Race 1. (15:24) Tabtouch Westspeed (Rs0ly) 1200m
I reckon 2 Ex Sport Man (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) would love a rise to 1400m but a truly run 1200m, he will be one of the strongest late and I am happy to be in his corner. He’s had two runs back from a spell, both over 1200m at Ascot. Latest run came two weeks ago and he was very good from the back in a leader dominated race, won by Halatorian. He doesn’t have the best of racing patterns, but should get a decent drag into the race and prove hard to hold out.
6 Here’s Dreaming (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is unknown at 1200m but the return was very encouraging and off that, 1200m is fine. She resumed over 1000m at Ascot in a sit/sprint and I thought she was very good from the back when second to all the winner Sir Mambo. Is a second up winner, Parnham sticks and if the 1200m is okay, she has to rate as one of the hardest to beat.
1 Dance Cockey (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is on the quick back up for Carey Martin after racing last Saturday at Ascot where he seemed to have his chance but was far from disgraced in defeat when fifth to Cable Boy, beaten around 1.5L. That was his first run in a month so you’d think there is improvement to come and maps to get a sweet run in transit.
Race 2. (16:04) Tabtouch Pij Cup&Fashion-Rs1mw 2000m
5 Soviet Spy (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has found winning form and I think he can go on with it. Put together several decent performances without winning but that run of outs came to an end when winning at Ascot four weeks ago, given a 12/10 by Pike and no doubt the positive ride won the race. He has run well at Pinjarra previously and despite the break between runs, he’s the one they have to beat.
12 Paigey’s Turn (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a slight query at 2000m but that should be offset by gate one and getting a suck run. Just found them a bit rich two back behind Soviet Spy before going to the mile at Albany where she was backed with confidence and under a peach from Faithfull, she finished best to score. Gets run of the race from the draw and overall, this isn’t a strong race.
This is such an interesting set up with 1 Bombay Style (Bet Now:Β $SP.00), who is having his first run for Campbell McCallum. He ran over 1400m two weeks back at Ascot where he drew the inside gate and didn’t really get a chance to build the revs behind Be Optimistic, beaten just under three lengths. Straight to 2000m for the first run for the new stable, I think just watch the market.
Race 3. (16:44) Dance To 'Felix' (Bm72+) 1400m
1 River Rubicon (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) on top in a race where I thought it was between two. Steve Wolfe trained gelding that had his first look at 1400m in a while two weeks ago where he spotted them a start but came with a well timed run, launching late to finish over the top and win impressively. He’s been up a while but has found winning form now and can certainly go on with it.
5 Weaponson (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) comes back to 1400m but gee it’s hard to knock the way Dan Morton has him going. His past two starts have resulted in strong wins over the mile at Ascot, the latest win coming a fortnight back when an all the way winner at Pike, who rode the start prior as well, and he sticks. Back to 1400m should be okay and if he lands on speed, I think he’ll make sure it’s a 1400m contest.
4 Multinational (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a son of Zoustar that resumes for Neville Parnham. He hasn’t raced since September 17 at Belmont over 1400m when back from the wide gate and worked home well late in the piece when fourth to Let’s Galahvant, who of course went on to win the Hannans at Kalgoorlie, which clearly reads well. Resumes without a trial, which is unusual for the stable, so watch the market.
Race 4. (17:24) T'bred Breeders Classic-Bm66+ 1200m
Fitter, I want to back 5 Blow Me Out (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) each way. Brett Pope trained mare that resumed two weeks ago at Ascot where she was dragged back to last from the wide gate and while she was never a winning threat, I really liked the way she finished the race off, beaten just over two lengths by Halatorian. Two time winner at Pinjarra and can settle much closer in the run. Tricky race but she’ll do me.
4 Stellar Vista (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has returned in pretty good order and rates highly. She resumed in the Halatorian race from a fortnight back at Ascot where she had the suck run behind the speed and finished off strongly late nearer the inside when a narrow second. Yet to miss a drum in four second up outings and is 1/1 at the track, so she clearly rates highly.
1 Lipstick Flickers (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a quality mare for Adam Durrant that resumes. This mare has been given a good long spell, having not raced since April 15 at Ascot when leading and tiring late behind Downforce. She is a good fresh mare and I thought her recent trial at Lark Hill was more than encouraging. If the market says she’s ready to go, you have to put something on.
Race 5. (18:04) Lightsaber @Darling View-Bm72+ 1000m
3 Metallon (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is unknown down the straight but ability wise, I think he has a bit on this lot. Three weeks between runs since resuming at Ascot where he was a bit fresh and keen outside the leader but class kicked in late and found plenty under pressure to win impressively in a good return. Tempo looks like it will be genuine here so he’ll get his chance to relax and finish off strong.
2 Spin The Knife (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Luke Fernie, he now finds himself with Stephen Miller and this stable is pretty good at improving a tried horse. His form tapered towards the end of last prep but a new lease of life with a new camp and his trial was sharp. If he brings his best, he’ll make sure they know it’s a race.
