Playing a straight bat with 13 Valentina Charm (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00). She resumed last Wednesday at Balaklava where she just looked a bit rusty in the straight and while she was solid to the line, she was simply no match for Queen In The North, who was bursting to win a maiden and duly saluted. Fitter and up to 1200m, can settle closer, she’ll take beating.

Danger

4 Cool The Jets (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag and once again finds another winnable race. He resumed at Murray Bridge over 1000m when off the speed from the wide gate but came with a well timed run and looked the winner but couldn’t finish it off when second to Thebigsosso. Gets a good set up this time around and the big tick for him is getting to 1200m.

Long Shot

1 Dante Alexander (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is one I couldn’t back to win but for wider multiples, I can certainly entertain him. He ran on testing ground at Casterton last time and struggled to pick his feet up late in the conditions behind Zeydana. Firmer footing this time around, I think he can run a much improved race and is a first four contender.

Race 2. (12:37) Clinical Labs Mdn Plate 1050m

6 Ouroboros (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) on top in an open 2YO race IMO. Price/Kent trains this Harry Angel colt that debuted at Sandown in December when on speed and fought on pretty well in defeat when second to Serasana in a good effort. He’s had several jumpouts back to April to get ready for his return and usually when the stable comes to SA, it is for a kill, so hopefully the market agrees.

Danger

14 Te Pani (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) can run an improved race for the Macdonald/Gluyas camp, provided they ride her with a sit. They rode her quite warm a few weeks back on the Parks track and I reckon it backfired as it left her without much left for the straight when fourth to Bolted In. Bunny to chase, a more conservative steer, she can bounce back into positive form because the run prior in the David Coles was a beauty.

Long Shot

9 Desert Dancing (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) should appreciate firmer footing and getting back in trip. She debuted over 1200m at Gawler on testing ground and looked to truck in front but when asked for the effort, the wheels were spinning when third to Sentimental Belle. Back in trip and on a firmer deck, she can run a much improved race.

Race 3. (13:12) Fullhammer (Bm68) 1500m

Back Me

1 Solar Blast (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) took a little while to find winning form but he’s now looking to make it three wins on the bounce. Broke the maiden status in style two back at Gawler before proving that was no fluke at Murray Bridge a few weeks back where he was near the speed throughout, a genuine speed, and was there to be beaten, but he found and kept on fighting to win well. Hard to knock the way he’s going.

Danger

2 Ballon D’Or (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1500m for the Clarken/O’Shea camp. She placed in the Adelaide Guineas before having a mini break and going to 1250m on the Parks track two weeks back and was pretty good from off the speed without threatening behind Noble Magnate. Fitter and up in trip, she clearly appeals IMO.

Long Shot

3 Chipson (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is one of the key chances. Jeff Searle trains this guy, that comes to town off the back of a maiden win over 1400m at Murray Bridge, where he gave them a start and a beating, launching late to finish over the top for a big win. His confidence is up, he has upside to come and IMO he can certainly measure up.

Race 4. (13:37) Peter Elberg Funerals (Bm68) 1500m

8 Turfitt (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. Richards/Moyle trained mare that ran over 1400m on the Parks track two weeks ago where she got into a beaut spot behind the speed from the gate. Just a matter of getting clear and once Tourneur was able to get the split, the mare let down well to win narrowly but I thought it was impressive. That was her first run in several weeks so you’d like to think there is upside and room for improvement.

Danger

1 Rialtor (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has the right racing pattern to give himself every chance. Stuart Padman trained gelding that looked a moral when racing on the Parks track a fortnight back and I thought the ride from Logan was a treat. Sent him straight to the front, got complete control and that was the end of the race, maintaining a safe margin to the line. More depth here, but will look the winner for a long way.

Long Shot

Fitter and up to 1500m are two big ticks for 6 Crypto Currency (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00). He was somewhat unwanted in betting when resuming over 1200m at Murray Bridge and just found the trip too short for his liking when down the track behind Saville, who is in form. Might want one more and a further rise in trip, but he has run well at this level before in town, so don’t entirely dismiss him.

Race 5. (14:22) House Inspect Australia (Bm86) 1200m

4 Metro Legend (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has returned in super order for Aaron Bain and is one of the hardest to beat here. He ran two weeks ago on the Parks track here where Opperman took him straight to the front and once he got front end control, it was race over and he was far too good for them. Not sure he’ll get it as easy this time around but he was only second up so he should have plenty of room for improvement.

