Belmont will play host to a nine race card on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out six metres for the entire circuit.

If 6 Paint It Red (Bet Now: $5.50) can produce at Belmont what she did first up at Ascot, she wins. That first up win at Ascot was electric, producing sustained speed and gave nothing else a look in. Drawn wide but should spear across and take a power of beating.

4 Eternal Wine (Bet Now: $13.00) is a Michael Lane trained filly that resumes. She ended last prep on a high with a win over this track/distance, giving them a start and a beating. Looks to have trialled well, she commands respect.

5 Hot Sea (Bet Now: $3.80) is a very interesting runner. Former Victorian that makes his WA debut for Tiarnna Noske. He has done little wrong in two career outings and his recent Lark Hill trial was strong, so watch betting.

7 Bassett Hound (Bet Now: $1.65) was down to run on Wednesday but was scratched in preference for this race. Not sure what to make of the first up win because he had promised to do something like for a while…the manner in which he did it was just so dynamic. If he can reproduce that here, he wins again.

4 Define Beautiful (Bet Now: $7.00) is a big market watch. Luke Fernie trained mare that resumes, and interesting she resumes without a trial because she isn’t really a noted performer first up. But, the big tick for her claims is that Pike is booked so watch betting.

1 Magnique (Bet Now: $9.50) was the subject of a betting drift when resuming at this track/distance two weeks back, and the market was spot on. She sat wide no cover on speed and tired to finish near last. Has to get another look because her form last prep was quite sound.

4 Spirit Of Dan (Bet Now: $8.50) for me. Few of these ran over 1200m at Pinjarra at their last run, this guy debuting, and he was a real eye catcher from last when third in a very strong debut. Fitter and up to 1300m, can settle closer, he’ll take beating.

6 She’s A Splinter (Bet Now: $6.00) won that Pinjarra race, getting better as the race went on from off speed to get the job done in good style. The extra 100m should be fine and her two runs back indicate she’s returned super and is a key chance.

3 Manhattan Rhythm (Bet Now: $9.00) steps up to 1300m after debuting over 1200m here two weeks back. He had the suck run in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when fourth. Maps ideally to do no work and be effective late.

4 Kay Tee Why (Bet Now: $6.50) ran fourth to Desert Whisper three weeks ago. In the run, I thought she was the winner, but she just lacked the killer blow to finish the job. She was a month between runs there so with upside to come, she appeals, especially getting to Belmont.

1 Desert Whisper (Bet Now: $2.20) is three weeks between runs since a win at Ascot, producing sustained speed throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. Good racing style and although she’ll cop pressure, she’ll keep chipping away and be around the mark.

2 Ginnivan (Bet Now: $19.00) is a Jim Taylor trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Oct 25 at Ascot when leading and tiring late to finish down the track behind Too Dardy. Looks to have trialled well and does tend to save his best for Belmont so watch betting.

2 I Love Your Smile (Bet Now: $4.00) jumps straight to 2100m after resuming last Saturday over the mile here. She got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind her finale in defeat behind Sixinch Heels. She’ll be strong late and has class on her side.

1 Antique Star (Bet Now: $1.85) commands respect after a win over 2200m here two weeks ago, sitting on speed throughout and she found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. Gets in well after the claim and will keep chipping away.

9 Tribal Ruler (Bet Now: $51.00) ran over this track/distance last Wednesday where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chipping away and was far from disgraced. Not sure he wins but can run first four.

1 Western Empire (Bet Now: $1.95) picks himself. Arrogant win in the Belmont Sprint two weeks ago when resuming, giving his rivals a start and a beating in an electric return. Fitter and up to the mile, upside to come, good luck beating him I say.

11 Fluro Neuro (Bet Now: $34.00) should appreciate getting to the mile after resuming over 1300m in the Northam Stakes when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. Gate is tricky, doubt he beats the stablemate but runs well regardless.

2 Magnificent Andy (Bet Now: $20.00) wasn’t too bad in the Belmont Sprint. He got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was far from disgraced in defeat. He’s one for exotics.

3 Mt Shirataku (Bet Now: $1.50) looks top seed for mine after his return two weeks ago here, sitting wide no cover on speed and fought hard, just getting pipped late by Go Go Grommet. Think with a better run in transit, he’s the one to beat.

4 Acorn (Bet Now: $7.00) is dangerous. On face value, he was plain behind Go Go Grommet, but I do think he is a better horse with cover and a drag into the race. That didn’t quite eventuate for him last start behind Go Go Grommet. He can win if he gets cover.

2 Go Go Grommet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an impressive albeit narrow winner at this track/distance two weeks back, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. He’s got the win on the board, he can go on with it.

7 Antique Queen (Bet Now: $8.00) should prove hard to beat after her return last Saturday over 1400m here, working home with real purpose from the back behind Snow God. Can settle much closer in the run and off the return, with all the upside, she clearly takes beating.

11 Queen Aria (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been given a mini freshen up for Adam Durrant, having not raced since April 29 at Ascot over the mile when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat behind Saxon Jewel. Genuine mare who should be around the mark.

1 Grand Reserve (Bet Now: $35.00) is gradually building up fitness and could pinch first four here. He ran behind Major Mario two weeks back at this track/distance and while he was never a winning threat, I thought he was pretty good late the way he kept chasing. Doubt he wins, but is one for exotics.

7 Bakeel (Bet Now: $6.00) on top for me. He ran over the mile here two weeks ago, getting the sweet sit in behind and loomed to win but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Major Mario. Like him back to 1400m, maps ideally again and strikes a winnable race.

9 Drakaina (Bet Now: $6.00) should should be suited up to 1400m after resuming over 1200m here a fortnight back. She got into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when second to Sir Dreamalot. Has returned well and commands respect.

2 Rokanori (Bet Now: $91.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1200m two weeks back here when resuming. He got just off the pace and seemingly had every chance. Just whacked to the line. Better for the run and up in trip, he’s one for exotics.

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 3 Mt Shirataku

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 7 Bakeel
