Ten races will be run and won at Randwick on Saturday for Carrington Stakes Day. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out six metres for the entire circuit.

2 Zambales (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Pinatubo colt for Team Freedman that debuts. He’s had a couple of trials to get ready, the latest seeing him win over 1050m here, so the grounding is well and truly there for start one, and stable are due to fire with their juveniles. Could well start here.

11 Sequinned (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Pinatubo filly that debuts for Chris Waller. She’s had a couple of trials under the belt to get ready for start one and for the most part has been pretty good. J Mac rides and despite the tricky gate, commands respect.

4 Oh Yes She Did (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Kearney trained filly that resumes. She debuted in the Gimcrack and was quite good late from off speed when fourth to Shiki. Looks to have trialled nicely and will be strong at the end.

8 Justela (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was ridden with intent in the Midway at Wyong two weeks back. She was able to settle much closer in the run and did try hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late. I think with a more patient steer, she can run an improved race.

10 Tenbury Wells (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable. He was midfield in the Midway a fortnight back at Wyong. He got off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and wasn’t too bad in defeat behind Oakfield Saturn. If he can settle closer, be within range, he’s dangerous.

2 Promitto (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix for David Atkins. He resumed in the Midway a few weeks back at Randwick where he just found them a bit sharp but he stayed on and was far from disgraced in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, he’s an improver at odds.

15 Micro Mikki (Bet Now:  $SP.00) takes beating here. Far from disgraced fresh at Rosehill over 1100m behind Lyles before going to the Highway a few weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat behind Cougars. Has that 1200m run under the belt and with a more positive ride, he takes beating.

11 Show Em Howl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Robert Agnew trained gelding that resumes, with eyes on the Port Macquarie CC Qualifier. He showed good promise when last in work and his trial work indicates he has come back in super order and will take beating here.

12 Navy Steel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1300m at Taree. He was 1000m to 1300m and did try hard but just couldn’t quite finish the race off. Has that 1300m run under the belt, which holds him in good stead here.

8 Bella Corazon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well and is a live threat. She ran third to Sequista two weeks back at Wyong. Just got shuffled back and on the tight track, that probably sealed her fate, working home really well late in the piece. Back onto the bigger track, she’s in the mix.

1 Pretty Powerful (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has returned really well for Chris Waller and commands respect. Resumed with a bang at Warwick Farm before going to Randwick when off speed and held up but kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought behind Alabama Fox. Key chance.

2 Saint Emilion (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Ciaron Maher trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since the SA Derby when far from disgraced in defeat. Looks to have trialled out well enough, watch the market.

11 Trapalanda (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran second to Sun Gift two weeks ago at Flemington. He was very one paced when asked for the effort but he stayed on and kept finding the line in defeat. If this becomes a genuinely run 2000m, he’ll be last man standing, especially with no weight on his back. Keen.

6 Sounds Unusual (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win and I think he gets a great chance here. He ran over 2100m at Wyong a fortnight back when off speed and was never really threatening but kept chasing and was quite good in defeat behind the in form stablemate Unlimited. Like him back onto the bigger track and takes holding out.

9 Fay’s Angels (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is such an honest bugger for Karen Owen. Tried her guts out a few weeks back at Randwick from off speed but just lacked any real change up speed to win when third to Placid Pearl. I actually think 2000m is ideal vs up in trip and is a key chance.

1 Gatsby’s (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run behind Eye Of The Fire. He got back to last from the wide gate and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece. If he can be within range, he is more than good enough to win.

4 Applaud (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing four weeks ago over 1400m here. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but I reckon 1400m at this level just found him out behind Interjection. Back to 1200m, fresh legs, J Mac, he appeals.

8 Zaragoza (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps back up to 1200m after coming back to 1100m a few weeks back at Randwick in the Midway. He tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through. That said, he was game in defeat when third. He’ll be strong late and is knocking on the door.

3 Sun God (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win I think for Chris Waller. Just got way too far back in The Lakes two weeks ago at Wyong, but loved the way he closed with purpose in the straight behind Chica Mojito. Just needs a half positive steer and I think he’s the winner.

6 Welcometotheshow (Bet Now:  $SP.00) got an all time ride by Froggy to win at Flemington a fortnight back, riding with a cold sit before slicing his way through the pack and savaged the line to score. Good test here but think he can measure up.

2 Hellsing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m here when wide no cover for the trip and that hard run just told on him late in the piece behind Cool Jakey. Think with a better run in transit, he’s good enough to take this out.

I reckon 3 Matcha Latte (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will run a beauty here fresh. Nacim Dilmi trains this gelding, having not raced since the BRC Sprint when far from disgraced in defeat behind a star and subsequent Group l winner, War Machine. Looks to have trialled up super, he’ll stalk the speed and be strong late.

5 Whinchat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) dominated them at Wyong a fortnight back, leading throughout and getting control, giving nothing else a look in to win and win well. Good racing style and good upside to come, he’ll take running down. Hard to beat.

7 Fire Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since contesting The Falveon at Eagle Farm when second to Hidden Wealth, driving hard late but just missed. 1400m is the query but has a kind map in his corner and a good racing style.

11 Beside The Ocean (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should just about be at peak fitness and appeals here. Just wasn’t suited at Wyong I thought two weeks ago when a beaten favourite. She balanced up in the straight and was strong late when fourth. Hard fit and back to Randwick, she takes beating.

3 Candlewick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should take beating after her first up run a few weeks back at Randwick when off speed and held up at times but got clear and chased with real purpose when third to Eye Of The Fire. Better for the run, can settle closer, he appeals.

4 Diddle Dumpling (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Ryan/Alexiou trained mare that resumes and she looks to be humming for her return. Did nice things when last in work but looks to have trialled up super for the return and off a good speed, she’ll sit and launch late.

2 Althoff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it. That win came two weeks ago at Wyong where I am not sure he was 100% happy around the tight track but balanced up in the straight and savaged the line. Confidence is up, bigger track, he clearly appeals.

4 Captain Furai (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Chris Waller trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having nog raced since Sep 27 when far from disgraced at Rosehill behind impressive winner Sir Artie. Likely will spot them a start but be strong at the end.

10 Hellfire Express (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1250m at Canterbury on New Years Day. He got into a decent spot off speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat. Maps to settle handy and be effective late.
