2 The Mobot (Bet Now: $2.20) is 3/3 to start his career for the Maher/Eustace stable that should go close here. Last run came over 1100m at Tatura when on speed before being clicked up by Harry Coffey and showed good change up speed to win impressively. Subsequent form around her has been quite good, she looks the leader and the claim for Teo Nugent is a big tick.

3 I Am (Bet Now: $2.50) is a Team McEvoy trained filly that was hard in the market when racing at this trip on the course proper two weeks ago when wide no cover for the trip yet looked to travel well before taking the front, only allowing for Shamino to get the split and that horse got up right on the peg. If she can get a more economical run in transit, she’ll take some beating.

5 Kalamon (Bet Now: $61.00) is an interesting one. The Jolly stable trains this three year old, who didn’t set the world on fire fresh at Bordertown before going to a Non TAB meet at Jamestown when winning, and there has been okay subsequent form from that maiden. Form from the first prep does read well, and he comes here in winning form. Perhaps one for multiples.

3 Hasta La War (Bet Now: $4.60) looks really hard to beat. Sue Murphy has a progressive stayer on her hands here with this guy, who took on four rivals at Penola last time and she made a mess of them. Didn’t beat much, but he rightfully put them away and won with real class and authority. Did place in town four back, so proven at this level, and he finds a really winnable metro race.

1 Boomstock (Bet Now: $1.65) is a Price/Kent trained stayer that had been bursting to win a race for some time and it finally came to fruition on Cranbourne Cup Day when off the pace before Jamie Kah presented him wider on the turn and finishing best, spanking his rivals in a much needed confidence boost. Now he has that under the belt, he can go right on with it.

5 King Valour (Bet Now: $10.00) is racing really well at the moment for Grant Young. Went down narrowly to Franked two weeks ago before backing up at Murray Bridge last Friday and under a lovely front running steer from Dom Tourneur, he was too good for his rivals. This race doesn’t appear overly strong on paper and he has the right racing pattern, so he’s hard to beat.

With Celtic Blast out, this race does set up well for 6 Miss Jane (Bet Now: $1.95) first up. Paul Seater trains this talented mare, who is fresh, having not raced since November 17 when on speed and kicking on strongly to score a narrow but impressive win. Liked the recent Murray Bridge and with the claim, gee she gets in well, and overall, this isn’t an overly strong race.

Want to give 2 Benz (Bet Now: $4.00) another chance. He was good two back behind Celtic Blast before racing in the feature sprint on Murray Bridge Cup Day when run off his legs and couldn’t really pick up behind Equal Love. More suited here I think and if he brings anything of the effort that he produced behind Celtic Blast, he’ll run a beauty and give this a shake.

5 Irish Mint (Bet Now: $4.00) is one for multiples. He had a little freshen up prior to racing at Port Lincoln where he looked a good thing on paper but didn’t find much in the straight when asked for an effort, finishing fifth to Artful Rambler, beaten three lengths. Form out of that has been good and perhaps will be better off with the run under the belt. Knockout chance.

11 Sunstone (Bet Now: $2.20) is a well bred daughter of Proisir who was heavily backed when debuting over 1200m at Murray Bridge when wide no cover for the trip but at the same time, her finale was a tad weak when second to Outpost. She was wide no cover, but from a punters perspective, she was disappointing. Want to give her another chance in a winnable maiden.

5 Austin Raider (Bet Now: $16.00) has had numerous chances to break the maiden tag and is having her 22nd attempt here. Ran over 1200m on the course proper last Saturday and ran well but was clearly no match for the very impressive finale produced by Calypso Reign. Like her back up in trip…could I back her to win? No, but I think she’s an absolute must for exotics.

12 Vali Rose (Bet Now: $13.00) hasn’t been far away in two runs back from a spell for Ryan Balfour. Okay fresh behind Newbay Flyer before racing over 1200m here two weeks ago and ran a close up fifth after getting held up early on in the straight when having something to offer. Third up, so she should be hard fit now and out to 1300m, she rates as one of the knockout hopes.

