A strong nine race card has been set down for Morphettville this Saturday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (13:02) Sportsbet Country Sprint Final (Bm70) 1200m
5 Evening Bride (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes to town off a Port Lincoln win over 1000m, giving them a start and a beating to win impressively. Keep in mind she did win first up over 1200m so the trip is fine and overall, this race isn’t overly deep re depth so IMO, she’s a winning chance.
6 Quik Rhapid (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the quick back up for Jamie Opperman after winning last Friday at Mount Gambier where he got the beaut run in transit before angling clear and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Good test here, but confident he measures up.
8 Nasho (Bet Now: $SP.00) has run well in town previously and comes here off a win, that victory being over this trip at Naracoorte where she got control in front and that was the difference between winning and losing, being able to fend them off and win. Good racing style and off a win, has to be respected.
Race 2. (13:37) Sportsbet Rebel Raider Series Final 1200m
2 Karavas (Bet Now: $SP.00) returns home after racing at Flemington on Oaks Day in the Red Roses where she was held on the line but I thought didn’t disgrace herself in defeat. This looks more within her range and I don’t see 1200m being an issue. Leading contender.
6 Dyer (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found positive form and he can go on with it for Michael Hickmott after running second three weeks ago, looming to win but just found one better in Dreams Fulfilled. Stable is absolutely humming at the moment so this guy has to be rated as a key chance.
4 Dreams Fulfilled (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a definite winning chance. Andrew Gluyas trained gelding that won three weeks back, getting the beaut ride by Alan Lai and in a driving finish, he was too good, finishing best. He was luckless the start prior so I am convinced he is flying and commands respect.
Race 3. (14:12) Sportsbet Country Mile Final (Bm70) 1600m
10 Sir Panama (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be rated highly after a dominant win at Port Lincoln last time over 1350m, giving them a start and a beating to win quite impressively. The query is the rise to 1600m but off last start, it should be fine and if so, is hard to beat against these.
1 Farooq (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a proven metro performer and I think has returned really well. He ran at Naracoorte last time out when wide no cover throughout but he stayed on and kept finding the line in a really good effort behind Marcolt. I think hard fit now, better run in transit, he takes beating.
6 Whiskey Hangover (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran third to Marcolt at Naracoorte last start and I thought his run had good merit to it given he was back on a day where it looked difficult to make ground and he was good late when a close up third. Yet to prove himself in town but off last run, he’s a threat.
Race 4. (14:47) Sportsbet Restricted Series Final (Rs0ly) 1800m
2 Starts Now (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks the one to beat, and clearly. He won on Cup Day at this track/distance, landing off speed before making his run and he was trucking before being clicked up and away he went, winning by a space and had plenty to offer. Similar line up this time around, I think good luck beating him.
3 Whatsanamegeorge (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1800m after racing over 1950m on the Parks track a fortnight back, attempting to lead throughout, and he gave a decent kick, but just couldn’t quite see it through. I do like him back in trip and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.
8 Sundogg (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran fourth to Starts Now on Cup Day at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just didn’t have the quality to go with them late in the piece. Not sure he is good enough to win but can run top four.
Race 5. (15:22) Sportsbet Gytrash Final 1200m
7 Delightful Shecky (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a good horse and can win this for sure. He comes through the Jacks On Ice race from two weeks back when wide no cover throughout and that early burn just told on him late in the piece but he was game in defeat. Hard fit now, better run in transit, he’s dangerous.
5 Watchme Win (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a very progressive animal for Andrew Gluyas. Four weeks between runs since a dominant win over this track/distance, giving them a start, a beating, and was quite impressive the way he put them away. Heading in the right direction and can take this out.
1 Jacks On Ice (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a fab track/distance record and comes here in winning form after a strong victory two weeks ago on the Parks track, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win comfortably. More depth here, but he’s a very genuine horse that will try his guts out.
Race 6. (15:57) Sportsbet Skybeau Final (Bm80) 2500m
If he runs the 2500m, I do think 5 Big Story (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a bit on these, which was the case over 2000m three weeks ago here where he was far too good, winning by a space and I think could have won by further had Nunes properly let him go. Off that, 2500m is no issue and for mine, is clearly the one to beat.
2 Sir Kingsford (Bet Now: $SP.00) is unknown at the trip but if he gets front end control, he takes running down I say after winning last Saturday over 2250m on the Parks track, getting a picnic in front and was too strong for them late in the piece. 2500m is a different kind of pain barrier but hard to knock his racing style.
3 Arugamama (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes through the Sir Kingsford race from last Saturday. On face value, she was disappointing, but given the race shape, she was never a factor and just doesn’t have the change up speed to win from last. Think with a more genuine tempo here and up in trip, I think she’ll run a much improved race.
Race 7. (16:37) Sportsbet Happy Trails Final 1600m
13 The Mansman (Bet Now: $SP.00) should take a power of beating for Phillip Stokes. I was quite keen on him when he raced two weeks back on the Parks track but the ride from Neindorf was a howler, getting badly held up and riding for luck instead of tracking up wider for clear air. It was a nightmare watch. If the breaks go his way, I think he wins.
10 Pearl Adios (Bet Now: $SP.00) has returned well for Andrew Gluyas and is one of the key threats after running second to Easy Campese a fortnight back, trying hard to reel in the all the way winner but couldn’t quite get there. Hard fit, racing well and is one of the key chances.
3 Easy Campese (Bet Now: $SP.00) will land on speed and take running down. This guy led throughout to win two weeks ago on the Parks track and credit to him, he was there to be run down but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Up to the mile is fine and he’ll be around the mark.
Race 8. (17:12) Sportsbet Viddora Final (Bm68) 1200m
3 Jilladora (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks hard to beat. She ran on Cup Day here where she was four wide throughout yet kept coming and for a brief period, looked the winner, but was nabbed late by Seeking Storm. She’s racing very well at present and with better luck in running, she’ll take holding out.
2 Seeking Storm (Bet Now: $SP.00) has returned well and should be around the mark for Andrew Gluyas after a first up win on Cup Day where she got a suck run in transit before getting clear air late and drove hard to win. Good upside/improvement to come and is one of the leading contenders.
14 Lucille Rose (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another look. I thought she was massive in defeat when racing on Cup Day on the course proper here when four wide the trip but kept on, only getting the staggers late in the piece behind Foster Street. If that hasn’t busted her, she takes beating.
Race 9. (18:00) Sportsbet Riziz Final (Bm68) 1200m
8 The Journo (Bet Now: $SP.00) for me, and clearly. Nice horse that resumed with a strong win over 1050m here before going to 1200m on Cup Day where he just got too far out of his ground but I really liked his finale behind Shootoose. If he can settle closer, or get a drag into the race, he’s going to take beating against these.
4 Shootoose (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and commands respect after winning here on Cup Day, appreciating a genuine tempo and finished best to win and win well. The run first up was quite good so he has returned well for mine and has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat.
2 Howl (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying for David Jolly. The query is 1200m but the way he finds the line, I think it’ll be fine. He ran over 1000m two weeks back on the Parks track where he got back to near last but worked home with real purpose when second to The Gov. If he can get a decent drag into the race, he can launch late.
