A strong ten race card has been set down for Rosehill on Saturday for Festival Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

11 Jaipur Maison (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was one of a few eye catches from the Max Lees. She debuted there and just found them too sharp early but did like the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Seeiaye. Fitter, 1100m, home track advantage, she’s right in the mix.

2 Dr Hook (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred colt for Team Hawkes that debuts off the back of a trial win here. He seemed to move very well I thought and had plenty in hand to my eye in a nice piece of work. Maps to settle near the speed and be hard to beat.

10 Tigroni (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Tiger Of Malay filly on debut for the O’Shea/Charlton camp. She has had a couple of trials under the belt to get ready for start one and for the most part has been pretty good, the latest seeing her win here. Market will be the main guide but think she has ability.

9 Strawberry Impact (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like 2000m will be ideal. He got too far out of his ground two weeks back at Newcastle and was quite one paced when asked for the effort but he stayed on and kept finding the line. Bursting to win, has to be given another chance.

4 Perfect Justice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is putting together a decent little record and is in the mix here. He ran second at Newcastle two weeks ago when near the speed throughout and was there to win but just couldn’t quite get there when second to Djapana. 2000m should be fine, he’s in the mix.

2 Claim The Crown (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a pest for John Sargent, predominantly from a betting perspective. He comes back to 2000m after racing over 2400m at Rosehill and tried hard but just couldn’t quite get there. Not sure he wins but a must for multiples.

2 Satin Stiletto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has some really strong form around her and if she’s ready to go, I say she is hard to beat. Her last run was June 21 in a 1200m Highway at Randwick when attempting to lead throughout and she gave a strong kick from the front but had no answers late for Calico Miss. Fresh at 1100m, market will be the guide, but I think she has the runs on the board to take this out.

6 Lady Olenna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is ready to go I say. Sharp mare for the Messara/Gavranich camp that resumes, having not raced since the Denise’s Joy during the Scone Carnival when outclassed, finishing down the track behind Summer Flame. Loved her trial work leading in and fresh at 1100m looks ideal.

19 Dee Dee Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong in three runs for Matty Dale. She ran second over 1200m at Nowra on Nov 2 when attempting to lead throughout and tried hard but had no answers left for La Nina. Back to 1100m with fresh legs, she appeals.

1 Meridiana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good mare for John Sargent and keen to be with her here. Enormous in defeat in the Four Pillars two back before making amends in style at Newcastle, sitting wide throughout but she was far too good in the run to the line. Flying this girl, keen on her chances.

7 Agita (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a couple of weeks between runs since a track/distance win, sitting just off speed before being presented clear air and in a driving go, he was able to get the job done. He’s found winning form, home track advantage, he appeals.

3 Brosnan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with his best. Ryan/Alexiou trained gelding that has placed his past two, the latest being here three weeks bak behind Luskaie. Hard horse to catch but he does seem to click with Nash.

This is very aggressive placement by 12 Micro Mikki (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but I am not surprised they are having a throw at the stumps because he looks to be absolutely humming. Short course type for Brett Robb who would be $1.50 if they found a country sprint race but he comes here and his recent trial win at Wellington…goodness he went like a rocket. Keen to see how he goes.

3 Lyles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) raced on a Fast 1 at Eagle Farm three weeks ago but even allowing for that, he was so impressive over 1000m, drawing clear late and was strong to the line. Short course specialist, he’ll take a power of beating.

6 Mailata (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice horse for Bryce Heys. Loved the welcomed drop in grade/depth at Gosford last start, getting a positive ride from Zac and he was dominant in the run to the line. He’s in winning form, has versatility re racing style, he’ll run really well.

11 Southern Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the straight bat option after a Highway win two back at Randwick before going to the Hair Of The Dog at Gundagai when off speed and worked home really well when second. 2000m is ideal, she takes beating.

3 Tavros (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Craig Martin. He comes through The Little Dance where he got too far out of his ground and while he was never threatening, I really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Osipenko. If within range, he has the finale to launch and take this out.

20 Deel Me A Queen (Bet Now:  $SP.00) only runs well. Bullock gave her a sore back at Scone last start, sitting wide no cover for a fair chunk of the race and I think the petrol tickets burning during that period cost her in the end. That was over 2200m so that should toughen her up for this 2000m assignment.

7 Imperial Force (Bet Now:  $SP.00) tried his guts out over this trip on Cup Day at Randwick. He was near the speed and was there to win but just couldn’t quite see it through when a close up fourth. Good racing style and is dangerous with his best.

5 Zealously (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was scratched from The Warra in preference for this, and ideally finding firmer footing. He has been kept on ice since Oct 18 when placing in the Caulfield Sprint behind a pretty good horse in Rey Magnerio. Fresh legs, short course specialist, he is hard to beat.

6 Romeo’s Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) did a really good job behind Estadio Mestalla on Cup Day when wide throughout and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. With luck in running, he’s a threat at odds.

1 Robusto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is here to run really well I say. He resumed in The Hunter where he just found them a bit sharp but he stayed on and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Coal Crusher. Fitter and up in trip, good racing style, he’ll run a beauty with eyes towards The Ingham.

10 Yorkshire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) could blow these away or he is done for the prep. No idea what to do with him because he was horrendous in The Hunter but was found post race to have had Cardiac Arrhythmia. Maps to stalk the speed and be effective late.

2 Waterford (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran a much improved race in The Gong last Saturday. He was safely held by Gringotts but was far from disgraced. Tricky draw but off last run, he’s in the mix.

8 Imperialist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since a Rosehill Cup effort web second to stablemate Wootton Verni where he tried hard but had no answers late. Racing really well at present and this isn’t a deep contest.

2 Unspoken (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 2000m after racing at Flemington during Cup Week when off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was far from disgraced in defeat. Better suited here, he’s sneaky flying I suspect and can threaten here.

16 Mr Waterville (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1850m two weeks back at Newcastle. He got too far back and while he was never threatening, he did keep on chasing in a good effort in defeat. Not sure he wins, but he can certainly run top four.

4 Maid Of Moolah (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a genuine mare for Peter Snowden that comes to town off the back of a win at Newcastle when on speed and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and win. Good racing style, a line finder…commands respect.

8 Lunaite (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs for Paul Snowden since a Highway win here when given a 12/10 by Looker and the mare finished best. Win here and the stable can think of a Country Championship.

13 Hyperbolic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed at the midweeks here when ridden off speed in a slowly run race and tried hard but the race shape was against. Better suited here, definitely in the mix.
