2 Ritratto (Bet Now: $7.50) has a good second up record so expecting big improvement from the first up run, which came behind Night Passage two weeks ago where he paraded like he would need the run and that is how it panned out behind the in form McEvoy runner. Fitter, an improved showing is definitely on the cards.

1 Farooq (Bet Now: $2.50) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since New Years Day in the Chester Manifold where he just found the 1400m at that level a bit sharp behind Lighthouse, a ripping mare, so the form is A1. This might be a prep run for something during the Carnival, but he is the class runner.

5 Street Life (Bet Now: $6.00) might well be okay at 1400m. They rode him cold in the Night Passage race from a fortnight back and it worked because he hit the line quite well I thought when fifth to Night Passage, beaten just over two lengths. If he can maintain that sort of effort here, he’ll take beating.

Keen on 5 Lord Morton (Bet Now: $6.00). Was keen on him when he debuted at Morphettville back in December. Market wanted him late and he ran well, but had to settle for second to Rushaway Lad, who finally ran up to the way he trialled prior to the debut. Trial was so so, but he looks a talent.

14 Lockdown Sally (Bet Now: $3.10) has been runner up in both career outings and is clearly knocking on the door. Three weeks between runs since racing at Morphettville when behind the speed and loomed to win but couldn’t quite get the win when second to Samesyn. Blinkers on now and a recent trial was strong.

8 Two Times Twice (Bet Now: $7.00) should be strong at the end. Ran over 1200m at Strathalbyn last time out where he got a fair way back in the run and worked home okay without threatening behind Calla Dream. He might want further, but if he’s within range, he’ll take beating.

8 Philonize (Bet Now: $2.60) has brilliant early speed and that should her in good stead for this. Resumed two weeks ago on the Parks track where she led and copped serious heat on speed, just feeling the pinch at the end when nabbed late by Larkham. Right down in the weights, she’ll lead and give an almighty sight.

1 Brimarvi Vehero (Bet Now: $5.50) is a beauty for Sam Burford. He has been strong in two runs back from a break, resuming with a third to the quality sprinter Tequila Time before racing over 1000m on the Parks track a few weeks ago where he surged hard late to nab Spanish Heirloom on the peg. Hard fit now, he’ll take beating.

2 Star Hills (Bet Now: $26.00) is a talented son of Magnus for Bob Richard that resumes. This guy hasn’t raced since October 2 on the Parks track where he had a suck run behind the speed and was there to threaten, but didn’t fire a shot in the straight and was plain. His best is certainly good enough. Just want a market push.

3 Oath Of Omerta (Bet Now: $4.00) is racing in a real purple patch at the moment for Michael Hickmott. Put together a couple of sharp wins on the bounce, including a win here. Last start was on the Parks track when on speed and he battled on strongly when second to Busker’s Ballad. I think with a more conservative steer and a bunny to chase, he’ll be more effective.

4 Busker’s Ballad (Bet Now: $5.00) is a Ryan Balfour trained gelding that potentially could sneak into an Adelaide Cup with a win here. Ridden a treat by Pannell a fortnight back on the Parks track, he knuckled down strongly in the straight and surged the final 50m or so to win well. He’ll have no issue with 2500m and stable is in form.

8 Turf Man (Bet Now: $19.00) will be fine at 2500m and I think is a must for multiples. He ran in the Busker’s Ballad race from two weeks back on the Parks track and he worked to the line pretty well, finishing third. He doesn’t win out of turn but has a solid track/distance record. First four contender.

6 Shesabomb (Bet Now: $8.00) is a Smart Missile filly for Team McEvoy that is on debut. This girl has had a couple of jumpouts to get ready for start one, the latest one at Terang where she was on speed and looked to move well when second. Gate one, stalks the speed and think she’ll be strong late.

1 Sghirripa (Bet Now: $5.00) looks a nice horse for Shane Oxlade. Market wanted to take him on two weeks ago on debut and while he didn’t win, I thought he ran a brave race on speed when copping pressure and was only run down the final couple of strides. 1200m should be fine and he looked too good at the jumpouts to dismiss off one run.

