The Pinnacles at Ascot continues this Saturday, headlined by the Winterbottom Stakes (1200m). The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out seven metres for the entire circuit.

1 Border Force (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Team Casey and should take beating here after winning two on the bounce, the latest being over the mile here two weeks ago when giving them a start and a beating and was quite strong to the line in winning. He’s a horse heading in the right direction and confident he can make it three on the bounce.

13 Lethal Weapon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is another that is looking to make it three on the bounce. Dominant maiden win at Northam two back before proving that was no fluke with a dominant display at Bunbury after getting a good run in transit. Good test here, but confident she can measure up.

14 Miss Intention (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She ran over the mile at York last time out where she got back in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up ground and wasn’t too bad in defeat. Like her up in trip and is one to be included in multiples.

5 Kisses From Kelly (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up and I think could put his hand up for the Perth Cup. He hasn’t raced since July 20 at Belmont when an impressive winner over 2200m at Belmont after getting a suck run in transit. Not a noted fresh horse but 1800m first up signals some form of intent and he has a touch of quality about him.

2 Fly With Caution (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the interesting runner. Four weeks between runs since racing over this track/distance when on speed and was moving with purpose before taking the front and looked home but was bloused late by Royal Toronado. The break between runs I find interesting but with his racing pattern, he’ll give himself every chance.

1 Playhouse Patron (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip after racing over the mile here two weeks back where he got off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind Watch Me Rock. The rise in distance is ideal and he has upside to come I feel.

10 Playz With Fire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t quite set the world on fire in some time but I reckon she’s here to rock and roll fresh. She had a three run late Autumn prep and was plain each time. Given a good break, has trialled up really well for the return and does get Pike fresh, which signals intent.

5 Comic Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at this track/distance where he got back in the run but worked home with purpose in a pretty good effort behind Miss Flirtatious. The back up I don’t mind for him and if he can settle closer, he takes beating.

3 Bondi Plunge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be suited back to 1200m after racing over 1400m three weeks back where she tried hard but just didn’t really run the trip out behind the in form Yarralea. Back to 1200m I like and with a kind map, she can run a much improved race.

7 Invincible Power (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a really nice horse on the up. Formerly with Lindsey Smith, he has had two runs for Bec Bayliss and has been quite good, firstly resuming with a fourth at Narrogin, a close up fourth, before a dominant win at Albany last time when giving them a start and a beating. He’ll be strong late, has upside/improvement, like him.

1 Eevalina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to lump the weight but she is a mare in form. Strong win over this trip at Kalgoorlie four weeks ago, getting the sweet sit in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. One of the leading chances.

8 Pennies Galore (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put herself on speed and try hard, which was the case at Albany last time and she did give a good sight but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late behind Invincible Power. Not sure she wins, but can run top four.

8 Ain’t No Other Man (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the straight bat play. He has been kept on ice for Team Casey, having not raced since Oct 26 when a strong on speed winner at this track/distance where he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Good racing style, genuine, he’ll do me.

11 Generosity (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat back to this level after racing in the Jungle Mist a fortnight back where she got too far out of her ground but really liked the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Baby Paris. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and still be effective at the end.

12 Sonoftheboss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put himself on speed and take running down. He ran over this track/distance three weeks ago when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through behind Hell I Am. Not sure he wins, but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

3 London’s Image (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an iron filly that is the one to beat if there is petrol in the tank. She was incredible in the WA Guineas last Saturday, leading at a very fast tempo and gave an almighty sight in front but just couldn’t quite see it through. Back miles in depth and back to 1400m, she’ll take running down.

1 Wind And The Lion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Winterbottom but he has been kept here. He was a very good winner of the Placid Ark, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance, beating London’s Image. Up to 1400m looks ideal, one of the leading contenders.

4 Spice Is Right (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put himself on speed and try hard. That was the case at Belmont last time out over this trip and he tried hard but the end of 1400m just found him out late in the piece. Not sure he wins, but with a soft trip in transit, he can run top four.

7 The Boss Lady (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready for 1400m. She ran two weeks ago in the Jungle Mist and was one of the better runs of the race inndefeat I thought when back and held up at times but closed with purpose behind Baby Paris. If the breaks go her way and she gets room to move early, she takes beating.

1 Baby Paris (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be respected after her Jungle Mist. It was a daring ride by Troy Turner but he gave the mare the freedom to run in front and she gave nothing else a look in, winning by an absolute space. If she can stretch it to 1400m, they’re cooking with gas.

9 Malkar Pindari (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was an eye catcher in the Jungle Mist I thought. She got back on the fence and was held at times before eventually getting clear and was good late in the piece. Her best is more than good enough to give this a shake so don’t discount her.

I can only see 15 Lady Laguna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) running well. On face value, yes, she was plain in the Champions Sprint, but she was on the back up after a gutbuster, and I am not sure she handled it, as well as the straight course. Has been set for Perth, from all reports has settled in and worked well, and J Mac makes the venture across.

5 Maharba (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has that sense of timing and he loves the 1200m. Strong winner down the straight at Flemington during Cup Week and the form out of it has been very good. He maps perfect, good upside and the stable are guns when it comes to travelling.

9 Rope Them In (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be respected. The Colonel Reeves win was very good, giving them a start and a beating, and yes, Western Empire was unlucky, but credit to this guy given he was coming back in trip. He’ll be strong at the end of 1200m and for mine, the majority of the locals look cast so he is in with a shout.

7 Miss Skyhigh (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can go on with it for Team Williams after a strong win two weeks ago when given a 12/10 by Pike and in a driving finish, she was too good for her rivals. Her confidence is up and she can go on with it here in what looks a winnable race.

5 Wubin Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Colin Webster after racing over 1200m here last Saturday where nothing went right for her so forgive and forget the run behind Miss Flirtatious. The rise to 1400m I do like for her and despite a tricky gate, she is one of the leading contenders.

2 Defending (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to be included in exotics. He ran over 1200m at Geraldton last time in the Batavia where he had a suck run in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job behind Bayezid. Not sure he wins, but has a kind map to get every chance. Top four prospect.

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 7 The Boss Lady
