The Parks track at Morphettville will play host to a nine race card on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

6 Kristobel (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is an Overshare filly for Team McEvoy that is on debut. The stable are based in Victoria these days and since that has happened, they have been rank with runners in SA, but this looks a thin 2YO race as a whole, she has jumped out well on a couple of occasions to get ready and Vorster is booked. Market watch for sure because I think she has talent.

Market watch for sure because I think she has talent.

Danger

2 Dubenenko (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a Chris Bieg trained filly that is first up and I think is dangerous here. She had a three run Spring prep and was pretty good on a couple of occasions, the latest seeing him run third in the Ballarat 2YO Magic Millions. Jumpout work has been quite strong and despite drawn wide, should slide forward and prove hard to beat.

Long Shot

3 Harleen (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a Written Tycoon filly for Chris Bieg that resumes. She had a two run prep in the Spring, winning on debut in style over 900m at Murray Bridge before going to Flemington on Oaks Day when outclassed in the Ottawa behind Charm Stone. Seems a jump/run type and that is suited to the Parks 1000m, especially in a 2YO race. Hard to beat.

Race 2. (13:22) Croser Maiden Plate 1250m

8 CararadaΒ (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) will need luck from the gate but he does bring the best form. He ran in a strong Strathalbyn maiden last time and worked to the line strongly late in the piece to run second to Dunmaghlas, who won again last Saturday, so the form reads very well and with luck from the wide draw, I think on form, he is the one they have to beat.

Danger

2 Captain Joolian (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a Darryl Dodson trained gelding that resumes. He’s only had one career outing, which came at Morphettville in October when raw and new to the caper when down the track behind Cold Case. He’s looked sharp in a couple of trials to get ready for his return and this isn’t a strong maiden, so I think he rates highly against this lot.

Long Shot

3 Divine Brew (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is in with a shout. The trials were so so hence why he was $51+ when debuting over 1200m at Strathalbyn but despite that massive price, he ran a super race from near the speed when third to Whenthedeelingsdun. Not sure how strong that maiden is but the debut effort was full of merit, certainly good enough to be competitive here.

Race 3. (13:57) Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (72) 2400m

Back Me

3 Darlamax (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) looks suited back up to 2400m for Andrew Homann. He ran over 2100m at Gawler two weeks ago where he was near the speed throughout and tried his guts out but just lacked the change up speed to go with them late when second to Bundle Of Fun, who came out and won the Strathalbyn Cup on Sunday, so the form has been ticked off and getting to 2400m should see him prove hard to beat.

Danger

To me, if 1 Taramansour (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) was going any good, the stable would have found Vorster to ride given he usually rides for the stable when they come to SA. In saying that, he does get the claim for Opperman and has good upside being only third. Contested a strong race at The Valley last time and just didn’t have the grounding to finish the race off behind Ain’tnodeeldun. Big improver back in a race like this.

Long Shot

6 Gmork (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) seems a real one batter for Michael Hickmott so 2400m here should be ideal. His last couple of runs have come at Oakbank, the maiden win coming last time over 2150m where he looked the winner from a long way out but just has no turn of foot and the win was narrow despite it always being in control. 2400m is fine, down in the weights and will be strong at the end, plus has upside/progression.

Race 4. (14:32) GH Mumm Handicap (64) 1950m

Back Me

3 Perfect Illusion (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has more upside than most and will love getting to 1950m. The last run was over the mile at Murray Bridge where he got a fair way back in the run and was never really a factor but worked to the line pretty well late in the piece behind Lacrima. Like him up to 1950m and although he might want one more, the last effort was certainly good enough to take this out.

Danger

8 Kyshaka (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has been racing well for Peter Hardacre and I do think getting back to 1950m can see her prove hard to beat. Put together a couple of placings in town and was good each time. She then went to 2100m at Gawler two weeks ago and she tried hard but I think the trip just found her out, as well as the sit/sprint set up behind Bundle Of Fun. Like her back to 1950m and should be strong late provided there is petrol left in the tank.

Long Shot

5 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a stayer so back to 1950m is interesting but her best is clearly good enough. Ran over 2000m at Murray Bridge last time out where she was near the speed throughout but she folded quite badly and failed to fire a shot, finishing tailed off behind Lake’s Folly. Back in a moderate race like this, I wouldn’t totally dismiss her.

Race 5. (15:12) Grand Syndicates Handicap (82) 1400m

Back Me

Back to 1400m and fitter, I want to give 5 Saskatoon (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) another chance. He was a month between runs when racing over the Murray Bridge mile last time out where he was a notable betting drifter. Attempted to lead throughout and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite finish it off when third to Lacrima. The end of 1400m is the knock with him but the 1600m run should toughen him up.