1 Mysticano (Bet Now: $11.00) is a son of Equiano resuming for the Darren Magro stable. This guy hasn’t raced since December 12 at Gawler (Metro) when running a very close second to Pamela Joy, just missing out after driving late. Been given a good long break and has had two trials in readiness for his return. Can sprint well fresh and his best is good enough to win.

2 Ready Sunshine (Bet Now: $7.00) has found a new lease of life in recent times, winning his past two narrowly but impressively. Last run came at Gawler when wide with cover before peeling wider and finishing best to win, his eighth in 56 outings, so he’s been a ripper for connections over time, and with the claim for Jerry Chau, he looks one of the hardest to beat.

12 Ancient History (Bet Now: $34.00) has been pretty good in two runs back from a spell for the Dean Saxon stable. Resumed with a fast finishing second to River Star before going to Balaklava where he was back in the run and never really a threat but finished off quite good to run fourth to the handy Twice Forgotten. Third up, hard fit now and is another that will sit back and finish off strong.

D-Day for 9 Kenyan Wonder (Bet Now: $7.00). Only have to go back to the Autumn, she started $6 in the Group ll Kewney at Flemington. Now she’s around $7 for a weak Class 3 at Morphettville. On face value, she was disappointing behind Despacito last time, but the pace was an absolute crawl and she had no hope of figuring in the finish. Has a gate to use and the big tick is the stable finds Vorster to steer.

Want to give 4 Be My Star (Bet Now: $3.80) another. Will Clarken trains this former McEvoy runner, who resumed over 1050m two weeks ago on the course proper where she landed on speed and gave a good kick, but just ran out of puff late when fourth to Shamino. Market said she’d need the run and that’s how it panned out. She’ll improve off that and her form when trained by McEvoy does read very well.

3 Exalted Trail (Bet Now: $5.00) is getting back to somewhere near his best form. He was just fair two back behind Celtic Blast before backing up a week later over 1200m on the course proper and worked home very strongly to run second to More Than Exceed. Was well specked in that race and ran accordingly. Like him at 1250m, he’ll be strong late if he gets a cold steer and a good speed in front.

3 Going Gaga (Bet Now: $3.60) gets another chance for me. He is three weeks between runs for Michael Hickmott since racing over 1300m here where he was back in the run on a day where those out wide really struggled to make up significant ground. Big ticks for him is that he gets a dry deck, back up to 1400m and should get run of the race from the gate with Vorster to steer.

2 Cannot Be Serios (Bet Now: $7.50) is yet to put a foot wrong in four runs back from a spell. Narrow winner over the mile two back on the course proper prior to racing over 1550m here four weeks ago when second to Marina, who got an absolute picnic in front and was too good, just. Like this horse back to 1400m and he does seem to race well with fresh legs.

8 Bwuva (Bet Now: $9.00) is bursting to win a race. He’s going really well for Ryan Balfour but he just can’t quite crack it for a win. Beat all bar Little Akie here two back before going to Gawler when doing a bit of work in the run with the big weight and he couldn’t finish it off and win when third. Gets right down in the weights now and if he can get near the speed without spending too many petrol tickets, he’ll be dangerous.

I’m confident that 5 Carlaluisa (Bet Now: $7.50) can turn the tables on Despacito. There was a lip separating this pair two weeks ago on the course proper, and it was a rare poor ride from Jerry Chau. Just went too slow on Carlaluisa, which allowed Despacito to sit closer in the run and that was the difference between winning and losing. Hopefully she’s allowed to roll along on speed.

Taking nothing away from the win of 4 Despacito (Bet Now: $2.70), who was first up. Credit to Vorster, who took advantage of the slow tempo to sit just off the speed before getting an inside split and her class got her home, just, though she was out of tickets late. Not quite as effective second up, but she’s got that winning feeling, her confidence is up, and stable is going well.

6 Enough Swagger (Bet Now: $11.00) is a handy mare who was completely unwanted in betting when racing over 1300m here three weeks ago in a race where Equus D’Oro just dominated proceedings from the front and gave nothing else a look in, but found the line really strongly to run second. A fast run 1300m should suit her and she can sit closer in the run.
