Race 1. (12:20) Seeley / Polyaire Mdn Plate 1600m
8 Despoina (Bet Now: $3.60) on top in what looks a very winnable race. This filly has shown good promise in two career outings. Debuted over 1460m at Queanbeyan and was good late from the back. She then went to the Sapphire Coast and produced very good late splits when third to Media Chick. If the inside gate is used to advantage, she’ll take beating against these.
2 Buff In Disguise (Bet Now: $4.40) has been solid in two runs back from a break. Outclassed but far from disgraced fresh at Warwick Farm before going to Scone where he got back and was good late in defeat behind Far Too Hot when third. The rise to 1600m suits and the depth, as a whole, is on the thin side.
1 Angry Liam (Bet Now: $11.00) is an improver at odds. Ran over 1300m at Dubbo two weeks ago when wide no cover on speed for the trip and the run just told late when down the track. If he can get a more economical run this time around, he can run an improved race at a price.
Race 2. (12:55) Roylances Tractor Replace. Mdn 1100m
11 Rubi Air (Bet Now: $3.90) looks to have returned in pretty good order. Trialled up like a jet prior to resuming at Gilgandra where she was smashed in betting but I thought she had her chance when third, beaten just under three lengths. Should get a lovely run from the gate and with the claim, she appeals, and I am respecting the last start SP.
7 Yorker (Bet Now: $5.50) has had a number of chances to break the maiden tag. That said, he’s racing really well. He ran over 950m at Moree last time out where he was an odds on pop. Pracey-Holmes dug him out hard to hold the lead and that early burn just told late. Last bit will test, but he’ll give a bold sight.
5 Overdefence (Bet Now: $6.50) is a very interesting runner. He returns as a gelding for Gary McCarney after a two run prep in the Spring of last year where he didn’t go too bad in some tidy maidens. Been gelded and his two trials leading in have been encouraging. so watch the market.
Race 3. (13:30) Shead & Nicholson / Daikin Mdn 1300m
7 Musical Affair (Bet Now: $2.60) is a two year old taking on the older horses, which is always a good recipe, and she gets Blinkers/Tongue Tie first time, so that’s enough for me. Ran over 1100m at Wellington last start where she led most of the way but was no match late for Crop Duster. That was her first run in a few weeks but first run for the new stable, it was encouraging. Hard to beat.
6 Money Not My God (Bet Now: $2.40) appeals. Sat on speed last time out at Gilgandra and gave a solid kick but couldn’t quite get there when second to Rupicasso. Track/distance placegetter and being near the front is the spot to be on this track, so she appeals as a key winning chance.
2 Jeune Dreamon (Bet Now: $8.50) can be an improver at a price. Wide throughout last time out at Hawkesbury and couldn’t get involved behind Wonderwomen, who has won again since, so the form reads well, and the tick over trial win suggests he’s ready to go, so watch the market.
Race 4. (14:05) Intl Gaming Technologies (C1) 1400m
Inside gate, up in trip, in form, Blinkers first time, I’m keen on 2 Possibly So (Bet Now: $2.50), who ran last start over 1300m at Dubbo when back in the run and closing off quite strongly when second. If the inside gate is used to advantage, I think he’ll take a power of beating against this lot.
4 Osman (Bet Now: $5.50) gets the Blinkers back on so he can be an improver. Solid maiden win two back at Coonamble before going to Gunnedah when wide throughout and just battled late. Tricky draw to overcome, but gets the Blinkers back on so I am expecting improvement.
12 Riders Inthe Stand (Bet Now: $7.50) was scratched from earlier this week to be kept on ice for this. He resumed over 1000m at Gilgandra where he had a suck run behind the speed and battled away really well in defeat when third. I think with a more patient steer, you’ll see a much better effort.
Race 5. (14:40) City Club Group (Bm58) 1400m
1400m is a slight query with 5 Deshawn (Bet Now: $5.00) but gate one and the fact he’s racing so well, I am in his corner. He was 1100m to 1000m when racing at Wellington last start and closed off her race quite well late in the piece when second to Billy Bent Ear. Soft trip should negate the 1400m query and is an each way speck.
6 Howlowcanyougo (Bet Now: $8.50) has had a few homes throughout his career but his last couple of runs have been quite encouraging. Impressive win at odds two back at Gundagai before going to Narrandera and worked to the line with purpose to finish second. Should lob into a lovely spot from the gate and is racing well.
Firmer footing should help the cause of 10 Shecago (Bet Now: $14.00), who resumed on a bog at Canberra where she led but couldn’t pick her feet up in the conditions when down the track. Saves his best for 1400m and back on firmer footing, an improved showing is on the cards.
Race 6. (15:15) Amazing Ben Hall Bullet (Bm74) 1200m
Expecting jump/run set up from 11 Moetta (Bet Now: $3.20) and with that in mind, she’s hard to beat. Had a suck run behind the speed at Gilgandra last time before getting the inside split and dashed late to win nicely. Tumbles in weight due to the claim and class rise, but a positive ride, she’ll give a bold sight.
3 Patrick May (Bet Now: $6.50) is in for a good prep. Market didn’t really want him when he resumed in the Cannonball at Coonamble and was solid late without threatening when fourth to Tucson Valley. I like him up to 1200m and he’ll be quite dangerous if he can settle closer.
7 Supreme Attraction (Bet Now: $16.00) hasn’t really fired a shot this time in, but I’d say there has been excuses each time. Resumed on a bog at Dubbo before wide no cover in the Cannonball at Coonamble. He then raced last time at Gilgandra when lumping 63kg and failed to come on. Hard fit with weight relief, if he’s ever going to improve, it is here.
Race 7. (15:55) Forbes Cup 1600m
I’m keen on 11 One Aye (Bet Now: $5.00) for the Joseph/Jones camp. This mare resumed just over two weeks ago Rosehill and stuck to the task really well when third to a potential Group l horse in Frumos. Love her up to the mile and with luck from the gate, she’ll only run well.
5 Ready To Humble (Bet Now: $3.80) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. He attempted to lead throughout in the Narrandera Cup last time and fought on really well in defeat, just finding one better in Kiptanui. If he leads and gets control, he’ll take beating.
Last time 7 Intuition (Bet Now: $11.00) won, Adam and Eve were in nappies. But, that said, he’s knocking on the door. Wide no cover in the Narrandera Cup and battled away really well when a closing fourth to Kiptanui. Draws to get a much better run this time around…doubt he wins, but a must for multiples.
Race 8. (16:35) Aristocrat Hcp (C2) 1100m
11 Coopella (Bet Now: $8.00) on top and is a great each way gamble. Market said the first up run at Dubbo was a barrier trial and the ride suggested as much, sitting wide no cover, no initiative, yet found the line pretty well when third to All Formidable. Significant jockey upgrade and with better luck, she’s a bet for sure in the get out.
2 Extravagent Lad (Bet Now: $4.20) is knocking on the door to win one for Scott Collings. Attempted to lead throughout over 1200m on Narrandera Cup Day and he gave a bold sight. Just couldn’t quite finish it off when second to Unique Prince. Tricky draw, but presses forward and is honest.
12 Greaves (Bet Now: $13.00) has a bad racing pattern but if they overdo it in front, he’ll be launching late. Game second two back at Moruya before going to a Highway at Rosehill when back in the run and was very good late behind So Country, clocking good late splits. Must for multiples.