Danger

2 Picargo (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a key threat. Ryan Balfour trained gelding that surprised most with a win at Murray Bridge before backing that up with a gutsy second on the Parks track a fortnight back, where he had the suck run behind the speed and tried hard but couldn’t get past Metro Legend. hard fit now and back onto the course proper, he’s one of the leading chances.

Long Shot

8 Extra Mile (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has been up a little while but is holding his form pretty well. He had late specking at a price in the Metro Legend race from two weeks back and he had his chance on speed, sitting outside Metro Legend, and just lacked the change up speed to go with him late, finishing third. Not sure I could back him to win but a must for multiples.

Race 6. (14:57) Hindmarsh Plumbing Labs (Bm78) 2500m

5 Ferago (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. He did more than enough fresh during the Warrnambool Carnival behind Bold Bourbon before going to 2100m on the Lakeside track where he was one paced in the straight and just battled late when third to Khoekhoe. Hard fit now and up to 2500m, he appeals.

Danger

7 Dixie Whistler (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a ripper for the Richards/Moyle camp and I think has to be respected. Narrow second over this trip two back at Murray Bridge before going to the Parks track two weeks ago where she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to fend them off and was strong to the line in winning. 2500m is no issue and will be stronger than most at the end.

Long Shot

3 Canford (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is knocking on the door to win. He was a drifter in betting on the Parks track a fortnight back but I thought he ran a very credible race from off the speed, finding the line with purpose when a close up third to Dixie Whistler, beaten 0.6L. 2500m is no issue for him and the way he is racing and finding the line, he has to be respected.

10 Queen In The North (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) has finally got a maiden win on the board and she can go on with it now IMO. That win came last Wednesday at Balaklava where she got a sweet run in transit from gate one and just kept railing up before getting clear air and she let down with purpose to win impressively. This isn’t a deep race so confident she can go close to taking this out.

Danger

1 Declared (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a ripper for David Jolly that commands respect. He hasn’t raced since May 3 when a strong winner at Murray Bridge where he was just off the speed throughout before angling into clear air and in a driving finish, got the job done. Kept on ice and the tick over trial win last week was sharp, so keen to see how he goes.

Long Shot

4 Danish Fortune (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is a Darren McLeod trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since March 24 when far from disgraced in the Albury Cup over 2000m behind Beltoro, who would be $1.10 in a race like this. Can’t find a recent jumpout for him but can sprint well fresh and strikes a winnable race.

5 Big Shaq (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) looks a big dope but clearly has an engine under the hood. Market wanted him with confidence last start at Gawler on testing ground given his maiden came in that identical set up and he duly saluted, winning impressively over 1100m. Hard fit now and up to 1200m, maps to get an ideal run in transit, he rates highly.

Danger

10 Knightstown (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is finding it hard to win but he should be around the mark. Richards/Moyle trained gelding that ran over 1300m a few weeks back where he didn’t quite use the inside gate to advantage, getting shuffled back, but despite that, he worked to the line quite well I thought when third to Mr Marathon Man. Finding it hard to win but he is racing well enough to be considered a serious chance.

Long Shot

9 Siyata (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is suited back to 1200m for the Clarken/O’Shea camp. She ran over 1400m on the Parks track two weeks back where she got off the speed and loomed to win when presented but the end of 1400m just found her out behind Turfitt. Like her back to 1200m and despite drawing tricky, she should get three/four wide cover and launch late.

Race 9. (16:50) Grand Sydicates (Bm70) 1800m

9 Motell (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is one of the hardest to beat for Jon O’Connor. He ran over 1550m two weeks ago on the Parks track where he got back in a sit/sprint and tried to get involved by slicing his way through the field but the breaks didn’t go his way behind Rialtor, running a close up fourth. Bigger track helps and if he can get clear air earlier, he’ll be hard to hold out.

Danger

4 Platform (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) looks like he will be in for a good prep and fitter, up to 1800m, he’s going to be hard to beat. He resumed a fortnight back over 1550m on the Parks track when sitting outside Rialtor with that pair controlling the tempo and Platform tried his guts out but he just lacked the change up speed to go with Rialtor late in the piece. Might want one more and 2000m+, but off the return, he’ll take beating.

Long Shot

8 Footlights (Bet Now:Β  $SP.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness for Aaron Bain. Just looked in need of the run fresh at Murray Bridge before going to the Parks track two weeks back where the race shape wasn’t to his liking so forgive and forget the run. Gets to a more suitable trip this time around and hard fit, off his Victorian, he can give this a shake.
