The Summer Carnival continues this Saturday at Doomben for George Moore Stakes Day. The weather forecast is for showers, the track is heavy (10) and the rail is out 4.5 metres for the entire circuit.

7 Metalart (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Kelly Schweida and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance. He did work to cross and lead a few weeks back, giving a good sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Torabella. With a more economical run in transit, he can take this out.

9 En Pointe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a swimmer and does get conditions to suit. She ran a fortnight back at the Sunny Coast when doing a bit of early work to land on speed and that early burn just told on her late in the piece behind I Am Artie. Up in trip, likes Doomben and loves getting her toe in.

11 Queen Air (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Lindsey Smith, she now finds herself with Tony Gollan and we know this stable can improve a tried horse, especially a mare, a case in point being Princess Rhaenys. Liked the way she trialled last week and she’ll be strong late.

10 Exotique Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is unknown at 2000m but I think with a kind map, weight relief and not much depth, she’s worth a look. She ran over the mile at the Sunny Coast two weeks ago wehn off the speed and she tried hard to reel in Aerial Dancer but that horse had it too good in front and was too good. I think she’ll run well against this lot, especially from the gate, with weight relief and Robbie Dolan back on.

2 Kerchak (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is absolutely flying for Ben Ahrens and is racing like 2000m will suit after a win over the mile a fortnight back in the Mooloolaba Cup where he gave them a start and a beating to win impressively. He has won up to 1800m but is racing like 2000m suits and has the runs on the board.

13 The Driller (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one at odds I could speck after racing at Mackay on Tuesday when racing over 1300m and just found them too sharp behind Letmeletgo. The rise in trip I do like, down in the weights and he does save his best for wet ground.

Going to take a chance with 16 Captain Fox (Bet Now:  $SP.00). He ran over 1050m last Tuesday at Rockhampton when off the speed and closed his race with purpose when second to impressive winner Media Empire. He is a swimmer so if the rain hits, he comes right into play, he’ll be strong late…great each way gamble.

4 Cochrane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t want it too wet but he’s one of the leading chances for John Manzellman. He ran third to Media Empire in the race mentioned above, sitting on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late. Should press forward and be around the mark.

11 Masterplan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Brad Stewart. Four years of age and will be having his 42nd career outing. He has won two on the bounce, winning at Dalby two back before going to Gympie where he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to win. One for exotics.

1 Secret Sort (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a solid enough juvenile for Donna Stanbridge. He was a sharp winner at Doomben a few weeks ago, lapping up the 1110m and was quite dominant late in the piece. He’ll eat up a fast run 1110m off last run and could put his hand up as a local contender for the Magic Millions with a win here.

10 Hi Barbie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can put her hands up for the Magic Millions with a win here. She trialled here last Tuesday and was one of the standouts I thought, leading throughout and she gave them a spanking, winning by a space and running fast time. Think she’s clearly hard to beat and can stamp herself as nearly top seed for the Magic Millions.

9 Cuddles For Kimmy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the one with hard race experience/fitness on her side. She ran four weeks back at Eagle Farm where I was quite keen on her and despite being held up at times, she seemingly had her chance and was a bit on the plain side. Not sure she wins, but is one for exotics.

6 Choir Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one for me. He has run well in town previously and comes here off the back of a 11.7L romp at Cooktown. Admittedly, he didn’t beat much, but he ran fast time, record time, he’ll be strong at the end of the mile and will love give in the track.

5 Aolani (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Tom Button trained mare that has won three of her past four, winning her past, firstly at Mackay before a strong on speed win at Ingham. Good racing style, a mare in form and seemingly strikes a race where she can land on speed comfortably and take beating.

13 Bayerische (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can threaten at odds. Surprised most with his win at Yeppoon last time, landing the win at odds after settling near the speed. Gets Robbie Dolan to steer and he loves getting his toe in. A win wouldn’t shock at all.

3 Miss Joelene (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She ran over 1400m two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast when off the speed and she tried hard but couldn’t reel in impressive winner Transatlantic. Hard fit now and rising to a more suitable trip, she’ll take beating.

8 Red Top (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to the mile after resuming over 1400m at the Sunny Coast a fortnight back when off the speed and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat behind Inver Park. Fitter and up in trip, he rates highly.

10 Clyde (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well for Brian Smith and is knocking on the door after a second three weeks back at this track/distance, getting off the speed and worked home strongly but just found one better in the shape of Bettcha The Crown. Working up to a win and gets a great chance here.

6 I Found You (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a bit of quality about her so keen to see how she goes back around a bend vs the straight track, where she resumed on Oaks Day at Flemington in the Red Roses and was okay late but was never really threatening. Has always shown promise so keen to see how she goes against these.

9 Territory Ash (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like 1200m will suit for Liam Birchely. She ran over 1000m two weeks back at the Sunny Coast and worked home with real purpose, being quite good in defeat behind Cosmic Fire. The rise in trip is fine and her best is good enough to be a threat.

4 Kahlisee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is unknown at 1200m but with her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance and could pinch first four at odds. She resumed over 1000m at the Sunny Coast two weeks back when on speed and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late in the piece. If the track is playing up/in, she’s a knockout hope.

6 Cifrado (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well for Rex Lipp and rates highly. He resumed two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast in the Swiss Ace where he got off the speed and found the line with real purpose but just couldn’t quite finish the job behind Shalaa’s Moment. Fitter and up in trip, he’ll be strong late, he can win for sure.

7 Hidden Wealth (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since taking out The Weetwood at Toowoomba when leading throughout and credit to him, he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Field has been thinned right out after scratchings and his trial work has been sharp.

9 Millane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Tony Gollan and commands respect. He resumes, having not raced since July 20 at Eagle Farm when placing behind short course specialist Hold On Honey. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh, likes wet ground and has trialled nicely enough.

1 Amazing Eagle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can put his hand up for the Magic Millions with another win here. He hasn’t raced since resuming with a tough win in the Brian Crowley when on speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to win. Tick over trial was lovely and for mine, he looks clearly the one to beat.

4 Give Me Space (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a really good prospect for Barry Lockwood. Three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, landing big bets, letting down with a brilliant finale from off the speed to win and win well. Confident he can measure up here.

2 Superalloy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been pretty solid this time in for Rex Lipp and is a knockout chance. He ran behind Give Me Space in the race mentioned above when off speed and kept chasing when a close up fourth. He should be fine on wet ground and is one of the leading contenders.

3 Can’t Recall One (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has the engine under the hood and should appreciate a rise in trip after resuming over 1400m at the Sunny Coast two weeks ago where he got off the speed and although a bit one paced in the run to the line, he kept finding and was good in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, he rates highly.

2 Apuntar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be respected off his strong win at the Sunny Coast a fortnight back where he came back to 1400m, he got a beaut run in transit and gave them a spanking in quite a dominant display. If the 1600m is okay, he rates as one of the leading contenders.

10 Moon Sweeper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like 1600m will be okay. He comes through the Apuntar race from two weeks back at the Sunny Coast. He got too far out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he did make up ground and was good in defeat. More positive ride, he can win.

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 1 Amazing Eagle

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 6 Choir Boy
