4 The Calabrese (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. That win came two weeks ago at this track/distance when giving them a start and a beating, getting clear air to wind up and finished best to score. He’ll take beating once again.

11 Hedawood (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given respect. He ran fourth to The Calabrese a fortnight back, getting a mile out of his ground but liked the way he finished his race off, clocking the best late splits of the race. Dangerous if he can be within range.

3 Sir Dreamalot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing last Saturday over 1400m here where he had a suck run in transit behind the speed but didn’t finish his race off at all behind Angel Undercover. Much better suited here, he’s a first four threat.

12 Ideally (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top in what looks an open contest. Michael Grantham trained mare that resumes, having not raced since July 5 over this trip at Pinjarra when getting a fair way out of her ground but was good late without threatening. Looks to have trialled well and 1400m fresh signals intent to my eye.

11 Astro World (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over 1500m two weeks ago here when wide no cover throughout and that hard run just told on her late. Better run in transit this time around, she’s dangerous.

2 Soldanelle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix big time after her eye catching effort last Saturday at this track/distance. She got a mile out of her ground but loved the way she closed her race off in defeat behind Angel Undercover. Takes beating if within range 400m out.

10 Summer’s Legacy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1800m after an arrogant win over the mile at Belmont. She had the sweet run in transit just off the speed before being clicked up by Pike and away she went to win and win quite well. Extra 150m is no issue, she’s in form, the one to beat I say.

15 Mississippi Dawn (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where she got off speed and just whacked in the run to the line behind Exotique Miss. Prior efforts were more than sound and overall, this isn’t a deep contest.

1 Blazing Emerald (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a forgive from two weeks back at this track/distance when wide no cover for the trip and the hard run just told late behind Odinaka. Better run in transit this time around, she’s more than good enough to threaten.

11 Forever Boy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a promising gelding for Michael Grantham that resumes, potentially with the Perth Cup in mind? He ended last prep on a high with a dominant win over 2000m at Pinjarra. Fresh at the mile I like and I think he’s here to make a statement.

5 Asphalt (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since making it 2/2 this time in, winning over 1400m and knuckled down with purpose when it mattered. He’s a good horse, so keen to see him at the mile.

2 Stormageddon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs for Michael Grantham, having not raced since Sep 27 when an impressive winner over the mile at Belmont. Tick over trial was a good piece of work and he has a good racing style.

4 Black Ora (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat for Adam Durrant after a track/distance placing two weeks ago where she was tardy away and got back off speed but kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat. If the breaks go her way, she takes beating.

5 Rocking Gem (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Simon Miller trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since the Winter when having a one run prep, seeing her finish down the track behind Madhi Girl. Given a good break and her trial work has been quite good. Watch betting.

3 Capre Omnia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran down the track behind Desert Whisper two weeks back here. He did early work in the run and didn’t really have cover, so he couldn’t quite finish his race off. Not sure he wins, but his is good enough to finish top four.

2 Spacewalk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can make a real statement here for the locals and their Winterbottom claims. Formerly with Godolphin, he now finds himself with Team Williams and I thought he went like a rocket in a Belmont trial last week. Not sure he can win a Winterbottom but I’m confident he can win this.

1 Jokers Grin (Bet Now:  $SP.00) resumed with a bang in the Prince Of Wales. He sat wide no cover for the trip but class came to the fore and he was much too good in the run to the line. Fitter and up to 1100m, runs on the board, he clearly has to be respected.

4 Oscar’s Fortune (Bet Now:  $SP.00) didn’t really fire a shot in Melbourne so he returned to Dion Luciani and ran a beauty in the Prince Of Wales when second to Jokers Grin. He settled off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there. He’ll be around the mark.

5 Toropa (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks extremely hard to beat here after resuming two weeks ago. She was building into the race nicely but got badly held up late when wanting to charge to the line. If the breaks go her way, she’s going to take holding out.

13 Regal Statue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Michael Grantham trained mare that resumes. Her last run was July 12 at Bunbury when placing over 1400m. Liked the way she has trialled for the return and there does appear to be intent.

9 Drakaina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. She resumes for Michael Grantham after a win at Pinjarra on June 28 over 1400m. Whether this is a barrier trial for later on, not sure, but watch betting and see what it does.

9 Pure Excess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks the one to beat. Can easily make a case to say she wins the Burgess Queen if she gets clear air throughout but she got badly held up late when charging. If the breaks go her way here, especially up to the mile, she’ll take a power of beating.

2 Playin’It Sweet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was the winner of the Burgess Queen and credit to her because she was ridden with more intent, landing on speed, and she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to score. 1600m is the query but she has the runs on the board.

12 Pure Silver (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one for wider exotics. She made an absolute mess of them in a Northam maiden over 1400m, landing on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Good racing style, she could pinch a first four spot.

11 Luana Miss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be top seed, and clearly for mine. She was arrogant in the Prelude two weeks ago, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. Extra 100m is fine, lobs into a beaut spot from the gate…clearly the one to beat.

12 Snitzalatte (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Adam Durrant after a game second in the Belgravia where she did work in the run and that just told late, nabbed by King Of Light. That form is A1 and she is one of the leading contenders.

1 Castle Road (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and look to give his all, as seen first up in the Prelude where he attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight but just felt the pinch late. He’ll give a good account of himself.

4 Bonjoy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a big improver here for Jason Miller. I think they rode her a touch warm in the Asian Beau, which took something away from her finale behind Watch Me Rock. I think with a patient steer, she’ll be far more effective and can win.

3 Cosmic Crusader… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) lot has been said about the Asian Beau and the tactics. Some said CJP slaughtered this guy. I thought he had every chance because even though he didn’t cross and lead, they weren’t exactly busting the clock so for mine, he had his chance. He was a couple of months between runs so he has improvement, but he’d want to.

9 Luvnwar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran fourth in the Asian Beau and I thought she ran a ripping race, aided by a great ride by Carbery. I thought he gave the mare a gun ride on speed and she tried hard but just ran out of puff late. She’s dangerous against these.
