6 Wodeton (Bet Now: $1.65) on top for me but not really a race I want to get involved in. He is on debut for Chris Waller off the back of a couple of trials, the latest at Warwick Farm when near the speed and moved to the line quite well in defeat I thought behind impressive winner Namaste, who ran well on debut last Saturday. He looks a good mover so happy to be have him as #1 seed.

8 Miss Fleetwood (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred filly for Michael Freedman that debuts off the back of impressive trial work, the latest trial seeing her bolt up over 900m at Canterbury and moved very well to my eye. Stable are flying with their juveniles so keen to see how she goes.

3 Crossbow (Bet Now: $12.00) is a stablemate of Wodeton that is also on debut. He has had two trials under the belt to get ready for start one, placing each time, and to my eye hasn’t gone too bad. Bred to handle wet ground and maps ideally so watch the market.

15 Zippo Idea (Bet Now: $11.00) is a good each way speck here IMO. Rod Northam trained mare that lost the rider fresh at Scone before going to 1300m there off a mini break and found the line with real purpose late in the piece when third. Hard fit now and up to 1400m, strong late and finds a winnable Highway.

9 Oneforian (Bet Now: $9.50) looks to have returned in pretty good order and should appreciate the rise to 1400m after racing in the Sir Remlap Highway from three weeks back. He got a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he closed his race off in defeat. Hard fit now and up in trip, he appeals.

13 That A Boy (Bet Now: $26.00) is an interesting runner but I think has earned a crack at Highway grade after being 2/2 this time in, first up being an all the way win at Queanbeyan before going to the Sapphire Coast where he got into a sweet spot off the speed before knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. Keen to see how he goes.

5 Polyglot (Bet Now: $1.70) is a son of Lonhro that resumes for James Cummings. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 14 at Flemington when contesting the Poseidon and was outclassed but far from disgraced behind Growing Empire. Given a good break and has looked to trial up really well for the return so keen to see how he goes.

4 Winchester (Bet Now: $6.50) resumes for Team Hawkes and is dangerous I say. He hasn’t been seen since a down the track effort in the Vain at Caulfield in the early part of the Spring, which followed an impressive first up win. Trialled up well for the return so watch the market.

2 Iron Hawk (Bet Now: $6.50) is a very interesting runner. Gary Portelli trained three year old that was heading down the Golden Rose path but after a flop in the Ming Dynasty, he was spelled. Given a good break and his trial work to get ready has been more than encouraging, and with class on his side, keen to see how he goes.

16 Shohisha (Bet Now: $3.40) has a bit on these I feel. David Payne trained filly that was a notable drifter in betting in the Gosford Guineas and despite sitting off a barrier trial tempo, she found the line with real purpose late in the piece. Better for the run, miles back in grade, she’ll be strong late and has a touch of class/quality. Keen.

3 Nosey Parker (Bet Now: $17.00) is knocking on the door to win and I think he gets his chance in a winanble race outside the top tip. He got a fair way out of his ground two weeks ago in the Midway at Randwick but I really liked the way he closed his race off in defeat when third to Angel Fund, beaten 1.45L. If he’s within range and gets a drag into the race, he’s dangerous enough to win.

7 Rush Hour (Bet Now: $5.00) likes wet ground and has found positive form. He was a bit on the plain side when resuming at Wyong but ran a much improved race at Port Macquarie last time with the 60.5kg impost. He loves getting his toe in, weight relief and strikes a winnable race.

1 Gilded Water (Bet Now: $1.90) is a very progressive stayer for Ciaron Maher. 2/2 down under, winning fresh on Gong Day at Kembla before going to Randwick where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted, winning quite comfortably in an impressive display. Only has to hold his form and he wins again.

10 Akkadian Emperor (Bet Now: $9.50) is the one with upside and I do think he will love the rise to 2400m. He was an arrogant first up winner at Newcastle before coming to Randwick when heavily backed and I thought he had every chance, just failing to get there behind Unlimited, who ran well again last Saturday so the form reads well and is racing like 2400m suits.

11 Jealous (Bet Now: $16.00) is flying for Rob Heathcoate and has to be respected as one of the leading contenders. Market gravitated towards her late at Randwick two weeks back and while she was never really a threat, she found the line with real purpose in an eye catching effort behind Unlimited. Dangerous if she can settle closer in the run.

