27/10/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Bendigo, Bendigo Cup day

2 Schuhbeck (Bet Now: $2.15) has had numerous chances to break the maiden tag but is an honest customer that shouldn’t be far off. Market wanted to be with him first up at Benalla and seemed to have every chance when a close up third. He gets the Blinkers back on and run of the race from the draw.

10 Psycho Star (Bet Now: $4.00) is an improving filly who should relish 1400m. Needed the run on debut at Kilmore. Then went to 1200m at Warrnambool and closed off with real purpose from the back when third to Night Eclipse. Up to 1400m, upside to come, hard to beat.

3 The Honourable One (Bet Now: $12.00) looks the pick of the first starters. Shane Fliedner trains on the track and he can produce a first starter for their Cup Day. He jumped out well on the track a couple of weeks when third behind a couple of seasoned campaigners, Vungers and Tatunka. That reads well for this.

7 Forbes (Bet Now: $3.30) should be winning…shouldn’t he? He just has the superior form lines to anything engaged here. Yes, his barrier manners are horrific, but really, he just has to get away safe, get clear air at the right time, and I think he has the engine under the hood to put a margin on this lot.

4 Bank Bank Bank (Bet Now: $18.00) looks a nice type for Michael Moroney. Led and tired late on debut at Geelong. Freshened up and ran over 1000m here when ridden cold and loved the way he attacked the line when third to Express Master. Drawn much better to sit much closer in the run, he’s the key threat.

10 Extreme Emotion (Bet Now: $2.30) is a big watch here. Kym Hann first starter on Cup Day in a race the stable sponsors…off the jumpout, I couldn’t entertain her, but the stable rarely misfire when they send one out for a first start and drawn soft, I’d watch the market with her.

I think this race sets up perfect for 1 Brenlyn’s Trooper (Bet Now: $5.00), who resumes for Sylvia Thompson. This talented four year old hasn’t raced since an excellent second to Free To Move in the Creswick, just missing in a tight finish. Two jumpouts to get ready, he should park off a hot speed and have last look.

5 The Billionaire (Bet Now: $1.80) is a speed demon for Team Fredman that was beautifully placed by the camp when bolting up at Morphettville, with sustained speed coming to the fore. He’ll cop more pressure this time around on speed, but hard to knock the way he’s going at the moment.

6 Royal Tyke (Bet Now: $35.00) lacks the class of some of these but should get a lovely sit off the fast speed and a sneaky first four chance. Little luck first up at Swan Hill behind Easy Single. He then went to Echuca where he bungled the start and that sealed his fate. If he can jump clean, he’s in with a shout.

I’m going to take a chance with 3 Jimmy The Bear (Bet Now: $5.50). Patrick Payne trained three year old who was backed with confidence on debut at Mildura and the bets were landed. Gee he was impressive. Did plenty wrong but loved the way he put them away. Liked the tick over trial and finds a winnable 3YO race.

1 Brooklyn Boss (Bet Now: $6.50) looks a nice type. Debuted in a Ballarat maiden where he took a little while to get into his work but when he knuckled down, he put them away with authority and was impressive. Oriental Legend ran second and goes around in the first, so you’ll know by race time here how strong that form is.

7 Toby Xpress (Bet Now: $12.00) has the Extreme Warrior form, which is red hot, so I think he commands respect. That run on debut was strong before getting the maiden win out of the way at Avoca and despite the margin being narrow, he had merit I thought. Think he can run a positive race.

4 Tatunka (Bet Now: $4.40) has a fab record at Bendigo and each way, I think he’s worth a ticket. Ran on Horsham Cup Day where he had a wide gate, so Harry dragged back to near last and worked to the line strongly behind a good one, Riot And Rose. Draws much better and can settle much closer in the run. He’ll take beating.

1 Vungers (Bet Now: $6.50) saves his best for his home track here so he commands respect. He resumes, having not raced since the Swan Hill Cup where he ran a game and close up fourth to Adelaide Ace. Thought he went great in a recent jumpout here and gets in pretty well after the claim.