7 Bopping Blue (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is 2/2 down the straight and he seems like he is enjoying life under the care of Anne King. Trialled up super at Lark Hill and confirmed that with an all the way win at this track/distance just overt a month ago. Been kept on ice, I dare say with this race in mind, and with his record at this track, upside, racing pattern, he commands respect.
Race 6. (18:40) Pinjarra Classic 26/2 (Rs1mw) 1200m
Happy to take a chance with 3 Prawns Eleven (Bet Now:Β $SP.00), who is having his first run for William Lewthwaite after formerly being with Brock Lewthwaite. Short sample size, but this stable have been very good with their runners when first up, so that is a tick for me to offset the fact he hasn’t had a public trial, but the end of last prep, he ran well behind My Bella Mae before not pulling up 100% in the Placid Ark. If he’s ready to go, I think he wins.
5 Capo Veloce (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is racing like 1200m will suit and he gets that here. He ran over 1100m at Ascot two weeks ago where he got back off the speed and was chasing from the outset but didn’t mind the way he found the line late in the piece when third to Wild Belle. Produced a couple of good efforts over 1400m last prep so a rise to 1200m is ideal and has good upside.
11 Supersession (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is a progressive three year old for Adam Durrant that appeals as one of the leading chances. Adam Durrant trained gelding that has been solid in two runs back from a spell. Both runs have come at Belmont, doing more than enough fresh over 1000m before going to 1200m where he was given a peach by Warwick and once he got the splits, away he went and he dashed clear. Harder here, but commands respect the way he’s going.
Race 7. (19:15) M.M. Wa 3Yo Trophy (Rl) 1200m
Looks to be good speed here and I think it will set up perfectly for 3 Hear My Prayer (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) to sit back and launch late. He ran over 1200m at Belmont at the midweeks last time and was good late from the back when third to Divine Inanna. I reckon he would love a rise to 1400m but hoping for a fast run 1200m here, he’ll get three wide cover and be one of the strongest at the end.
1 Street Parade (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the class of the field and gets Chris Parnham aboard so he has a bit in his corner. He is three weeks between runs since racing at Ascot where he was on speed throughout and tried his guts out but just lacked the motor of My Bella Mae, running third. 1200m is the obvious query with him but in terms of class, he has lengths on these, and does get Parnham.
Very interesting runner is 6 Nyet (Bet Now:Β $SP.00), who resumes for Simon Miller. He debuted in a Northam maiden back on October 13 where he got way too keen in the run and was a beaten horse at the top of the straight, finishing down the track behind Demolish, who has been Stakes performed since. Trialled well at Lark Hill last week albeit pushed out…think he’d be a good thing in a maiden, so find it interesting they resume here.
Race 8. (19:50) M.M. Wa 2Yo Classic (Rl) 1200m
9 Super Smink (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is the each way bet for me in what looks a pretty strong edition of this race. She debuted over 1100m at Ascot two weeks ago and it was hard to miss her finale, rocketing to the line late from near last to run third to A Lot Of Good Men. Has a gate to settle much closer in the run and she’ll eat up the extra 100m. Good race with a host of chances but she’s the each way bet.
1 A Lot Of Good Men (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has the runs on the board to give this a shake. Both starts/wins this time in have come at Ascot, and both wins have seen class come to the fore. He hasn’t had the flashing light on him but he’s done enough to get there and been impressive in winning. He’ll eat up 1200m here and despite a tricky gate, he rates highly.
2 Odinaka (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is on the seven day back up for Steve Wolfe after bolting up last Saturday. I was surprised by the betting drift given the debut, where it was the best last you’ll see. He shoved into the clear and got better as the race went on to draw clear. That was at 1000m and no doubt in mind he will be fine at 1200m, especially from the soft gate. Appeals big time.
Race 9. (20:29) Geisel Park Stud (Bm66+) 1600m
5 Be Optimistic (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) has been strong in two runs back from a spell, both at 1400m, and now third up at the mile is an ideal set up. Attacked the line with real purpose to win two weeks ago at Ascot, sitting back and launching late to get up and win in a big effort. Good record at Pinjarra and is proven at 2000m+ so she will be one of the strongest late and is the one to beat.
6 Ration Aly (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and is suited up in trip. Resumed over 1400m at Ascot two weeks ago where he was specked at a price and while he didn’t win, he ran a very credible race in defeat behind an in form galloper, River Rubicon. He has a good second up record and getting to the mile, Harvey taking over, he rates highly.
7 Downforce (Bet Now:Β $SP.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. Neville Parnham trained gelding that ran in the Weaponson race from two weeks back over the mile at Ascot where he did a bit of work from the wide gate and that early burn just told late when down the track. Draws tricky once again but if he is able to slot in and get an economical run, he can run a much improved race.
