4/12/2020 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick

A seven race twilight meeting has been set down for Randwick – Kensington on Friday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

At the better odds, I’m with 3 Tiny (Bet Now: $3.60). James Cummings trained filly that showed good promise in her opening prep, racing on two occasions at Canterbury for a solid fourth in a hot form race before coming out to break the maiden status. Loved her two trials leading into this and should stalk Belieber, getting last look.

1 Belieber (Bet Now: $1.50) does look hard to beat for the WaterBott stable but even money/thereabouts is way too short. Did he beat much first up at Wyong? I’d say not, but visually he was impressive and did run sharp late time from the front. He will likely lead this field up and look the winner for a long way.

4 Pyrmont (Bet Now: $18.00) is the value runner. David Payne trained filly that ran over 1200m at Rosehill two weeks ago where she didn’t really get clear running at any stage in the straight and I reckon with a clear path, she goes close to winning. Does no work from the draw here and should be strong at the end.

In the corner of 1 Brookspire (Bet Now: $2.90). Chris Waller trained daughter of Hinchinbrook that is on debut off the back of a couple of trials this time in, and each trial she has looked full of running with something to offer. Should get a lovely run from just off the speed and appears the one to beat on debut.

4 Windsweep (Bet Now: $3.50) is a Team Snowden trained filly that resumes. Had a two run prep to start her career and struck wet tracks on both occasions. Ran well, but didn’t let down well enough. Given a good break and her two trials on firmer footing have been outstanding so keen to see how she goes.

6 Loniesha (Bet Now: $21.00) is the very interesting runner. Jason Deamer trained filly and I say interesting because she was down to run at Coffs Harbour on Thursday but was scratched from that much easier assignment to run here. Debut at Muswellbrook was solid enough so keen to see how she goes in town in what looks a deep maiden.

1 Exoboom (Bet Now: $2.35) is a son of Exosphere that resumes for the Snowden camp. He is one of the runners that returns to racing as a gelding so keen to see how he goes. Looks to have trialled up well enough in readiness for his return and despite a tricky draw is one of the hardest to beat in a race full of winning chances.

6 Supreme Leader (Bet Now: $3.30) isn’t far off a win for the Waller team. Has placed at his past couple, the latest coming two weeks ago at Rosehill when just off the speed and tried hard when third to impressive winner Kiku. Has a tricky draw to overcome, but potentially can get a cart over via Exoboom and from there, could get a sweet sit in transit. Hard to beat.

5 Lennon (Bet Now: $14.00) looks suited up to 1400m for Les Bridge. Debuted over 1000m at Kembla where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, liked the way he finished his race off behind Stoical. Hopefully can sit closer in the run from the better draw and the claim for Chris Williams certainly helps.

Hoping it’s handle bars down from the outset with 2 Lillemor (Bet Now: $3.50), who resumes for John O’Shea. She did a really good last prep at around this level, generally around the mark and rarely running a poor one. Loved the recent trials and despite the wide gate, she has brilliant early toe to cross, lead and give them something to chase.

5 Sally’s Day (Bet Now: $3.80) is a talented mare for the Ryan/Alexiou team but could I have her as favourite, and at the price she is? Not sure, but she does have the engine under the hood to give this a shake and both career wins have come when produced fresh, so can see why she’s liked. Wait and see what the market does before diving in.

4 Hibiscus Lady (Bet Now: $9.00) is a very consistent mare for Ron Quinton that has done little wrong in two runs back from a break. Resumed with a strong win from near the speed at Gosford before going to Wyong where she was a bit tardy away and settled back but liked the way she finished off. If she can sit just off the speed from the good draw, she will be around the mark once again.

9 Liveinthefastlane (Bet Now: $5.50) is racing so well this time in for the Price team. Ran at Rosehill over 1800m two weeks ago and chased strongly from off the speed, just failing to get there when a close up third to Nyami. Significant jockey booking with J Mac steering and from a good draw, leaning her way in a tricky race.

3 Nyami (Bet Now: $3.90) has been up a little while but continues to race at a pretty solid level. Lovely ride from Tommy saw him win at this trip at Rosehill a fortnight ago, sitting back off the good speed and launching late to nail them on the peg. If he can take advantage of the inside gate, he’ll take some beating here.

11 Petaluma (Bet Now: $19.00) has a lightweight and while she has a slight query at 1800m, she has a soft gate to use so could sneak her in as a first four threat. Was good late last time out over 1500m at Rosehill behind Instant Attraction. Off that, 1800m should be okay, so she’s a knockout chance if the breaks can go her way.

This is the easiest race that 1 Iconic Star (Bet Now: $18.00) has contested in some time and at the double figures, happy to speck her each way because she has the right racing pattern for this track. Went out too quick at Kembla last time out behind Hulk but back to 1000m and back to midweek grade, she’s very likeable, especially at the odds.

5 Invincible Lad (Bet Now: $7.50) doesn’t have the best of winning strike rates but he is racing well at the moment without breaking through. Ran at Warwick Farm last time out when chasing hard from off the speed, just failing to get the win when a narrow second to El Cohete. Think that form reads well enough for this.

9 Invincible Kiss (Bet Now: $13.00) is another that looks value. Forget she went around last time out. Was caught five wide no cover for the trip. Had to tire late and that she did, but the effort was still more than sound. Prior form was sound and does get Jason Collett steering from a soft draw. A win wouldn’t totally shock.

With 1 Safado (Bet Now: $14.00) in the get out. Good lead here that the stable scratched from Coffs Harbour on Thursday in preference for this race. Far from disgraced last time out at Kembla behind Mo’s Crown after getting back in the run. If gate one is used to advantage, think he will run a beauty at a good price.

8 Mubariz (Bet Now: $7.50) is a former UK galloper having his second Australian prep and you always have to pay attention to that. Chris Waller trains and the galloper did a pretty good job in his first prep. Hasn’t been too bad in a couple of trials, sprints well fresh and like the booking of J Mac. Market will be the guide.

6 Isorich (Bet Now: $23.00) is an absolute beauty. He can sneak a first four spot here at odds. On the quick back up after racing last Friday night at Canterbury when wide with cover and despite only beating one runner home, he wasn’t beaten far by Charretera. Gets the claim and hopefully can get three wide cover again and finish off strong.

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 1 Safado
