Adam Page gives us his best bets for tonight’s racing at Canterbury racecourse and Moonee Valley racecourse.
Canterbury Race Four: Number Six Torino
This bloke has had the one start for a win at Wyong. That win came off the back of a huge betting plunge which was successful. He did plenty wrong that day so he’ll improve dramatically on his debut. He has drawn barrier six but Corey will fire him out and have the son of Lonhro near the speed or just off it and on ability alone, the colt should prove too good. The Hawkes team is in form and they look to have a real handy horse here.
Canterbury Race Seven: Number Five Strategic Maneuver
It’d be a marvelous training effort by Gai if this horse was to win first up. Has had the lone start for a comfortable victory way back in 2008. The horse has had hoof problems and hind leg lameness but for Gai to persist tells me she thinks this horse has loads of ability. Looked awesome in a recent barrier trial at Warwick Farm and he’ll be tuned for a first up win.
Moonee Valley Race Three: Number Four Elusive King
I have some time for this horse from the Moody camp. Bumped into Dubawi Gold first up at Sandown and that horse looks well above average. Then dropped back to maiden grade at Seymour and did the job well to record a comfortable victory. He deserves another chance In metro company and he still has scope for improvement while the others are at or near the end of their preparation.
