Good Friday racing in Victoria heads to Yarra Valley, headlined by the Country Discovery (1200m). Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

6 Princess Duhallow (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. She did that down the straight at Flemington a few weeks back and tried to see it through but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Hedged. Looks the leader and with that, will take running down.

9 Flying Temptress (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented mare for Clinton McDonald that resumes. She only had one run when last in work, which came on August 25 at Geelong when working home well enough without threatening behind Liberty Steps. Jumpout work leading in has been quite strong and this isn’t an overly deep race.

1 Projeto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the quick back up for Peter Maher after racing last Friday at Albury in the Flat Knacker over 900m when a solid third to Sparring, who would be near odds on against this lot, so I do think that form reads well enough for a race like this. Definite winning hope.

4 Musgrave (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one. Ciaron Maher trained gelding that ran over 2040m at The Valley last time…well, I say ran, but it was pretty much a barrier trial. He got badly held up when seemingly having plenty to offer so be very forgiving of the run behind stablemate Lauding. Drawn out, so should get clear air this time around, and the depth here isn’t as deep.

3 Kentucky Nick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been a model of consistency this time in for Team McEvoy and should be around the mark again. Gave them a spanking in a moderate race at Ararat two back before going to the Parks track at Morphettville when just off the speed and he presented to win but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Master Of Zerprise. Not a deep race this so he commands respect.

2 Right Now (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds for Richard Laming. He ran over 2040m at The Valley last time out when resuming. He was wide no cover, doing too much work and tired late to finish down the track behind Fagin. Think with better racing manners, finding cover, he’s an improver at odds.

4 Amleto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an each way gamble here for me. UK stayer that makes his Australian debut for Ciaron Maher. He hasn’t been seen since August 2 at Goodwood when placing over 2400m. He will get better as the races get longer but he closed off strongly in a recent Cranbourne jumpout and gets M Zahra first up.

3 Fire Of Etna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in for Team Freedman and commands respect. This mare comes here off the back of a strong win over 1500m at Sandown when getting the dream run in transit behind the speed before angling clear and she knuckled down strongly to win and win well. Hard to knock the way she’s racing.

1 Falcon Of Malta (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Fiorente for Michael Moroney that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Geelong Cup Day when tailed off last, not pulling up 100% post race. He does have a good fresh record and has jumped out well leading in so keen to see how he goes. Watch the market.

8 Heavenly Eagle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning. Stephen Brown trained gelding that resumed over 1300m at Bendigo where he got back to near last in the run, spotting those in front a tidy start but I really liked the way he found the line late in the piece behind Bellini Miss. Fitter and up in trip, gets in well after the claim and has more upside than most.

3 Party At Artie’s (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m but he is flying for Chris Calthorpe. He ran over the mile at Caulfield in the Country Final where he got a fair way out of his ground but he was quite good late when fourth to Titan Of Choice. Back in trip, I think, is okay, and maps to get a sweet run in transit.

7 Crown Crusher (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run an improved race at odds. He comes through the Caulfield race mentioned above where he got back too near last in the run and did make up ground but was never really a factor behind Titan Of Choice. Back in trip I do like and if he can settle closer in the run, he’s dangerous.

2 New York Hurricane (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have come back in really good order for Liam Howley and should take beating against these. He has really caught the eye in both runs this prep, resuming at Wangaratta over 1300m before going to 1400m at Geelong where he got back and found the line really well behind Belthil. Hard fit now, can use the inside gate to advantage, he’ll take beating.

8 Oh Too Good (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been strong in two career outings for Kevin Daffy. Both runs have come at Pakenham, debuting with a win over 1200m before going to 1400m when on speed and she tried her guts out but just found one better in Mislead, who has run well at Stakes level since. Good racing style and gets D Lane. Likeable.

4 Gangitano (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has always shown promise since day one but hasn’t really put it together. That changed last time out when an all the way winner in an Echuca maiden, with a class edge coming to the fore. Good racing style and now off a win, he can certainly go on with it.

6 Reo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a great each way gamble here. Richard Laming trained mare that ran over 1500m at The Valley last Saturday where she got too far back in the run and was never a factor behind Sir Davy. Like her up in trip, back to Mares grade and gets Winkers on, hopefully to sharpen her up.

11 Makrana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and is in form for Team Kav. Her last two runs have come at the track/distance, bolting up two back before a solid third to Fagin after getting checked at a vital stage. Maps to do no work in the run and she does get B Shinn so she has a bit in her corner.

8 Hoops (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for Danny O’Brien. She resumed over 1500m at Caulfield Heath where she got back to near last in the run and worked home with purpose in a good return behind Shove Over. Tricky gate but like her up in trip and has more upside than most.

10 Bank Maur (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be humming for Richard Laming and is the one for me. He ran two weeks ago in the Bel Esprit at Caulfield where he was a real eye catcher from the back when closing off with real purpose late in the piece behind Brudenell. Blinkers on, so there is clear intent and in a fast run 1200m, he should be strong at the end. Great each way gamble.

3 Brudenell (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beauty for Kris Lees and is hard to beat. He won the Bel Esprit from a fortnight back, getting a beaut run in transit before Zahra angled him clear and he knuckled down strongly to get the win. 1200m is a query but from gate one, he’ll get every chance and be around the mark. Leading contender.

4 General Beau (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a talented animal and his best is good enough. He ran two weeks ago in the Gold Comet at Caulfield where he got back off the speed and kept finding the line in a strong effort in defeat behind Lempicka. Fitter, up in trip, and second up, he appeals as a knockout hope.

3 Holy Racket (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in the get out but it’s not a betting race for mine. Team Williams trains this gelding, who has raced at The Valley in both runs this time in, winning fresh over 1000m before going to 955m four weeks ago when on speed and trying hard but couldn’t sustain the run when third to Celestial Storm. Craig Williams to steer, he’ll press forward and take beating.

2 In Her Stride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is absolutely flying for John Salanitri and commands respect. 2/2 this time in, winning impressively fresh at Morphettville before going to Caulfield Heath when on speed and gave plenty under pressure to fend them off and get the job done. Good racing style, in form…she’ll be around the mark.

14 Apres La Mer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will give cheek on speed. She did that last time out at this track/distance and she tried her guts out but couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Eugenius. Racing style gives herself every chance…just a slight query about the last 100m. First four contender.

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 10 Bank Maur

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 6 Reo
