14/2/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick, Apollo Stakes day

Ten races have been set down for Randwick on Saturday, headlined by a start studded field in the Apollo Stakes (1400m). Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is out four metres for the entire circuit.

8 Warrior For Peace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a rise to 1800m will suit. He ran over 1500m two weeks ago at Rosehill where he got a mile out of his ground and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat. Should be fine at the trip. Just hoping for a decent drag into the race.

14 Ulysses Blue (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was $201 when racing at Rosehill in the Highway a fortnight back but she ran out of her skin, working home strongly when a close up second to Navy Steel. I think the rise to 1800m is fine and commands respect off last run.

7 Spenzalot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1800m after a win over 2200m at Scone, sitting on speed and gee he was powerful in the run to the line for stablemate Southerly Buster, who is in form himself, so the form does read quite well. He’ll be strong late and think he can measure up against these.

2 Rantan (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks ready to go for the return. Ron Quinton trained mare that resumes, having not raced since Oct 6 when placing over 1100m at Warwick Farm, driving hard late from off speed but just missed. Has trialled up super for the return and fresh at 1000m looks ideal.

1 Mal Coupe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a pretty solid animal that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Aug 16 when a strong winner on testing ground at Rosehill, in what was an actual metro race vs Midway grade, and with J Mac booked for the return off two trials…clear intent for mine.

5 Everyone’s A Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Marc Chevalier. She ran second to Super Norwest three weeks back at Randwick at this trip, closing with real purpose late in the piece when second. In career best form and has to be given respect as a key chance against these.

9 Sequinned (Bet Now:  $SP.00) was a drifter in betting when debuting three weeks back over 1000m here. She was quite keen behind the speed, pulling hard, and was never really a factor. Tick over trial last week was quite good, so watch betting and see what it does because I do think she has talent.

5 Ciaron’s Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since a debut over 1000m here when off speed and closed with purpose in the straight when third to Satin Summer. Fitter and up to 1100m, she’s one of the leading contenders against these.

11 Legaselli (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a John Thompson trained filly that debuts off the back of a couple of trials where she has been comfortably held each time she has stepped out but hasn’t looked too bad to the eye. I think watch the market and see what it does with her.

Hard to get away from 4 Sovereign Hill (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who was a dominant winner two weeks ago at Rosehill, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively from the front. Looks to lead again and 1400m on the bigger track should be fine.

15 Arabian Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice mare for James Healy. Closed with real purpose a few weeks ago at the Sunny Coast from near last, just missing out on the win when third. If she can be within range, she has the finale to be dangerous.

18 Happy Belle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to 1400m after racing over 1250m at Canterbury last time where she didn’t get the rub of the green from a tricky gate and should have been right in the finish behind Monte Kate, who won again last night to frank the form. Must for exotics.

10 Cross Tasman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks suited up to the mile. He ran a game second two weeks ago over 1500m at Rosehill. Just think the ride from J Mac on the eventual winner Pippie Beach was 12/10 and that was the difference between winning and losing. He’s flying Cross Tasman and the extra 100m should be fine.

I was quite keen on 9 It’s A Knockout (Bet Now:  $SP.00) in the Magic Millions F&M at the Gold Coast when resuming but after getting a decent enough run in transit, she didn’t finish the race off at all and was a bit on the plain side. If she brings her best, she can threaten.

6 Just Party (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is running out of chances but I am convinced he has the engine under the hood to be a threat. He ran third to Pippie Beach a fortnight back at Rosehill when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort. In the mix…backing him to win is another matter.

1 Apocalyptic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a bit on these IMO. Class filly for Michael Freedman that won the Flight in the Spring before a gutsy second in the Thousand Guineas. Trialled twice for the return and should be winning this en route to clashing with Tempted in the Surround.

4 Karinska (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a filly with an engine under the hood. She last raced in the Thousand Guineas where she looked a tired horse and was never really a factor behind Ole Dancer. Looks to have trialled up nicely for the resumption and should be strong at the end.

3 Artistic Venture (Bet Now:  $SP.00) did some nice things when last in work, highlighted by a second to Apocalyptic in the Tea Rose before a midfield finish in the Flight. Given a good break and has looked to trial well for the return, so watch the market.

3 Joliestar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is arguably the best top class horse in Australia when it comes to first up. She is just lethal on the fresh side and confident she can resume a winner. She last raced in the Champions Sprint at Flemington when a game third to Giga Kick despite not being 100% happy on the bog. Looks to have trialled great for the return and for mine is here to rock and roll.

1 Angel Capital (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is another that is dynamite fresh and is a key chance. Connections are completely desperate for him to win a Group l, which they thought would come last run last prep in the CF Orr but bumped into a jet, Jimmysstar. Trials have been sharp, he commands respect.

2 Coal Crusher (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a tough campaigner for Joe Pride that resumes. He last raced in the Razor Sharp when a game second after coming back from the 1300m of his Hunter triumph. He has looked strong in trial work, he’ll press forward and run an honest race.

Baby Winx…need I say more? If she gets beat, so be it. But she’s a star and despite this being the toughest test to date for 7 Autumn Glow (Bet Now:  $SP.00), I am confident her star will shine and she’ll keep winning. Chris Waller wouldn’t be sending her to the races unless she was going to win because there is that unbeaten streak they want to keep going for as long as possible and her trial work…my goodness she has been sharp.

Big watch on 9 Aeliana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for Chris Waller. Would she have won the Cox Plate? I say unlikely, but she should have been in the finish. She just had no luck on the turn when seemingly bolting. She is a star in her own right and was super first up last prep in the Winx. In the mix for sure.

3 Lindermann (Bet Now:  $SP.00) could well be the bet here, to run top three. Purely from the trials, I think he has trialled the best of the lot. He dead set jogged in the latest trial over 1050m here behind Just Feelin Lucky and while he has eyes on the Ranvet/Tancred etc etc, gee I think he’ll run a beauty here.

4 Weeping Woman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks here to play vs some others here, who may have eyes elsewhere. Joe Pride trained mare that really came of age when last in work, culminating in a track/distance win in the Razor Sharp. Couple of strong trials against class opposition, she goes well fresh, she’s well in at the weights…keen.

2 Manaal (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a class mare resuming for Michael Freedman. She was last seen in The Invitation when fourth to Stefi Magnetica, trying hard but just failing to get there. Looks to have trialled up nicely and has class on her side.

10 Lilac (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is first up for Team Archibald and is a definite watch. She last raced in the Sheraco when leading and failing to fire late when last behind Manaal. Given a good break and has looked to trial up very well for the return so watch the market.

I am specking 8 Movin Out (Bet Now:  $SP.00). First up for Waller, she has looked very strong in a couple of trials in Sydney, both trials containing class animals, much better than what she faces here. First up at 1400m signals intent to me that she is fit and while she is hit and miss, her best is good enough to measure up.

11 Sunshineinmypocket (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to catch but I do think back to 1300m suits. He ran over 1400m at Randwick several weeks back when off speed and chasing but the chasing took its toll and he whacked late in the piece behind Cool Jakey. if he brings his best, he goes close.

10 Glint Of Silver (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate getting to 1300m after resuming two weeks back over 1200m. He did early work to land in a forward spot but just whacked late in the piece behind Sixties. Not sure he wins, but can run first four.

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 4 Weeping Woman

LONG SHOT: Race Ten Number 8 Movin Out