5 Rockstar Meggsy (Bet Now: $5.50) is a daughter of Star Witness for Jon O’Connor that won on debut on the Parks track a fortnight back. I really liked the way she knuckled down late because the race was there to be run but she found and surged hard late to win. 1200m here looks fine and she should be strong at the end.

2 Yulong Justify (Bet Now: $3.70) is a progressive animal for Team McEvoy that comes here as a last start winner after bolting up on the Parks track a few weeks back where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted, albeit in a race much weaker than this, but stable has to be respected and he maps super.

9 Another Award (Bet Now: $3.20) looks to have returned in pretty good order. Resumed over 1000m two weeks back on the Parks track and worked to the line strongly, just missing out on picking up All Banter. Yet to win second up but has been close around the mark, so she commands respect.

7 Strike Eagle (Bet Now: $35.00) is a Team McEvoy trained three year old that does have 1400m form as a juvenile so I think he’ll be okay with the trip. Tough on speed win two back over 1250m before going to 1300m when on speed again and showing some fight, but was no match late for Starsongari. I think if he’s ridden with somewhat of a sit, 1400m should be okay and is a key threat.

6 Bluestone Lane (Bet Now: $16.00) is worth a speck at a price here. Resumed over 1000m at The Valley a few weeks ago and I thought worked home well late, just running out of puff when fourth to Midwest. Like him up to 1200m and a subsequent jumpout was a good piece of work.

4 Quietly Discreet (Bet Now: $2.20) is a lightly raced mare for Phillip Stokes that looks loaded with talent. Market wanted her when she resumed on the Parks track and once she landed in a plum spot, it was just a matter of getting clear and once she did, she made a mess of them. Hard to beat once again.

7 Munster (Bet Now: $15.00) should be suited up to 1200m with the run under the belt. He resumed over 1100m at Morphettville a few weeks ago when wide no cover for the trip but despite that hard run, he was there to threaten. Condition just gave out when fourth to Gottaluvjimmy. Fitter and up in trip, he appeals.

3 Deepstrike (Bet Now: $3.00) looks to be in for a good prep for the Price/Kent camp. Resumed in a sit/sprint at Pakenham over the mile. Left flat footed when the sprint went on but last 100m or so was the best part of his race. He’ll eat up the extra 200m, big track, upside, the claim…all points to him.

10 Prince Of Fences (Bet Now: $5.00) is progressive and heading in the right direction for Michael Hickmott. It was an average bunch he faced at Strathalbyn last time but he still put them away with absolute ease, spanking them by over six lengths. Stable is just starting to find its groove again so this horse has to be respected.

9 Neva Doubt Us (Bet Now: $101.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. Resumed over 1800m last Saturday at Morphettville when back to neat last in the run and just never got into the contest, but was okay at the end without threatening behind Morty. Home track, fitter, he’ll be okay late and can sneak a first four spot.

16 In The Darkness (Bet Now: $3.40) is potentially on a path towards the SA Oaks for Michael Hickmott. Resumed in the Yuri Royale race from a few weeks back where she was there to win I thought but first up, just think her condition gave way. Better for that run, she can take this out.

This looks a straight forward race for 3 Sky Call (Bet Now: $5.50). Jump, bounce on the bunny, lead and be strong late. That was the scenario for her on the Parks track three weeks ago and the result was indeed a strong win in a 68. Now back to 60 grade, she gets in well after the claim and I think she’ll take beating from the front.

5 Rapid Raiser (Bet Now: $10.00) hasn’t fired a shot in three previous second up efforts, but it was hard not to like his first up run, which came in the Ambidazzle race from Feb 19 on the Parks track. He got back to near last in the run and worked to the line well late in a good effort. Has run well here before and will be strong late.

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 8 Philonize

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 6 Bluestone Lane
