Night racing continues at Pakenham this Thursday. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

11 Gabor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a nice filly and I think she can make a winning debut. She has had two jumpouts to get ready for start, both coming here, and has won each time, both outings seeing her move quite well. Looks a handy one, gets Craig Williams, should land near the speed and take beating.

4 Maldini (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one of the key threats for Moody/Coleman. He resumed over this trip at Ballarat when off speed and he tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job when second to Legacy Bound. Fitter, kind map, home track advantage, rates highly.

8 The Better Husband (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred colt that is on debut for Busuttin/Young. He has had a couple of 800m jumpouts at Cranbourne to get ready for start and has placed each time, moving well enough to my eye. Stable can get them ready first up/on debut so watch betting.

2 Donegal Bay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am leaning in what looks a competitive maiden. He didn’t do a bad job in his opening prep during the Spring, finishing behind some nice horses. Two jumpouts to get ready for the return and has looked strong, plus the Begg stable is humming at present.

4 I Said So (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was big odds when debuting at this track/distance three weeks ago but he was one of the eye catchers of the meeting I thought, closing off with purpose from near last when fourth. If he can settle closer, be within range, he takes beating.

1 Bjarne (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Magnus that is on debut for Robbie Griffiths. He has had extensive jumpout work to get ready for start one and has steadly got better each time he has stepped out. The market says he may need the run but I’d watch betting and how he parades.

10 Youwroteuponit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Wrote for Grahame Begg that is on debut. She has been trialling/jumping out well enough to my eye at Cranbourne and the stable are flying with their runners, especially early on in the prep. Market watch.

6 Baywatch (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a beautifully bred filly for Mick Kent that is on debut. She is by Ocean Park out of the former handy mare Movie. She has had three jumpouts in readiness for start one, so the grounding is there, which isn’t exactly the norm for this stable, so watch betting.

9 Sudden Change (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1300m at Cranbourne when getting the sweet sit in transit and she tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and tired late behind Grouse Mountain. Back in trip and I think back in overall depth, she’s an improver.

4 Daella (Bet Now:  $SP.00) seems the most obvious. She ran over this track/distance two weeks ago when off speed and kept finding the line with purpose when a close up third to Savagery Vibe. The depth here is nowhere near as deep and all things being equal, she has a bit on these.

3 Transactions (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1000m after racing over 1100m at Geelong last time when off speed and was presented clear air, knuckling down with purpose late to win and win well. Blinkers back on and in a fast run 1000m, he should be quite strong late.

5 Free To Play (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course specialist and appeals here after a win over this trip at Bairnsdale, producing sustained speed throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. Harder here, but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

9 Puglia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag and I think she does get a golden opportunity here. She resumed over 1400m at Sandown where the race shape was that of a barrier trial and she just couldn’t pick up and run near sub 32 in order to win. Fitter and up in trip, she takes beating.

7 Miss Playlounge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Clinton McDonald off the back of a strong effort in the Platinum Guineas at Caulfield when outclassed but far from disgraced in defeat behind Benagil, who would be $1.10 against these. Lands in a plum spot from the inside gate and strikes a winnable race.

2 Bologna Baby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to be entertained for exotics. She ran over 1400m here last time when near the speed and was there to threaten but she was on the one paced side in the straight when third. Up to the mile I like and is a knockout hope at odds.

3 Rose De Vellor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a talented filly for Charlotte Littlefield and off a strong return, I think she’s the one to beat. She resumed three weeks ago over 1100m here when on speed and was one of the first off the bit but she kept picking up and surged, just missing out on the win. Fitter and up to 1200m, in well after the claim, the one to beat.

5 Libica (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a handy mare that is first up. She hasn’t raced since Aug 14 at Sandown when wide no cover, keen in the run and just felt the pinch late behind Fayetta. Given a good break and her trial work to get ready has been strong so watch betting.

7 Zoomed (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in with a shout here for Robbie Griffiths off the back of a win at Geelong over 1100m where she gave them a start and a beating, rounding them up from near last to score. She is a previous track/distance winner and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.

5 Howdy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. That win came over 1400m at Cranbourne where he looked a good thing on paper and duly salued, rounding them up from off the speed to score. His confidence is up, he’s clearly the one to beat.

4 Dakarai (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. Just looked in need of the run fresh over 1200m here before going to the same trip at Sale when not quite picking up late behind Master Of Chant. Hard fit now and getting to 1400m, he’s a definite improver.

3 Allibor (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m for Joseph Waldron after racing over 2080m at Cranbourne. He had a decent run in transit just off the speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish his race off. Back in trip is fine and is a first four threat.

2 Perfect Gold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) each way for me in the get out. Dom Sutton trained mare that gave them a start and a beating to win two back at Bendigo before going to 1300m at Sandown when far from disgraced in defeat behind a good mare, Zloties. That form does read well for this, she maps perfect and strikes a winnable race.

1 Queen Of Tuscany (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Thursday night over this track/distance when off speed and worked home with real purpose late in the piece when second to Sirius Statement. Maps perfect from the gate and gets in well after the claim.

5 Kalimna Views (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs fir John McArdle since a win over 1200m here, where she got back in the run but came with a well timed run to finish best and score. The rise to 1400m should be fine and is a definite threat.

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 2 Perfect Gold
