7 Zarkana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks one of the better bets on the card. Three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance. She got back in the run, with cover, before angling wider and drove hard late but had to settle for a second to Voltage Point. Better for the run under the belt, can settle closer, hard to beat. Keen.

3 Stokomo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since March 16 on the Parks track when just off the speed and seemingly had every chance when a close up fourth to Sir Sway. Fresh at 1200m I like and overall, finds a very winnable race. Watch the market.

6 Sharendipity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run an improved race. Forget she went around behind Hooked On Wealth first up a few weeks back. Tardy away and that sealed her fate, finishing down the track. Prior efforts were quite good and certainly good enough to give this a shake.

9 Duchess Of Sussex (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win her maiden and she gets her chance here. Ran over 1250m two weeks ago on the Parks track. She was on speed and trucking before being clicked up and she looked all over the winner but 1250m saw her out, run down late. Back to 1050m, hard fit, racing well…she looks the one.

14 Whine For Wine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Street Boss on debut for Andrew Gluyas. This filly trialled here on August 1 and seemed to move well enough to my eye when third, beaten 1.5L, but moved well enough to my eye. Bred to be a nice horse so watch the market and see what it does.

13 Little Princess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put herself on speed and run well I dare say. Clarken/O’Shea trained filly that resumed over 900m at Murray Bridge when near the front and was game in defeat but fresh, she couldn’t quite see it through when third to Truly Elsa. Improvement to come, not penning her.

2 Platinum Wolf (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating here for Kristi Evans off the back of his run two weeks ago on the Parks track here. He just took a little too long to wind into his work but his finale was strong in defeat when third. Hard fit now, has class on his side and racing as if 1600m suits.

5 Bit Of A Rebel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for Team Jolly. He ran over 1550m on the Parks track here a fortnight back. He got the suck run in transit before being presented clear air and loomed to win but couldn’t quite finish the job when a narrow second to Vee Rod. Like him on the course proper and should be at peak fitness.

10 Charm Slinga (Bet Now:  $SP.00) isn’t racing too bad at the moment for John Hyam. This guy was a strong winner two back before going to the Vee Rod race from two weeks back. He got a fair way out of his ground but his finale was more than sound in defeat, finishing fourth. Dangerous if he can settle closer in the run.

2 Smiling Assassin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Garret Lynch and seems the straight bat play. He won over 2250m two weeks ago on the Parks track. It came down to survival of the fittest, and he came out on top, surging hard late to finish best. Like him up in trip on the bigger track and a firmer track is up his alley.

1 Lake’s Folly (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Michael Hickmott. He is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday over 1950m on the Parks track. He got back in the field and worked home well enough in defeat I thought when a close up second to Crown Mint. Like him back up in trip and finds a winnable race.

3 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and is dangerous at odds. She ran two weeks back behind Smiling Assassin when keen near the speed and that early burn of petrol tickets just found her out late in the piece, tiring to finish down the track. I think with better racing manners, she can run a much improved race.

8 Surprise Coming (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kylie Schultz trained gelding that resumes. This guy comes here fresh, having not raced since June 15 when giving them a start and a beating to win at Murray Bridge, beating subsequent Stakes winner Lingani. He will be better over further but has quality and I’ll bank on that getting him home here.

5 Ocean Reward (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Mark Webb. He ran a fortnight back over 1000m on the Parks track. He probably just found them a bit sharp but he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat behind Lingani in a race which had good depth. Like him up in trip, he commands respect.

3 Jack The Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented gelding for the Francis/Kent camp that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since May 11 during the Adelaide Carnival when outclassed, finishing down the track behind En Francais in The Cummings. Better suited over further but has a touch of quality.

8 Delta Tango (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it. She got the win three weeks ago over this track/distance, getting the suck run in transit before angling for clear air, got it, and drove hard late with momentum to win. Now she has won again, she can continue that, especially at this level.

11 Exopipi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one with upside and a firmer deck is a big tick. She ran over 1550m two weeks back on the Parks track. She didn’t really get the clearest of paths in the straight but her finale was more than sound in defeat behind Vee Rod. Hard fit now and up to 1800m, she rates highly for me.

13 Rebel Consortium (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She ran over the mile here three weeks back when second up and just looked in need of the run behind impressive winner Reservoir Dog, but wasn’t beaten too far. Up in trip, near peak fitness, not dismissing her.

13 Sachem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found a purple patch for Clarken/O’Shea and no reason why he can’t win again. He was struggling to win but has found form, winning two on the bounce, both over this track/distance, the latest being three weeks ago when getting a suck run in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose to wear down Brave Star. Hard to beat once again.

6 Brave Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing super for Phillip Stokes and commands respect as one of the leading contenders. His run was enormous in defeat three weeks ago at this track/distance when wide no cover, doing work on speed, and was entitled to knock right up but he kept on and was only bloused late by Sachem. With a better run in transit, he takes beating.

7 Yuri Royale (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable at a price. Team Jolly trained gelding that resumed two weeks back over 1550m here on the Parks track where he got back to near last in the run and on testing ground, he struggled, so it was pretty much a prep run behind Alpine Flyer. The track should be firmer, good upside, he’s dangerous at odds.

13 Kian (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a horse with talent. I thought his run in defeat two weeks ago on the Parks track was very good. Led, copped heat on speed and was entitled to knock right up but he stayed on and was only nabbed late. I think with a touch more patient of a steer, he’ll run well at a likely decent price.

14 Burning Bright (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Andrew Gluyas since racing over 1800m here. She landed on speed throughout and tried her guts out but she couldn’t quite see the trip out when midfield behind Delta Tango. Back in trip and back in depth, I think she can run an improved race.

17 Red Roof (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Kristi Evans. He ran over 1400m two weeks ago on the Parks track. She got back in the run and while she was never threatening, she kept finding the line in a pretty good effort behind Chambers Bay. Nearing peak fitness and firmer footing, she can run a much improved race.

I think a senior jock and weight relief is the reasons why I am giving 7 Jean Valjean (Bet Now:  $SP.00) another chance. This mare ran three weeks ago over 1050m here. She seemed to get a decent enough run in transit and was there to win but just couldn’t quite quicken. Pannell on, hard fit, this looks her race.

6 Cold Case (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Star Witness that resumes for Team Jolly. This gelding resumes, having not raced since July 29 last year when close up in defeat behind a talented animal, Jack The Lad. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and with this stable, watch the market.

3 Howl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to rate as the one to beat. Loved his return two weeks ago on the Parks track in a strong 78. He got back in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line in a really good effort behind Lingani. Fitter, back in depth, firmer deck, he takes beating I say.

BEST BET: Race Nine Number 7 Jean Valjean

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 13 Sachem

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 13 Kian
