Night racing continues at The Valley this Friday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out seven metres for the entire circuit.

5 Bianceli (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a talented filly for Price/Kent that comes straight to town after a debut win at Ballarat where she had a suck run in ran sit near the speed before being clicked up by Mertens and she gapped them late to win quite impressively. Confident she can measure up here.

1 Hedonist (Bet Now:  $SP.00) brings the strong form lines. Luckless two back at this track/distance behind Rich Dottie before going to Flemington on Cup Day and was very good late when second to Manolo Bling. Only has to hold his form and he will be one of the hardest to beat.

3 Reward The Sheriff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is progressive and on the up I say. Not sure he beat much at Swan Hill last time but he produced sustained speed from the front and gave nothing else a look in to win. That sort of racing style is suited here so keen to see how goes.

10 Puglia (Bet Now:  $SP.00), I think, may start favourite come jump time. She looks a good filly on the up that was completely luckless over 1500m here last time out, getting badly held up at the wrong stage before eventually getting clear and drove hard late to just miss. Talented, on the up and should be hard to hold out.

9 Canara (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the favourite and brings the A1 form but she has had 11 chances to break the maiden status and I thought she was really plain in the Carbine Club at Flemington. She had every chance but when Shinn asked for the effort, she found nothing. She has the form to be respected, but in terms of betting, I’d want much better.

4 Rogan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like 1600m will suit for Cliff Brown. He ran over 1400m at Ballarat last time out where he got back in the run and while he was never really a winning threat, he did make up ground and was good in defeat. Gets B Shinn so if he can settle closer, he’s dangerous.

All you can is win and that is what 2 Cleo Cat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done in three career outings for Tom Dabernig. She resumed over 1000m at Ballarat and led throughout to score. The margin wasn’t big but she did it in good style and will appreciate a rise to 1200m. Front end control, hard to beat.

5 Empress Of Wonder (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Annabel Neasham, she is now with Team Freedman. She was prepped up in QLD in the Winter with two trials but didn’t run. She was given a break and her jumpout work leading in has been strong so watch the market.

1 Girl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. She ran three weeks back at this track/distance where she got to last in the run and just never looked comfortable, failing to fire a shot. Prior form was sound and her best is good enough to take this out, so watch the market.

3 Grey Ice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying I feel for Bevan Laming and she’s racing like she will eat up 2040m after racing over 1700m at Flemington on Oaks Day where she got back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose in a pretty good effort behind Bon Mistress. Has won up to 2200m previously so the rise in trip is fine and for me, is hard to beat.

1 Duvach (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an in form mare for Price/Kent and seemed to relish the rise in trip at The Valley last time out, getting the beaut steer by Mertens and lapped up the trip, proving quite strong to the line. She has that 2000m run under the belt, which should hold her in good stead.

4 Dalton Dancer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has won up to 2200m so 2040m here should be fine. She has raced over the mile her past few, the latest being three weeks back here when on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Delicious Tycoon. Think with an economical run in transit, she’s dangerous.

11 Placentia Bay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. This guy ran in a strong 64 at Mornington last time out when on speed and he tried his guts out but just found one better in Claim The Crown. That form does read quite well and he is racing like 2040m will be ideal.

4 Almonti (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a rise to 2040m will suit after racing over 1850m his past couple, the latest on Kyneton Cup Day where he got back off the speed but kept finding the line in a really good effort when third. Up in trip is ideal. Just needs to settle closer in the run.

1 Tommy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver up in trip for Team McEvoy. He resumed over 1500m here three weeks back when contesting a sit/sprint and given he is a stayer, that set up wasn’t to his liking and he just couldn’t quite finish the job late in the piece. Better for the run and has a class edge.

11 Keane Enuff (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the each way play for mine here in an open 955m. He ran over 1000m at Bendigo last Wednesday when off the speed and kept finding the line in a good effort when second to Rewards And More. He has run well at the track/distance previously, he’s racing well and should be strong late.

13 Grand Larceny (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a key threat. He resumed over this track/distance three weeks ago where he just got too far back in the run and had plenty to offer but just conceded too much start but was still good in defeat. Better for the run, he takes beating.

2 Old Time Rock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has won previously at the track/distance and does have a kind map in his corner to run a much improved race. He ran in the same race Romantic Choice contested and for him, it was a barrier trial, because he was badly held up in behind them and didn’t get out at any stage. He’s got the talent to measure up.

6 Gundaroo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) got a half decent ride last start and voila, he gave them a start and beating. He has promised to be a good horse, a city class horse, but he just keeps finding one or two better, or finds a way to get beat. That was not the case at Seymour last time, settling off the speed but came with a well timed run to finish best. Big price here IMO and confident he can measure up.

All you can do is win and that is what 9 Spione (Bet Now:  $SP.00) did on debut at this track/distance in a maiden. He gave them a start, a beating, and was quite strong to the line in getting the job done. This race isn’t overly deep so maiden to 64 isn’t bad and he has plenty of scope/upside.

1 Ranveer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been hit and miss throughout his career but he has the talent under the hood when right. I’d be forgiving of his run on Sale Cup Day when held up in behind and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish off when clear. Gets in really well after the claim and maps nicely from the gate.

6 He’ll Rip (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will do me in the get out. He ran over 1800m on Oaks Day at Flemington where he got the beaut run in transit just off the speed and presented to win but just couldn’t quite finish the job but was still game in defeat behind Kettle Hill. Back to the mile, hard fit, he appeals.

9 Delicious Tycoon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance win against the Mares, finishing best after settling on speed and found under pressure to fend them off and win. Good racing style, in form and will keep fighting, so she commands respect.

2 Montather (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a real liking for the track/distance and brings strong form. He contested the Peninsula Cup at Mornington last time out where he was near the speed but was under pressure early and just lacked the class to go with them late in the piece, a race won by Chartres, who franked the form in spades via the Donald Cup on Sunday. That form has to read well for this.
