400m looks ideal as well as dropping back to this level.

2 Surprise Coming (Bet Now: $7.50) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Nov 9 when racing over this track/distance and was in restricted room so he had a bit against him but was still good in defeat behind Easy Campese. Frustrating to follow, but he is good enough.