9 Perfumist (Bet Now: $3.10) is humming for Bjorn Baker and the way she’s racing, as well as the stable, she is the one they have to beat. Dominant all the way win two weeks ago at Randwick, getting front end control and gave nothing else a look in to win and win well. Good racing style, in form, she takes beating.

1 Defining (Bet Now: $31.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1200m at Randwick three weeks ago. She paraded like she would need the run and that’s how it panned out behind Left Field. She had trialled well leading in so fitter and up in trip, she can win.

6 Lulumon (Bet Now: $5.50) has had a couple of runs now at 1400m and she’s racing like a rise to 1500m will suit. She ran third to Perfumist two weeks back at Randwick. The race shape was against her but she kept finding the line well enough in defeat I thought. 1500m should be okay and can settle a pair closer in the run.

I am hoping the early markets miss 7 Akua’rius (Bet Now: $41.00). Former German stayer that had a prep in the Spring to start life down under, the last run being The Beauford and considering the track pattern, his run in defeat was enormous. Given a break and I thought his trial at Warwick Farm behind subsequent winner Sandpaper was an absolute beauty. 2400m+ is his go, likely has eyes on the Australia Day Cup, but I can’t let him go around without me.

1 Osipenko (Bet Now: $3.00) is racing like a win is coming. Looked like he was going to get that win on Boxing Day in the Summer Cup but just found one better in Tavi Time, who nailed him on the line. He has that 2000m run under the belt, which should hold him in good stead.

2 Converge (Bet Now: $9.00) is knocking on the door. Just got a bit too far out of his ground in the Summer Cup last time but worked home with purpose in a good effort in defeat behind Tavi Time. He is racing well, can settle closer and still be effective late.

10 Boldinho (Bet Now: $12.00) is three weeks between runs for Ciaron Maher since racing over 1200m at The Valley when on speed throughout and he tried his guts out but lacked the finale to finish the job when a close up fifth to Apache Song. Good racing style, racing well and strikes a winnable race.

4 Gravina (Bet Now: $23.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran at Randwick a fortnight back over 1200m and kept finding the line from off the speed in a good effort behind impressive winner, the very much in form Accredited. Hard fit now and up to 1300m, he should prove hard to beat.

9 Cadetship (Bet Now: $16.00) is an improver for Chris Waller. He was a bit on the plain side a fortnight back at Ramdwick, getting back off the speed and was never really a factor when running last. Prior efforts were strong and he does have an element of class on his side.

8 The Little Pumper (Bet Now: $12.00) looks the map horse and with that, I am leaning his way. He ran at Randwick on Boxing Day when taking the sit behind the speed and tried hard but just lacked the turn of foot to put them away late in the piece behind Noble Conqueror. Fitter and up in trip, he rates highly.

7 Silent Impact (Bet Now: $5.50) will put himself on speed and take running down. He was ridden with a sit two weeks ago at Randwick and I reckon it just worked against him as he has no real turn of foot and just couldn’t quite get there when third. Think if he leads, clear air, he takes beating.

11 Luvoir (Bet Now: $51.00) will jump on the bunny and run his usual honest race. He attempted to lead throughout two weeks back at Randwick and gave a decent kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through. That said, he was only beaten two lengths by Inquiring Minds. Front end control, hard to beat.

12 Oakfield Duke (Bet Now: $26.00) is worth at the stumps here in the last. Kris Lees trained gelding that absolutely swims and come the last, with the wet track and rain forecast, this track could be a bog and that will bring him right into play despite being first up. Did more than enough fresh behind With Your Blessing and has trialled up super for the return so watch the market.

2 Eye Of The Fire (Bet Now: $5.00) has done little wrong this time in and only has to hold his form to be around the mark. He ran over 1200m at Randwick a few weeks back. He got on speed and was quite keen in the run, which I think took something away from his finale behind Disneck, who won again since last start, so the form reads super and strikes a winnable race.

3 South Of India (Bet Now: $6.00) is a slight query at the trip at this level but he swims and has a good racing style for the Rosehill 1100m. Did too much work to hold the lead at Randwick last time behind With Your Blessing but he stayed on and was good in defeat. If he leads and gets control, he’ll run a bold race.

BEST BET: Race Five Number 1 Gilded Water

NEXT BEST: Race Four Number 16 Shohisha

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 7 Akua’rius
