Belmont will conduct an eight event card on Friday for Nicopolis Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out seven metres for the entire circuit.

6 Swingman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in really good order for Jim Taylor and should prove hard to beat after a first up win in a Northam where he gave them a start and a beatng, getting better as the race went on. Comes straight to town but confident he can measure up.

4 Split The Gee (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is six weeks between runs for Luke Fernie since resuming on testing ground at Pinjarra. She got into a decent spot on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late in the piece. The break between runs is fine, good racing style, she commands respect.

8 Excess Baggage (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate a rise to 1200m after a debut second over 1000m here two weeks back. She landed outside the speed and she tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite finish the job when second to Who’s Bent. 1200m is fine, leading chance.

3 Cruise To Victory (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look for Team Williams. He ran in the Doctor Jay race from two weeks ago at this track/distance. He got back off the speed nad kept chasing but did seemingly have his chance in defeat behind Doctor Jay. His best is good enough. Giving him another chance.

5 Bondi Plunge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the quick back up for Dan Morton after racing over 1400m last Tuesday at Northam when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. Hard fit, she appeals.

6 Too Much Talk (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran well last Wednesday at this track/distance when off speed and presented to win when asked for the effort but had to settle for a second. Lacks the class I think but should be around the mark.

6 So Nataya (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me in what looks an open contest. Luke Fernie trained mare that resumes, having not raced since May 7 at Ascot when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive performance. She won’t mind juice in the track, trialled well and has a decent fresh record. Happy to be in her corner.

3 Go Go Grommet (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win for Team Gangemi. He has been runner up his past three, the latest being over 1000m here a fortnight back when off speed and loomed to win but just found one better Niccimota. 1200m should be fine, one of the leading contenders.

8 Tropicconi (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had a few runs for Karen Kersley and hasn’t been too bad. Latest run was at the midweeks at this track/distance when wide no cover and tired late after the hard run. Better sit in transit this time around, she can win.

6 Stormchaser (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. He resumed three weeks ago in the Idyllic Prince and was one of the eye catchers of the meeting, closing with real purpose late in the piece when third, clocking good late splits. If he can settle closer in the run, he’ll take holding out.

3 Rokanori (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back after racing last Saturday in the Farnley. He ran over 1400m and while he was never beating Cool Memory, he stuck on and was pretty good in defeat. He’ll be strong late and has found positive form.

7 Border Control (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an interesting runner. Several weeks between runs since winning the Broome Sprint, getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and wound up with purpose to win well. Interesting test here but keen to see how he goes.

2 Noble Connection (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat. He was a strong winner last Saturday at this track/distance, getting back in the run but produced a strong finale and launched late to finish best. They’ve tried him as a stayer but he does seem best suited as a miler. Hard to beat.

1 Changing Guard (Bet Now:  $SP.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1400m two weeks ago here. He got too far out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept chasing and was pretty good late in the piece. The rise to the mile suits, he can win.

5 Bayhara (Bet Now:  $SP.00) would be a knockout chance if this track was able to dry right out but with rain forecast for Saturday, it doesn’t help her cause but she is four weeks between runs, has had two runs back and with a more patient steer, she can threaten.

3 Cosmic Crusader… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) Is he the Bob Peters horse to put his hand up for the Railway? He is now with Michael Grantham after being with Donna Riordan where he went 2/2 in the Spring last year. Destined for Stakes grade and fresh at 1400m tells me he’s here to rock and roll.

1 Investmentstrategy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile two weeks ago. He landed on speed and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish his race off when third to Arcadia Knight. Good racing style and back in trip should be fine.

4 Sunny Honey (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good track/distance record and is an improver at odds after being 1600m back to 1200m last start when just finding them a bit sharp but he stayed on and was sound in defeat. Not sure he wins but he’s a first four threat.

4 Yorga Pride (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been dynamic in two starts/wins this prep and no reason why she can’t make it three. The win three weeks ago was that of a Stakes class animal, showing nice change up speed on the shifty track. Heading in the right direction, clearly the one to beat.

9 Essentric Nature (Bet Now:  $SP.00) ran over 1400m here a fortnight back where he got off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when second to Doctor Jay. Hard fit now, strong late, he’s one of the leading contenders.

1 Otheroneson (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1200m here when off speed and kept chasing but was never really threatening. The rise in trip should be fine and nearing peak fitness, he can run first four at a price.

8 I Love Your Smile (Bet Now:  $SP.00) for me. Luke Fernie trained mare that is on the seven day back up after a game effort last Saturday at this track/distance when off speed and worked home with real purpose late. Hard fit now, Pike takes over, she’s clearly the one to beat.

4 Amamus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a lightly raced four year old that caused somewhat of an upset two weeks ago over 2100m here, giving them a start and a beating to score. Good test here but think he measures up after last start and how strong he was in the run to the line.

2 Admired (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a hard horse to catch. He was a surprise but strong winner two back before racing two weeks back and he was just awful behind Amamus. Off the win two back, he’s good enough to fill a first four spot.
