Ten races have been set down for Rosehill on Saturday for San Domenico Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

3 Philipsburg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a drop in grade for James Ponsonby. He ran over 1900m here two weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Amusing. Like him back to Midway grade, should be strong late…can win.

4 Monkhana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it for Denim Wynen. She won the Midway a fortnight back over 1500m here, getting the beaut run in transit and finished best to score in a driving go. The rise in trip should be fine and strikes a winnable Midway once again.

1 Be Real (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Brad Widdup. She resumed two weeks back in the Midway here when off speed and while she was never a winning threat, she kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece. Good upside to come, she’s in the mix.

2 Shipshape (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is finding it hard to win but that said, I think he’s racing really well at present. He ran over 1300m in the Highway two weeks ago here, getting a fair way out of his ground but worked home with real purpose late in the piece. Extra 100m is fine and can take this out.

3 Solitario (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in his short career to date. He ran over 1200m at Tamworth a few weeks ago when off speed before angling wider and looked the winner when presented but just found one better. Maps ideally and gets J Mac.

13 Nova Centauri (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m for Rod Northam after a win at Scone over 1200m where she gave them a start and a beating, letting down with nice change up speed to win and win well. 1400m should be fine, she’s a leading contender.

7 Amreekiyah (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can bounce back. Peter Snowden trained mare that over 1400m here a fortnight back on testing ground where she wasn’t 100% happy on the bog but she picked up late and was pretty good to/through the line. Firmer deck, she can bounce back.

8 Sister Daae (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door for Chris Waller. She ran two weeks ago over 1400m here where she got into a decent spot in transit and loomed to win but had no answers late for the finale of stablemate Pippie Beach. Bursting to win and gets a great chance here.

4 Justela (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. She ran two weeks back in the Midway here. She got off speed and was good late in the piece when fourth to Monkhana. That was her first run in several weeks, so with room for improvement, she’s dangerous.

4 Captain Furai… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) it’s rare to say J Mac gave one none. But case in point was this horse a fortnight back. He gave the horse an ordinary steer and set the horse an impossible task. He was coming off a first up ripping run on a bog, so perhaps the third up bounce back on firmer footing is on the cards.

6 Anythink Goes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran two weeks back over 1400m here, chasing the speed and he tried hard but had no answers for all the way winner Fully Lit. Knocking on the door to win and strikes a winnable race.

3 Rogue Rocker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t mind getting his feet wet and is racing well at present, as seen over 1400m at Sandown last time when chasing strongly from off speed but just couldn’t quite get there. Hard to beat rising to the 1500m on a track with juice in it.

11 Tazima (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Irish import that is getting better with racing and off a win, he is the one for me. The win came on the Kenso at Randwick where he gave them a start and a beating, getting better as the race went on to win and win well. Hard fit, 2000m, he takes beating.

1 Travolta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in a purple patch for Chris Waller and commands respect. He was a strong winner two back at Randwick before racing here a fortnight back and loomed to win nearer the inside but couldn’t quite get past Amusing. 2000m should be fine, he can win.

6 Sly Boots (Bet Now:  $SP.00) likely lands on speed and will run a much improved race. He attempted to lead throughout in the Wyong Cup Prelude last start and gave a strong kick from the front but was nabbed late by Royal Supremacy. Lands in front and will run well.

1 Aerodrome (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Ole Kirk that resumes for Michael Freedman. He is first up, having not raced since the JJ Atkins when far from disgraced in defeat behind Cool Archie after sitting on speed. Looks to have trialled up very well for the return and 1300m fresh signals intent.

4 Sixties (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is progressive and heading in the right direction. Chris Waller trained colt that spanked them at the midweeks at the Kenso over 1150m when on speed and was trucking before being clicked up by J Mac and away he went to win and win well. Keen to see how he goes.

I am very interested in 2 Providence (Bet Now:  $SP.00) from a Spring Champion/Derby perspective. He resumes, having not raced since the JJ Atkins where he ran an absolute beauty in defeat behind Cool Archie. Loved the way he trucked in a Canterbury trial win…1300m is on the short side but he is a class animal.

10 Without Parallel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can well and truly put her hand up for The Kosciuszko here. She was an arrogant Highway winner at Rosehill last time, sitting on speed and was absolutely trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Good test here to stamp her credentials, but confident she can.

6 Polyglot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver for Michael Freedman after resuming at this track/distance two weeks ago. He was there to win but just found one better in Mal Coupe. Rarely runs poorly early on in a prep and on firmer footing, he clearly appeals.

4 Catch The Glory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard fit and can win after placing a fortnight back here behind Mal Coupe. She got into a decent spot in transit and was there to win but couldn’t quite there, beaten 0.4L. Racing well, deserving of a win…gets her chance.

5 Wodeton… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is this D Day? He is first up, but he promised the world as a juvenile, and for the most part, he didn’t live up to the hype. He is back, and it’s chips in for a Group l. Trial work has been elite and he could well be here to make a statement.

3 Beiwacht (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy colt for Chris Waller that resumes. This guy is first up, with his last run coming in the Golden Slipper where not much went right for him when down the track. He has been given a good break and the trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging.

2 Rivellino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice horse first up for Kris Lees. He did really good things in the Autumn, being close and somewhat unlucky in the Slipper and Sires. Trialled very well leading in and will be strong late. Just a matter of where he gets to from the draw.

15 Our Gold Hope (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat I say. I thought Tommy gave her a sore back when resuming here two weeks ago, trying to make his run nearer the inside and in the quicksand, she couldn’t quite pick up late in the piece. Better set up here, fitter, she takes beating.

9 Grebeni (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Ryan/Alexiou trained gelding that resumes and we know the talent is there to measure up to this and better races. Just one trial to get ready, but it was over 1175m and he moved very well I thought. Watch betting.

I think 2 Asterix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying. Whether this is his race and if he can win fresh, not sure, but off his trials, I have to speck each way. He was just fair in the Autumn but now he’s had the prep under Waller, come back, and his trials have been excellent. I think he’ll run really well.

2 Disneck (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came six weeks ago at Rosehill. He just found them too sharp over 1100m but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Romeo’s Choice. Fitter, up in trip…dangerous for sure.

3 Lord Of Biscay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kris Lees trained gelding that resumes, I dare say with eyes towards the Cameron at Newcastle. He hasn’t raced since April 12 when a game second in the Provincial-Midway Final at Randwick to Matcha Latte. Looks to have trialled well and good lead that J Mac sticks from the recent trial.

4 Geriatrix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Cloudland race from two weeks back at this track/distance. He got off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. Better for the run, and if he can be within range, he’s dangerous.

BEST BET: Race Eight Number 5 Wodeton

NEXT BEST: Race Five Number 11 Tazima

LONG SHOT: Race One Number 3 Philipsburg
