1 Goldrush Guru (Bet Now: $1.80) looks to have a bit on these IMO. Andrew Gluyas trained three year old that has been quite effective his past two, winning them both. Maiden win was two back over 1250m before going to the same track/distance two weeks ago, taking on older horses, and made a mess of them. Love the rise in trip, he’s a winner…just has a bit on these.

2 Big Brute (Bet Now: $4.80) comes here with fresh legs for Chris Bieg, having not raced since August 3 at Flemington when runner up over 1400m behind Detroit City, who looks a nice horse on the up. Has runs on the board and this race, as a whole, isn’t deep. Commands respect I say.

6 Mondello (Bet Now: $12.00) looks suited up to 1550m after racing last Wednesday over 1400m on Balaklava Cup Day when on speed and looked the winner when asked for the effort but couldn’t quite finish the job when a narrow second to Wild Winner. Not sure she wins, but one for exotics.

11 Oochie Magucchee (Bet Now: $3.40) is a Team Jolly trained mare that is on debut. She trialled a couple of weeks back at Murray Bridge and was impressive I thought, winning by over three lengths, moved well and ran decent enough time. Looks a good prospect and I think she can start her career with a maiden win.

3 Commissions (Bet Now: $7.00) is five weeks between runs for Michael Hickmott since racing over 1250m here in a maiden when struggling on the bog track and couldn’t pick his feet up late in the piece behind Goldrush Guru. Back to 1000m and firmer footing, off his debut, he commands respect.

9 Alibis (Bet Now: $11.00) will jump on the bunny and run a race at odds. He resumed over 1000m at Murray Bridge when leading and giving a decent enough kick but first up, condition just gave way late in the piece when fifth. With his racing style, he could pinch top four at odds.

1 Call Me Vexatious (Bet Now: $3.30) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it for the Nicole Irwin stable, who was a track/distance spank job winner from two weeks ago. Yes, didn’t beat much, but the way he finished the race off and how dominant he was, it was impressive and certainly good enough to say he can win again in a similar race.

10 Hostess Susie (Bet Now: $27.00) looks suited back up in trip. This mare was a strong winner over 2200m two back before coming back to 2000m at Mildura where she got off the speed and kept finding the line in a pretty good effort behind You Betcha Woo. Back up in trip, she is one of the leading threats.

4 Chosen Miss (Bet Now: $11.00) is an interesting runner. Garret Lynch trained mare that comes here four weeks between runs since racing over 2250m here when back in the run and although she was never a winning threat, she did make up some ground and wasn’t too bad in defeat behind Privileged Son. Good track/distance record, I am not penning her.

4 On The Scent (Bet Now: $3.80) is on the quick back up after racing on Sunday in the Mindarie-Halidon Cup where he just got too far back in the run but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat when fourth. Like him up in trip, onto a bigger track and off the win prior, he rates highly.

5 Lavish Thinker (Bet Now: $3.10) should love the rise in trip. Phillip Stokes trained gelding that ran over 1500m at Sandown last time out where he got a fair way back in the run and while he was never threatening, he did make up headway and was pretty good in defeat. Good upside, can settle closer and brings Victorian form.

6 Delta Tango (Bet Now: $21.00) is three weeks between runs for Travis Doudle since racing over 1800m on the course proper here. She got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but I just don’t think she was 100% happy in the conditions behind Morryl Moral. The win prior was strong and certainly good enough to be competitive here.

4 Nurys (Bet Now: $8.00) has done little wrong this time in for David Huxtable. Put together a couple of strong wins to start the prep before racing here a fortnight back. She got a fair way out of her ground but I did like the way she finished her race off in defeat behind Goldrush Guru. If within range, she’s dangerous.

11 Desert Dancing (Bet Now: $11.00) should appreciate a rise in trip for the Clarken/O’Shea camp. She was six weeks between runs and 1100m back to 1000m when racing here two weeks ago. She got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never really a winning threat, she did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat. Fitter and up in trip, can settle closer, takes beating.

