5 Chassagne (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth another look. Can make a case to say she goes close with clear air when resuming at Doomben. She then went to Lismore where I thought she was a moral but she didn’t fire after copping a check on the turn as she was building into the race. Hard fit, her best is clearly good enough to take out a race like this.

6 Connecticut (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying. Team Geran trained gelding that ran second at Doomben a fortnight back when off speed and held up at times but was good late when clear behind So you Are. If he gets room to move and wind up, he can win.

1 Kirkeby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver for Chris Waller after racing two weeks back at Doomben. The race shape was against him but he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat behind the handy stayer So You Are. More genuine tempo here, he can threaten.

1 Contingency (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is progressive and heading in the right direction for Paul Shailer. 2/2 to start his career, both coming over the mile at the Sunny Coast. Last start, he led throughout and despite a few nervous moments, he found under pressure. Good talent, keen to see how he goes.

2 Dushenka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1800m. I don’t think it was the best of steers from Collis at Doomben two weeks ago. The filly was going to be right in the finish but he kept getting the filly into trouble and it ended up being an ugly watch. She can win if the breaks go her way.

3 Lonesome Soul (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran two weeks back at Doomben and was a total forgive I think after doing a stack of early work in the run out wide and just felt the pinch late. I think with a better run in transit, she’s dangerous.

I think 11 Kosuke (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will run really well here for Greg McFarlane. He resumed over 1400m at Kembla where he just found them a tad sharp but was good late without threatening behind Perfect Play. Like him up in trip, has good upside and the form around him from last prep reads very well.

4 Maziz (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a promising animal for Team Archibald that was a big first up winner over 1400m here, knuckling down woth purpose late from off speed to wear them down. He’ll love the rise in trip, more upside than most…keen on him running well.

13 Sun Worshipper (Bet Now:  $SP.00) jumps sharply in trip after resuming three weeks back at Toowoomba over 1300m. She just found them a bit nippy over the shorter trip but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off in defeat. Like her up in distance and has more upside than most.

4 Maximum Output (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Stuart Kendrick since a win over 1000m at the Gold Coast. He landed near the speed and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found to fend them off and score. Has a good track/distance record, good racing style, he appeals.

3 Party For Two (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a ripping short course type for Tony Gollan that wouldn’t look out of place with the right placement in Melbourne. She is five weeks between runs since a dominant win over 1110m at Doomben when leading throughout and giving nothing else a look in. Tick over trial was sharp, she takes beating.

5 Flag Hall (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Maximum Output race from four weeks back at the Gold Coast when resuming. He pulled up slow to recover, which explained the below par return. He was a ripper when last in work and good enough to win this so watch betting.

3 Pre Eminence (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here off the back of a sharp win three weeks ago at Toowoomba where he landed near the speed over 1000m and once that eventuated, away he went and he gapped his rivals in an impressive display. He does appear really well placed against these.

12 Petticoat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here for Brett Dodson off the back of an all the way win at Randwick in a Highway where she found late and was strong to the line in her return victory. Good test here against likely types but think she can measure up.

13 Custo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Formerly with Cam Crockett, he now finds himself with the Lockwood/Vincent camp. He has shown good promise throughout his career and with extensive trial work dating back to early September, he’s here to run well I say.

5 Bossed Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is suited here I feel. He ran over 1000m three weeks ago at Toowoomba where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he did close off strongly late when second to Pre Eminence. If within range, he’s hard to beat.

16 Barberry Spur (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Lawrie Mayfield-Smith that resumes. He had two runs in the Winter, both at Doomben, his latest run seeing him romp up and ran time. Looked sharp in a recent trial win, I say he’s ready to go.

3 Mio Sorrento (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1200m at the Sunny Coast where he got back in the run and did make up headway but was never really threatening behind Shelstein. If they overdo it in front, he’ll launch late.

12 Imposant (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win. Outclassed in her first two runs before racing at Doomben a fortnight back. I thought barrier one would be a blessing. It ended up being a curse, getting no chance to build the revs while Freeland had all the momentum. If she gets room to move and wind up, she will take a power of beating.

6 Rock Hard Love (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after a first up placing over 1350m at Doomben when getting back to near last in the run but worked home with real purpose late behind Facundo. Fitter and up in trip, bigger track, he appeals.

15 Pocketmoney (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Munce trained mare that was a strong winner over 1200m here last time when off speed before being presented clear air and finished best to score and win well. Rising to 1400m should be fine, think she can measure up.

3 Our Magnus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a win on Toowoomba Cup Day, finishing best from off speed to win and win well. Staying at 1200m I find interesting but he gets in well after the claim and is very genuine.

2 Epic Proportions (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1110m at Doomben when off speed and worked home okay but seemingly had his chance behind Navyonthehighway. Track/distance winner previously and overall, this isn’t a strong race.

7 King Of Naples (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been runner up in both runs this time in and is one of the key chances. He ran in the feature sprint on Lismore Cup Day where he landed near the speed and was there to put the race away but just found one better in Jack Be Lucky. Hard fit, good racing style, he appeals.

6 Exceed Speed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. Total forgive from three weeks ago at Toowoomba when doing early work to land on speed but despite that, he loomed to win but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Ludovisi. He’ll press forward and take beating.

12 Freeland (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is humming for Team Munce. Big win at Doomben a fortnight back, giving them a start and a beating with a sustained run from the back to score. The rise to the mile I find interesting but hard to knock the way she’s racing.

7 Northern Decree (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to the mile after racing four weeks back at the Gold Coast over 1800m. He got off speed and seemed to have his chance but just whacked in the run to the line behind Walsh Bay, one of the more in form gallopers in QLD. Back to the mile I like and prior efforts were more than sound.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 1 Contingency

LONG SHOT: Race One Number 5 Chassagne
