Nine races will be run and won at Doomben on Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

5 Tessatori (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect. Chris Meagher trains this filly, who was a track/distance winner last time, getting the beaut run in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Off a win, she can go on with it.

1 Mister Bianco (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice horse on the up for Paul Shailer. He was a strong winner two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast, lapping up the 1300m and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. He’s heading in the right direction and no reason why he can’t win again.

9 Cherry Lips (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a knockout hope. Brenton Andrew trained filly that resumed with a bang when winning fresh over 1400m, getting a suck run in transit before angling clear and knuckled down strongly late to score. Bit of depth to this line up but I am confident she can measure up.

11 Tannenburg (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs for Chris Waller since racing at this track/distance. He got back to last in the run and worked home with purpose in a good effort when third to stablemate Super Chilled. If he can settle closer, he will prove to be a leading chance.

10 More Trouble (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given respect. He ran a few weeks back behind Madame Odette when near the speed and he tried hard but just lacked the finale to go with them late in the piece behind the Gollan mare. Good racing style, I am not dismissing him.

7 Triple Money (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be in for a really good prep. Paul Shailer trained gelding that resumed two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast and was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing off with real purpose late in the piece behind Better Be Nordy. Fitter and up to the mile, he’ll take a power of beating.

13 Pleadeel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is 1/1 at Doomben and is a sneaky chance at odds. She ran over 2100m at Lismore last time out where she was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing off strongly from near last on the turn when fourth to Castel Trosino. If she’s within range, she has the finale to be dangerous at a price.

8 Our Anchorage (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one to beat, clearly, but for mine he’s just way too short. He attempted to lead throughout at Randwick two weeks ago and gave a strong kick from the front but couldn’t quite see it through when third to Awesome Wonder, who would be $1.50 against these, so that form clearly reads well.

6 Hector De Maris (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is unknown at the trip but I think he’ll be fine at it. He ran behind Zaphod two weeks back at the Sunny Coast when on speed and he tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through, finishing fourth. Not sure I could back him to win but one for exotics.

2 Warby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win and I think he gets his chance here. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since July 13 here when off the speed and chased strongly, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to Deep Respect. Tick over trial was good and if he brings his best, holds his form at least, he’ll be winning.

19 Hell (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Nick Walsh trained gelding that has simply been too good for them in North Queensland and now the stable are sending him to test and see just how good he can be. Last run was July 28 when a strong winner at Townsville and the tick over trial was sharp. Keen to see how he goes.

13 Ready Azz Eva (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good record at Doomben and can certainly bounce back. He ran two weeks back at the Sunny Coast and seemed to get a decent enough run in transit but when asked for an effort, he was quite plain in the straight and disappointing in the run to the line behind Better Be Nordy. Back to where he races best, he’s a big improver I say.

10 Sizzling Gal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) picks herself I feel. She was a big price last Saturday but the arrogance of the win was something else, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. That was her first run in several weeks so with good room for improvement, she’s the one to beat for me.

6 Osman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Mack Griffith and rates highly off a win in the Forbes Cup, which secured himself a start if his rating is high enough in the Big Dance. He was on speed at Forbes and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found and was too good. Harder here, but confident he measures up.

7 Heleva Deel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Mark Currie trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since May 6 at Ipswich when somewhat on the plain side, producing an end of prep run over 2150m. First up at the mile signals some level of intent and is dangerous at odds.

11 Avone (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and I think she can go on with it for Team Sears. Dominant win two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast. She was absolutely trucking in the run. Just a matter of pushing the button from Felon and once she did, the mare put the race to bed and was quite dominant in the run to the line. Only has to run up to last time and I think she wins again.

5 Queen Assassin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an on speed mare for Nick Walsh that comes to town off a win at Townsville when getting a suck run in transit near the speed before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Good test here, but with her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.

6 Muschialli (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a fast run race. Tony Gollan trained gelding that ran over 1110m here a few weeks ago where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never really a winning threat, his finale was quite good in defeat behind Brereton. He does seem suited at the short course and will charge late.

13 Miss Tambo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets the nod but not really a race I want to get involved in. Tony Gollan trained mare that resumes, having not raced since Dec 9 at Eagle Farm when back and making up solid headway late in the piece behind Willinga Freefall. Good fresh horse and her trial was quite good.

21 Lovewillcomelater (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of So You Think for Barry Lockwood that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Australia Day when placing at Eagle Farm behind Damo Dayz in a race which had depth to it. He has looked strong in trial work so watch the market and see what it does.

3 Starry Eyes (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Chris Anderson and is capable for sure. His last run came on April 27 at Eagle Farm when back off the speed and kept chasing in a good effort when a close up third to In Evidence. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and his recent trial win was sharp. Can certainly take this out.

1 Boom Torque (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat for Matty Dunn. He resumed over 1050m here three weeks ago. He got back to near last in the run and spotted those in front too much head start but his finale was great in defeat behind Vodka Martini. Fitter and up in trip, good luck beating him if he can settle closer.

4 Manhood (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win for the Neasham/Archibald camp. Track/distance placing from three weeks back, chasing strongly but couldn’t get past the in form mare My Snow Queen, who won again last Saturday to frank the form. Hard to beat against this lot.

5 Ralphie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the leading contenders. He was met with market support two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast. Unfortunately he was nearer the inside and I don’t think that was the A1 ground so be forgiving of the effort behind Liquor. Like him up in trip and can take this out.

10 Tidal Creek (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way to go in the get out. Stuart Kendrick trained gelding that attempted to lead throughout last Saturday at this track/distance and he did give a very strong kick but he couldn’t quite see it through, run down late by Sizzling Gal. Right down in the weights, good racing style and this race has thinned out after scratchings.

13 Arts Object (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Kurt Goldman and commands respect. Three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, giving them a start and a beating in a pretty impressive display. She does seem to race best with fresh legs and this race, as a whole, isn’t overly deep.

7 Nikau Spur (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Geran trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since June 22 when down the track in the Ipswich Cup behind Red Wave. He’ll likely be spotting them a start but I do think 1600m fresh signals some form of intent.

BEST BET: Race Six Number 11 Avone

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 1 Boom Torque

LONG SHOT: Race Three Number 13 Pleadeel