8 Never Surrender (Bet Now: $8.50) is an improver. Andrew Gluyas trained gelding that was six weeks between runs when racing at this track/distance two weeks back. He got into a decent spot just off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job. That said, I think he was beaten by a good one in Goldrush Guru. Commands respect I say.

7 Aviatress (Bet Now: $2.25) will be near the speed I think and giving her all, which is what she did in the Cockram three weeks ago and battled away really well in defeat behind Quintessa after doing work to hold a spot nearer the inside. Genuine mare, she looks hard to beat.

1 Jacks On Ice (Bet Now: $9.00) looks back on track for Team Jolly. He was a touch on the plain side when resuming behind Lingani, perhaps struggling on the heavy track, but he bounced back two weeks ago at this track/distance when a solid third to impressive winner Struck Gold. Hard fit now, has found positive form, one of the hardest to beat.

13 Sixteen Reasons (Bet Now: $6.50) is flying I feel for Clarken/O’Shea but she is a mare who can be quite tardy away. That was the case two weeks back here, bombing the start but was able to save ground nearer the inside and kept closing off when fourth to Struck Gold. Dangerous if he jumps clean.

5 Tapinforpar (Bet Now: $12.00) does tend to save his best for this track/distance and looks an each way play for me. He ran at the track/distance two weeks ago where he got into a decent spot just off the speed and tried hard but did have his chance. That said, he didn’t disgrace himself in defeat behind Freak Of Nature. Honest animal, good record here and this isn’t an overly deep contest.

3 Brave Star (Bet Now: $4.80) is on the seven day back up for Phillip Stokes after racing over 1500m last Saturday on the course proper here where he was unlucky in getting out earlier but that said, I thought he was out in time to win when second to A Samurai Mind. He likes the Parks track, hard fit, racing well, strong late…contender.

7 The Guava (Bet Now: $8.50), I think, is better suited up in trip. He was 1400m back to 1250m a fortnight back here and seemingly had his chance from just off the speed but he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Struck Gold. Like him back up in trip and for mine, he can definitely bounce back.

2 Cullen Skink (Bet Now: $7.50) can improve big time here for mine. He ran over 1250m two weeks ago here in a solid race. He got off the speed and while he was never really threatening, he kept finding the line in a solid enough effort behind Struck Gold. Back to a moderate 64 and back up in trip, he should be taking care of these if he brings his best.

8 Longer Route (Bet Now: $2.30) is on the seven day back up after winning last Saturday at this trip on the course proper here, leading throughout and credit to him, he found under pressure to fend them off and was strong to the line. Good racing style, hard fit and off a win, he commands respect as a key threat.

6 Solar Blast (Bet Now: $5.50) is a knockout hope I feel. He ran on the course proper a few weeks back when doing work to land on speed and was wide throughout. He was entitled to knock right up but he kept on and was quite good in defeat. If that run hasn’t busted him, he is a definite winning chance.

12 Kinetic Jewel (Bet Now: $4.80) is a Phillip Stokes trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since June 15 at Murray Bridge when producing an end of prep run, finishing down the track behind Surprise Coming. Can sprint well on the fresh side and his recent trial at Murray Bridge was quite good. Watch the market.

1 Old Time Rock (Bet Now: $7.00) is an Andrew Clarken trained gelding that is in the seven day back up after racing last Saturday on the course proper where he had a suck run in transit and loomed to win but couldn’t quite see it through behind Deepfloat Diva. One of the leading contenders I say.

10 Sabermetric (Bet Now: $10.00) is three weeks between runs for Richards/Moyle since racing over 1100m on the course proper here where they rode him too warm, leading at a solid clip and it backfired, feeling the pinch late in the piece behind Sir Sway. I think with a more patient steer and back in grade/depth, he’s a big improver.
