Ten races will be run and won at Randwick on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is soft (6) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

I can only assume Jamie Kah is in Sydney to ride 1 Parkour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) given it has eyes on the Magic Millions and you’d think needs to win, or at very least run second, to get into the field at the Gold Coast. He debuted in the Ballarat Magic Millions and was quite good in defeat I thought behind impressive winner Arabian Summer, working home strongly in the quicksand. I think with normal luck from the gate, he wins and books his ticket.

2 Vianarra (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Busuttin/Young. He debuted in the Ballarat Magic Millions where he got back and took a while to wind into his work but was pretty good late in the piece in inferior ground behind Arabian Summer. That is two runs at 1000m on the bounce, so now up to 1200m, he’s hard to beat.

4 Dark Arts (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Snitzel for Team Hawkes that is on debut. This guy has had two trials to get ready for start one, winning the latest one and seeing go about his business quite nicely I thought. Good depth to this 2YO race iMO but I think he has an engine under the hood, so watch the market.

7 Bomarea (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Marc Quinn trained filly that looks pretty sharp. She produced sustained speed from the front to win the Highway over 1000m here two weeks ago, leading throughout and was just far too good in a sharp display. All three career wins have come at 1000m. Cooking with gas well and truly if she can stretch it to 1200m.

2 Gallant Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented animal for Brett Robb that commands respect. He resumed a few weeks back at Rosehill in the Highway and he was very good from off the speed, getting held up before finding clear air and launching late, just missing out on picking up Wilbury. That was his first run since February so with good improvement to come, he rates highly.

12 Discreet Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off a win and commands respect. Last start win was at Nowra over 1200m where she got into a dream spot near the speed before angling into clear air and finished best for a nice win. That was her first run in over a month so with room for improvement, she rates highly.

12 Runwiththetide (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a model of consistency for Ross McConville that commands respect. He ran three weeks ago at this track/distance when near the speed throughout and he tried his guts out but couldn’t quite finish it off when a narrow third to Fairway Star. He has that 1400m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead here.

13 Your Not The Boss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has less convictions than most and off a win, he’s in with a shout. Mitch Beer trained gelding that resumed with a strong win over 1200m at Canberra on testing ground before going to Moruya where he gave them a start and a beating in a sharp display. That was at 1300m so 1400m should be fine and maps perfect.

8 Black Duke (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout for Con Karatkasanis. He has been around the mark without winning, the latest run being over 1400m at Kembla where he tried hard from on speed but couldn’t quite get the win, just failing to see it through behind Pioneer Lass. Not sure I could back him to win but a must for exotics.

11 House Of Cards (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice horse. Michael Freedman trained three year old that resumed over 1200m at Kembla where he gave them a start and a beating, launching late from near last to produce outstanding late splits in winning. Good test here against some likely types but confident he can measure up.

3 Keenan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a GaiBott trained three year old that resumes. This boy is first up, having not raced since the Spring when on speed and fighting on strongly behind Mumbai Muse in the Brian Crowley. Given a break, he’s trialled up super and first up at 1300m signals clear intent to my eye. Hard to get past.

7 Hyde Park (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. He resumed under the lights at Canterbury where he was ridden with a sit but I thought he worked home strongly late in the piece when second to One Destiny. Maps to get an ideal run once again and better for the run under the belt, he’s right in the mix.

5 Touristic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning but not a whole lot of confidence. This guy hasn’t raced since Gong Day at Kembla when somewhat struggling on the wet track but for the most part, he was solid in defeat behind Unanimous. Firmer footing this time around I do like and he does seem to race well enough on the fresh side.

7 Deficit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been racing like he wants more ground and he gets it here. His last couple of runs have come over the mile, the latest being here a few weeks back when back off the speed and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line in a pretty good effort behind Zoe’s Promise, finishing fourth. Up to 2000m, he’s in with a shout.

Fitter and up to 2000m are two big ticks for 2 Naval College (Bet Now:  $SP.00). This guy resumed over the mile here two weeks back where he paraded like he would need the run and that’s how it panned out when down the track behind Grebeni. He gets to a more suitable trip this time around and although he may need the run again, he has a touch of quality.