Danger

Fitter and up to 1400m are two big ticks for 2 Zoulah (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00). This mare resumed over 1000m on the Parks track where she paraded like she would need the run and that is how it panned out but was solid to the line late in the piece when fourth to Larimer Street. Straight to 1400m I do like and drawn to sit just off the speed, she appeals.

Long Shot

4 Here Comes Lenni (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is in with a shout here I feel. First run for Stephen Theodore came two weeks back over 1200m at Gawler and despite being a rank outsider and being a 2000m+ horse, I thought he ran a super race in defeat behind Secret War, sticking on quite gamely to run third. Good second up record and although he might want one more, the return was very encouraging.

Race 6. (15:52) Cam Croese Bucks Handicap (76) 1000m

4 Alpha Flight (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a smart three year old for Team Jolly that resumes. He is a short course specialist that is first up, having not raced since Cup Day at Flemington when far from disgraced down the straight behind Renosu. He returns back home and despite taking on the older horses, this race is lacking depth as a whole, so he doesn’t need to be a star to take this out. Think he’s the way to go.

Danger

3 Fighting McLaren (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) tends to race best on the fresh side so five weeks between runs for him leading into this I do like. He ran over 1050m on the course proper here where he attempted to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but couldn’t quite finish it off, nabbed late by Aston Rapova. Is a track/distance winner, can sit forward and prove hard to run down.

Long Shot

2 Alleboom (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is capable with his best. He hasn’t raced since December 31 on the course proper here when on speed throughout over 1050m in a field of four and battled late, finishing last, beaten under three lengths by Aston Rapova, who ran well I thought last Saturday in the Durbridge. He has gone right off the boil recently but I am hoping the mini break and a freshen up can see him bounce back.

5 Eaglelou (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) hasn’t done much wrong in an eight start career and rates highly in a race like this IMO. He ran over the mile at Murray Bridge last time out where he was doing a bit of work from the tricky gate but despite that, he kept finding the line and was good in defeat when second to the in form Exalted Fire. That was his first run in around six weeks so he has plenty of room for improvement.

Danger

Back to 1550m I do like for 2 Fulton Street (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00). He ran over 1700m last start at Penola where I thought they rode him way too hard on speed and it left him a tired horse late in the piece, finishing just over four lengths away from Wild Willy. Not the best of records on the Parks track but can roll forward and the depth here is nowhere near as strong.

Long Shot

3 Dominus (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for Shayne Cahill. Both runs for the new camp have come at Murray Bridge, doing more than enough fresh over 1200m before going to 1400m where I think it was a case of second up syndrome, failing to come on behind En Francais. His best is certainly good enough so don’t pen him.

Race 8. (17:12) Happy 50th Birthday Fox Handicap (64) 1000m

Back to a fast run 1000m and drawn soft, I think 4 Jaazeb (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) can bounce back. I am very forgiving of the run two weeks ago at Gawler over 1200m when wide no cover for the trip and doing that work just told late, tiring to finish midfield behind East Indiaman. Fast run short course racing seems to be his go in life and drawn much better with Neindorf back on, he’ll do me.

Danger

2 Our Heidi (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) looks hard to beat. This mare has been pretty good in two runs this time in. Bolted up fresh on the course proper here before going to Murray Bridge where she did work to get on speed and that burn just told late in the piece behind Morialta. Interesting she comes back to 1000m but she’ll roll forward and up/in is the spot to be for this track IMO.

Long Shot

12 General Mint (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win. Looked like that win would last time at Murray Bridge where I thought Potter gave him a peach and was there to win but couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Riched. Think a fast run 1000m will be ideal for him, sitting off that speed, and should be strong at the end. Leading contender.

Race 9. (17:50) The Junction Handicap (70) 1250m

Happy to side with 3 Impossible Action (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00), who resumes for Team Jolly. He had a busy Winter/Spring prep, which ended a game third over 1400m here behind Hankstar. He does seem better suited over further, but he loves the track, he can sprint well fresh and his recent jumpout win here was a sharp piece of work. To my eye, he’s ready to go. Hard to beat I’d suggest.

Danger

1 Secret War (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is flying for the Searle/Callanan camp and commands respect, especially with his jump/run style, which has seen him bolt up his past couple at Gawler, with sustained speed coming to the fore. He has to translate that to the Parks track but with his racing style, it is suited to here, and a while since they’ve raced here, up/in will be no disadvantage.

Long Shot

9 Rialtor (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has versatility re racing pattern and is in with a shout no matter how they ride him. They attempted to lead throughout at Gawler two weeks back and he gave a ripping sight from the front, but couldn’t quite get the job done and was beaten by a tough nut, East Indiaman. I think he is better when ridden with a sit so if that eventuates, he can run a bold race at a price.
