Race 1. (11:55) Sportsbet Jockey Watch Hcp 1000m
9 Hot Whiskers (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Too Darn Hot filly for Phillip Stokes that resumes. She hasn’t raced since an electric debut win at Mornington on Dec 27, and at the time she looked a potential Blue Diamond contender, but was spelled. Given a good break, jumpout work has been quite strong, watch betting, but I think she’s the one.
4 Yolo (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs for Ciaron Maher since a first up win at Pakenham where he held the inside/lead and was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. His confidence is up, he has a good racing style, suited at the short course, hard to beat.
3 Oceansprint (Bet Now: $SP.00) is hard to beat I say. He debuted over this trip at Ballarat when leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he was strong in the run to the line. Lands near the front here and should take beating.
Race 2. (12:25) Evergreen Turf (Bm70) 1300m
6 Butternut Princess (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. She ran over this trip at Cranbourne where the race shape was against her but she closed strongly and was good in defeat behind Highlands. The draw is tricky but she is in well after the claim and strikes a winnable race.
5 Terilee (Bet Now: $SP.00) has done little wrong in three career outings and has to be respected after her effort here three weeks ago when off speed and spotted those in front a start but was good late in the piece when second to Ahha Ahha. Should be strong late and this isn’t an overly deep contest.
4 Marble Point (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1300m after racing over 1200m two weeks back at Caulfield where she got a fair way out of her ground but worked home with real purpose behind Miss Swift. If she’s within range, she has the finale to be dangerous.
Race 3. (13:00) Quayclean Hcp 1400m
6 Whateley (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs for Busuttin/Young since an all the way win at Cranbourne where he gave nothing else a look in and was quite dominant in the run to the line. His confidence is up, good racing style, he takes beating.
3 Harry’s Yacht (Bet Now: $SP.00) is suited up to 1400m after being 1200m back to 1100m at Flemington a few weeks ago and just found them a bit sharp but he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Madame Maserati. Back up in trip, bending track, he can bounce back.
2 Just For Show (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an improver up in trip after racing behind Big Swinger two weeks back when off speed and just lacked change up speed but he stayed on and was sound in defeat. Fitter and up in distance, he is a definite improver at odds.
Race 4. (13:35) Sportsbet Fast Form (Bm74) 1400m
18 Boltsaver (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Randwick where he got too far out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, you had to like the way he finished his race off in defeat. Like him in a truly run race and he’s bursting to win this time in.
16 Stylish (Bet Now: $SP.00) can win this. She ran behind Trial By Press two weeks back at Caulfield. She got back to near last in the run but worked home quite strongly and was good in defeat I thought. If she can settle closer and be within range, she has the finale to be dangerous.
4 Rogue Rocker (Bet Now: $SP.00) has done little wrong in two runs this prep and commands respect. He ran second at Morphettville Parks last time when off speed and loomed to win but just couldn’t quite get there behind Colmar. Tricky draw, but is a must for exotics.
Race 5. (14:10) Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives (Bm74) 1600m
2 Extreme Virtue (Bet Now: $SP.00) has had two runs back from a spell, both at 1400m, and looks primed for the mile. Latest run was at Caulfield two weeks ago when attempting to lead throughout and she gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Trial By Press. I think with a bunny to chase, she’ll be far more effective.
3 Trial By Press (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and the rise to 1600m is ideal after her win over 1400m at Caulfield a fortnight back where she knuckled down with purpose late from off the speed to score. Good upside/improvement to come and up in trip, she appeals.
16 Sound It Out (Bet Now: $SP.00) can run an improved race for Chris Waller. Gave them a start and a beating to win fresh at Kyneton before going to Caulfield where the race shape wasn’t really to her liking so while she was down the track, she had excuses. More genuine tempo, can settle closer, she’s dangerous.
Race 6. (14:45) Ray Porter's 90Th Celebration Classic (Bm78) 1600m
5 Roadcone (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a purple patch for Moody/Coleman. He has won two on the bounce, spanking them two back at Pakenham before going to Sandown three weeks ago when leading throughout and although challenged, he fended them off and was too good. Hard to knock his racing style.
6 Hiyaam Proud (Bet Now: $SP.00) is worth an each way ticket. He resumed three weeks back over 1400m at Randwick and just struggled in the conditions behind Spione. Better set up for him here and his best is clearly good enough.
9 Chakado (Bet Now: $SP.00) is 2/2 this time in and has to be respected. Both wins have come over the mile at Cranbourne, the latest being on May 30 when leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in. Good test here, but think he runs well.
Race 7. (15:25) Sportsbet More Places Hcp 1800m
2 Forgot You (Bet Now: $SP.00) can win without surprising. He is three weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when off speed but chimed in with purpose early on in the straight and was hailed as the winner but he just couldn’t quite see it through. Hard fit now, he’s in the mix.
8 Saban (Bet Now: $SP.00) has found winning form and he can go on with it after a win over 1800m three weeks ago at Sandown, giving them a start and a beating and despite a few nervous moments late, he got there and was impressive. He’s one of the leading contenders.
6 Milford (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran behind Jimmy The Bear two weeks vack at Caulfield, getting back in the run and although he lacked the change up speed, he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat. His best is good enough so don’t dismiss him.
Race 8. (16:05) Thoroughbred Club Of Australia (Bm84) 1000m
14 Moonhaven (Bet Now: $SP.00) has to be given another look. He was a bit on the plain side when resuming behind Losesomewinmore at Flemington, sitting off speed and tried to come with a run but just petered out late. Subsequent jumpout was sharp, he can bounce back.
9 Port Albert (Bet Now: $SP.00) will welcome the drop in depth/grade after racing in the Bel Esprit two weeks back at Caulfield where he was outclassed and ran accordingly when down the track behind Niance. Back to 84 grade, he can run a much improved race.
5 Talbragar (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Julius Sandhu trained gelding that resumed at Caulfield several weeks back. He paraded like he would need the run and that’s how it panned out, albeit far from disgraced in defeat behind Prancing Spirt. Better for the run, he’s in the mix.
Race 9. (16:35) Sportsbet Race Replays Hcp 1400m
3 Munhamek (Bet Now: $SP.00) each way in the get out. Nick Ryan trained gelding that is first up, having not raced since March 29 when down the track at Flemington, but was carrying 60kg and looked a tired horse. Gets in very well after the claim and his recent jumpout work has been pretty good.
12 Hughes (Bet Now: $SP.00) is flying and has to be respected. He gave them a start and a beating to win three weeks ago here, letting down with a strong finale from off the speed to score. Gets in really well after the claim and despite the class/depth rise, he is right in the mix.
7 Run Harry Run (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an improver at odds for Team Hayes. First run for the stable came three weeks ago here when ridden with a sit and while he did find the line well enough, he did have his chance. Good upside, can settle closer, dangerous.
