3/4/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Ascot, Good Friday races

Ascot will conduct a ten event card for Good Friday racing. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out twelve metres for the entire circuit.

3 Spicy Thang (Bet Now: $1.75) for me in the opener. She resumed against the older horses just under two weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing in a good return behind Cannykev. Back to her own age with good upside, she appeals.

1 Kings Court (Bet Now: $5.50) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when wide no cover snd the hard run just told late behind Crippalenko. Maps much better this time around, he’s dangerous.

6 Mandible Magic (Bet Now: $13.00) was a forgive from last Wednesday at Belmont behind Eternal Wine. She did too much early work to land on speed and felt the pinch late. If she can get a more economical run, she’s a knockout hope.

6 Midnight Star (Bet Now: $1.65) should be too good for these. Has had numerous chances to break the maiden tag but is racing very well despote that fact, her latest run being a second at Pinjarra to stablemate Arrangenent. Like her up to 1800m, I think she’s the good thing on the card.

4 Beyond The Limits (Bet Now: $7.50) ran third in the race mentioned above. He got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. He’s racing well and the extra 200m should be no issue.

9 Universal Impact (Bet Now: $6.50) steps up to 1800m after racing over the mile here when on speed snd she fought hard but just tired late. I think with a more patient steer, she will be far more effective.

2 Miss Valmalenco (Bet Now: $2.35) looks the obvious way to go. She was game in defeat at Pinjarra last start when doing the work to chase the leader and tried hard but had to settle for a second. Maps ideally here and strikes a winnable race.

3 Mr Kissinger (Bet Now: $8.00) has found positive form and he can certainly go on with it. That positive form saw him run third at this track/distance, trying hard from near the speed. His best is good enough so for mine, he commands respect.

1 Masterly (Bet Now: $16.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1000m here where he ran last to Crippalenko. He was beaten for early speed and pretty much was just run off his legs. Better set up here, I am not dismissing.

4 Essentric Nature (Bet Now: $5.00) should take beating here for Team Williams after resuming a few weeks ago at Bunbury where he got a fair way out of his ground and worked home with real purpose in a good effort in defeat. Fitter, rising in trip, he takes beating.

1 Bonjoy (Bet Now: $2.35) was a superb winner of the Grandstand Cup last start, giving them a start and a proper beating in an electric performance. Smaller field ensures she won’t be far away and can unleash a brilliant finale. Clearly hard to beat.

2 Sensessional (Bet Now: $4.50) ran third in the Grandstand Cup. He tried hard from off speed and worked to the line well in defeat behind Bonjoy. A win from him here wouldn’t shock at all.

2 Bonditram (Bet Now: $3.60) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after resuming over 1000m here where she got off speed, beaten for early toe, but liked the way she finished her race off. Fitter and up in trip, she takes beating.

1 Jimmy Angel (Bet Now: $5.50) is an interesting runner. He resumes for Russell Stewart without a public trial, which to me signals some form of intent to resume a winner, and his form from last prep does read well, so watch betting.

8 Sister Mary (Bet Now: $27.00) is first up for Paul Jordan. She was hit and miss when last in work but for the most part, she ran really well in tidy races. Just one soft 400m trial under the belt, she coukd pinch first four.

13 Ceyone (Bet Now: $13.00) is a filly I’ll take a punt on. Jim Taylor trained first starter that has had extensive trial work to get ready for start one, dating back to May last year, so the grounding is there and her recent trial work has been more than encouraging. Happy to speck each way.

5 Octothorpe (Bet Now: $3.80) is a Tiarnna Noske trained gelding that debuts. He has won his past couple of trials at Lark Hill, firstly over 400m before an impressive display over 950m. Looks a handy type and should be around the mark.

3 Yandy Blue (Bet Now: $19.00) is a son of Blue Point that resumes for Jim Taylor. This guy is first up, having not raced since July 16 when down the track on debut at Northam. Given a good break and his trial work has been strong so watch the market.

8 Celebrity Angel (Bet Now: $7.50) to resume a winner for Team Pearce. She hasn’t raced since Oct 16 at Northam when wide no cover for the trip and the hard run just told on her late. Loved the way she went in a recent trial win with Chris Parnham aboard, and he sticks with her for the return.

9 Free To Fly (Bet Now: $3.10) steps up to 1100m after a returning second over 1000m at Belmont, trying hard from near the speed but in a driving go, just couldn’t quite get there. Fitter and up in trip, she only runs well.

12 Flying Joma (Bet Now: $41.00) is a daughter of Flying Artie that debuts for Jim Taylor. She has had a couple of 1000m trials to get ready for start one this time in and hasn’t looked too bad to my eye. Maps to get a sweet run so don’t dismiss.

5 Order Online (Bet Now: $5.00) is the way I am leaning. He ran over this trip last Wednesday at Belmont where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing in a really good effort. If he can settle closer, he’ll take holding out.

2 Espinho (Bet Now: $3.30) is a Team Gangemi trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Oct 8 when far from disgraced at Sale. Was with Team Freedman but is now with the Gangemi boys, a stable very good with a tried horse, and his recent trial was strong.

4 Earl It Is (Bet Now: $27.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m here. He got into a decent spot in transit just off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job, and I do think back to 1000m is ideal. He can run a much improved race.

7 Moonwalk (Bet Now: $3.30) on top for me, and clearly. She hasn’t raced since Feb 15 when second over 1500m here when closing with purpose behind the Stakes performed The Crimson Pirate. Fresh legs at 1400m, she’ll need luck from the gate but if she gets it, she’ll take beating.

8 Nickelplay (Bet Now: $3.90) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. She ran over this track/distance last start when off speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Zorbrist. Hard fit, kind map in her corner, she appeals.

11 Aurora Queen (Bet Now: $15.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over 1500m at Pinjarra where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was pretty good late. Dangerous if within range on the turn.

2 Hewilldous (Bet Now: $12.00) each way for me in the get out. He ran over 1400m here where he got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway in a good effort. If he can get a drag into the race, he’ll be hard to hold out at a price.

4 Starating (Bet Now: $5.50) should be better for the first up run, which came over this trip at Pinjarra. He got off speed and was held up at times but got clear and surged hard late when second. Better for the run, he appeals.

7 Arrangement (Bet Now: $5.50) was a last start maiden winner over this trip at Pinjarra, giving them a start and a beating in a solid effort. Harder here, but off a win, kind map again, he has to be given some level of respect.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 6 Midnight Star

LONG SHOT: Race Ten Number 2 Hewilldous