8 Laffalong (Bet Now: $7.50) can bounce back for Nigel Blackiston. She produced an electric finale to win two back at Cranbourne before going to the Ladies Day Vase on Thousand Guineas Day at Caulfield and was okay late from the back. Back to 78 grade, she can bounce back.

6 Real Gun (Bet Now: $3.20) on top. Sustained speed from the front saw him bolt up at Echuca, running fast time from the front and giving nothing else a look in. Inside gate to hunt up, lead and from there, he’ll take a power of beating, and I don’t see back to 1100m being an issue.

13 Duchess Of Dorset (Bet Now: $2.40) looks a progressive type for Symon Wilde. Backed with confidence late at Warrnambool and under a lovely steer from Holland, she was able to dash late and was strong to the line in winning. Harder here, but confident she can measure up here.

7 Upper East Side (Bet Now: $19.00) looks to be racing well for an out of form Hobson camp. He caught the eye two back in a 955m at the Valley. He then went to Echuca and got back, but was quite good late in the piece behind El Salto. Not sure I could back him to win, but a must for exotics.

1 Amade (Bet Now: $5.50) is bursting to win for Phillip Stokes. His Geelong Cup effort was enormous I thought. Tardy to begin and didn’t get the clearest of paths in the straight but loved the way he closed off behind Tralee Rose. He’s got upside to come and up to 2400m on the big track, he’ll take beating.

5 Tooradin (Bet Now: $5.00) deserves another chance. He comes through the Herbert Power where he led at a crawl before Olly made the move on Delphi and it just broke the heart of Tooradin. He should get a soft time of it on speed here with Meech steering, so he can bounce back here.

2 Mosh Music (Bet Now: $10.00) isn’t going too bad I feel. Comes through the Bart Cummings where she got a fair way back in the run. Was never really a winning threat, but her finale was more than sound behind Grand Promenade. If she brings her best, she’s capable of being in the finish.

Fitter and up to the mile, I like 12 Rousseau (Bet Now: $6.00). Chris Waller trained four year old that resumed over 1400m at Ballarat where he got back to near last in the run but worked home strongly behind Hickok, in what is turning out to be a red hot form race. Really good set up for him here, he can get three wide cover and launch late.

I want to give 2 Marsannay (Bet Now: $5.50) another chance. I was red hot on his chances first up on Pinker Pinker Night at Cranbourne and after a soft run on speed, he looked the one 600m out, but gee he found little when asked for the big effort. Fitter and up to the mile, his Sydney form just reads so well.

6 Daqiansweet Junior (Bet Now: $4.80) will be better suited at 2000m+, but I think he’s capable of figuring in the finish. First run for the Stokes camp came on Moe Cup Day and worked home strongly from the back in a good effort. That was at the mile and remains at the mile here, so that’s the knock, but he’ll be strong at the end.

11 Adandiman (Bet Now: $11.00) on top in the get out. Bit of guessing involved here given he returns as a gelding, but I think he goes pretty good. Three runs to start his career in the Summer, highlighted by a spank job on debut at Geelong in a high rating maiden. Liked the way he closed off in a recent Murtoa jumpout and double figures seems more than acceptable.

14 Maybe The Best… (Bet Now: $2.20) is she too short? No doubting she has ability and is hard to beat here, but $2.50/thereabouts seems rock bottom for a mare who has had every chance both runs back, albeit first up ran second to Scissor Step, who has Extreme Warrior form and went super in the Red Anchor on Saturday. Form is strong…price is too short. I think you’ll get $3+ come jump time.

8 Quiet Lucky (Bet Now: $16.00) hasn’t gone too bad in three runs back from a freshen up. Couple of solid runs in town before a closing effort at Benalla last start behind Kohli, who ran a beauty last Wednesday at Geelong, so the form reads well and Johnny Allen steers.

BEST BET: Race Seven Number 1 Amade

NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 1 Brenlyn’s Trooper

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 11 Adandiman