7 Louisville (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks one of the best on the program. Chris Waller trained gelding that has run over 1400m his past two, the latest being two weeks ago here when back near last but worked home with real purpose late in the piece when second to Felix Majestic. Like him up to 1600m and if he can settle closer in the run, it could be a case of good luck beating him.

2 Miracle Spin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in for a good prep for Matty Smith and is a knockout hope. He resumed in the Felix Majestic race from two weeks back over 1400m here mentioned above. He got too far back but was an eye catcher, making up solid ground late in the piece. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll be dangerous I’d suggest.

4 Floating (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off a win and is in with a shout. That win was the Nowra Cup, which has qualified him for The Big Dance. The win was impressive, giving them a start and a beating in a sharp display. Maps to do no work and he has proven himself to be a Saturday metro performer in the past.

4 Grebeni (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the straight bat option for Ryan/Alexiou. This gelding was a strong winner two weeks ago at this track/distance, getting the sweet sit behind the speed before angling clear late and finishing best to win. He does love dry ground so if this track can get towards the good range, he’s going to take beating once again.

1 Charterhouse (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Maher/Eustace trained import who won the Cranbourne Cup two back, landing bets at odds, before going to The Ingham where he was never a winning threat but that said, he did make up ground and was unlucky not to finish closer. The depth here is nowhere near as deep and he does have class on his side.

2 Sky Lab (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is likely using this as a prep run for the Magic Millions but he will be strong late. He ran over 2400m at Rosehil last time and kept finding the line well enough without threatening behind Stockman, beaten just under two lengths. Back to 1600m is a clear sign it’s a prep run but if they go hard in front, he can launch over the top.

2 Dollar Magic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win a race for Scott Singleton. She has been a model of consistency throughout this prep but keeps finding one better, finishing runner up her past five, the latest being here tw0 weeks ago when second to impressive winner Time To Boogie. Maps to get an ideal run in transit and 1100m should be fine. Hard to beat.

8 Accapella Sun (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Matty Dale trained mare that ran in the Highway a fortnight back here where she got a fair way out of her ground and was held up at times but launched late to catch the eye when third to Bomarea. If she can settle closer in the run or be within range on the turn, she has the finale to win.

9 Spirit Queen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with her best. She was 1100m to 1400m a few weeks back at Rosehill and just needed the run I think, failing to finish it off behind Lekvarte in a plain run but on paper, it wasn’t the best of set ups. Better set up this time around so I think she can run a much improved race and you will likely get a price to find out.

11 Step Aside (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing very well for Chris Waller and should take beating here. Resumed with a bang when winning at Rosehill before going here several weeks ago where you can easily make a case to say he should have won when a narrow second to Fairway Star, getting badly held up until it was all over. Hard fit and with clear air, I think he’ll take beating.

3 Excelladus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m. He resumed two weeks back over 1200m here where he lobbed into a beaut spot behind the speed before being presented wider. Being first up, he couldn’t quite sustain the run when fourth to Dalaalaat in a good return. Better set up here, he can run a much improved race at odds. Hard to beat I’d suggest.

1 Dynamic Impact (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done most of his recent racing at 1200m and he’s racing like a truly run 1400m here will suit. He ran a few weeks back in the Razor Sharp at Randwick where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat, he closed off well enough I thought in defeat behind Recommendation. Not sure I could back him to win but one for multiples.

11 Union Army (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat. Ryan/Alexiou trains this gelding, who ran over 1100m here two weeks ago and you can make a case to say he should have won. He got badly held up at times but managed to get clear and rocketed to the line late, just missing out on the win when second to Boston Rocks. Like him up to 1200m, fitter and strikes a winnable race.

6 Contemporary (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win a race for James Cummings. He has placed his past three, the latest being here a fortnight back, trying his guts out from off the speed but had to settle for a second to a very consistent animal, Dalaalaat. He’s hard fit, racing well, but just not winning…I think his time to shine is now.

3 Powerful Peg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Kris Lees trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since August 26 at Rosehill when on speed and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there behind Howgoodareyou, finishing sixth. She is a mare who can sprint well on the fresh side and her trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging.
