SA metro racing heads to Gawler on Saturday. Weather is fine, track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (12:57) Magain Fielke Real Estate Gawler Handicap (Class 1) 1100m
3 Harmonic Dancer (Bet Now: $SP.00), I think, wins the Rebel Raider three weeks ago if he was able to get in, but unfortunately he was caught wide no cover the trip and that hard run just told on him late when a close up fourth. Better run in transit, he takes beating.
4 Si Senora (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs for Team Jolly since resuming at Morphettville Parks when tardy away, got back off speed and didn’t really come on in a plain finale. He has the talent to measure up so I wouldn’t dismiss him.
7 Breakfast (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes straight to metro level for Chris Bieg after a first up win at Balaklava in a maiden, sitting on speed before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Good racing style, impressive return, I say she’s one of the leading contenders.
Race 2. (13:32) Matrix Solar Solutions Handicap (0MWLY) 1200m
2 Zebella (Bet Now: $SP.00) takes beating with her racing style. She attempted to lead throughout two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks, giving a strong kick from the front but just found one better in Dancing Storm. That was her first run in four weeks so with room for improvement, she takes running down.
7 Vintage Star (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 1200m after racing over 1000m a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat I thought behind Mintulee. Extra 200m is ideal and can settle closer in the run.
4 Three Rings (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Cody Reardon trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since July 12 at Murray Bridge. He got a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Fast Bubbles. Couple of jumpouts under the belt, watch betting.
Race 3. (14:07) Sportsbet Handicap (78) 2100m
2 Party Crasher (Bet Now: $SP.00) is the best horse in the race, by a distance. Just a matter of where he is at after last Saturday at Ballarat where he was near the speed but was one of the first beaten and hated the sticky track. If that hasn’t busted him, he’ll be too good for this average bunch.
4 Fox Gem (Bet Now: $SP.00) steps up to 2100m after being 1800m back to the mile three weeks ago at Morphettville when back in the run and made up some headway but was never really threatening. He has run well at this previously and prior efforts were pretty good.
3 Yuri Royale (Bet Now: $SP.00) is four weeks between runs since racing over 2250m at Morphettville Parks. He got back in the run and made up minimal headway behind the very much in form Guru Warrior. That form does read well for this so he’s in with a shout.
Race 4. (14:42) Gawler Arms Hotel Maiden Plate 1500m
3 Smother (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Former Victorian that now finds himself with Michael Hickmott and we know what this stable can do with a tried horse. The form around him does read very well. Just depends if he is ready. Market will be the guide.
12 Oak Park Madison (Bet Now: $SP.00) commands respect for Travis Doudle. She ran fifth last week at Balaklava where she got a fair way off speed and while she was never threatening, she kept chasing and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Extra ground suits and can be ridden with more intent.
8 Flaming Eyes (Bet Now: $SP.00) is bursting to win her maiden. Andrew Clarken trained mare that ran over this track/distance last start when getting into a decent spot just off the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the race off when running second. Knocking on the door and strikes a winnable maiden.
Race 5. (15:17) Irongate Handicap (78) 1500m
5 Komachi (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since taking out the Happy Trails Final, getting a great ride from off speed in a slogging go, finished best. Previous track/distance winner and seemingly brings the A1 form into this so happy to be in his corner.
7 I Catchem Fox (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes here off the back of a win two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks over 1550m, sitting on speed throughout and he found plenty under pressure to fend them off and get the job done. Good racing style and that will be ideal for this track.
2 Hasta La War (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Sue Murphy trained veteran that resumes, potentially with eyes towards the Adelaide Cup. 1500m fresh does signal some form of intent and he is the class runner when right so watch betting. First four chance.
Race 6. (15:57) Ray White Barossa Valley Two Wells Handicap (64) 1200m
4 There Goes My Hero (Bet Now: $SP.00) has been kept on ice since resuming at Gawler on Oct 6 when off speed and worked home well when second to Rob The Bank. Kept on the fresh side, and with solid form around him, I say he appeals.
2 Palm Of Jumeirah (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing in the Viddora Final when wide no cover throughout and tried hard but the hard run just told late behind Starlite Valley when fourth. Racing really well and is one of the leading contenders.
5 Cork Harbour (Bet Now: $SP.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Morphettville Parks when wide no cover on speed and he tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Winning Revolution. I think with a better run in transit, he’s dangerous at odds.
Race 7. (16:37) Holdfast Insurance Brokers Handicap (76) 1200m
6 Cash (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Michael Hickmott trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since ending last prep on a high with a win at Morphettville on Aug 30. Looked very sharp in a Balaklava trial last week, I suggest he’s ready to go.
2 Dancing Storm (Bet Now: $SP.00) is in a purple patch and commands respect after two wins, the latest being at Morphettville Parks a fortnight back. He sat outside the speed, controlled the race and in a dash to the line, he was too good. Hard to knock the way he’s racing.
10 Thunder Shoc (Bet Now: $SP.00) ran two weeks back at Morphettville Parks where she just got too far back in the run and in a race dominated on speed, she was never really a factor. Think if she can use the inside gate and settle closer, she’s dangerous.
Race 8. (17:17) Cranes Services Handicap (64) 1700m
7 Isuspectjeu (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. She ran over 1550m at Morphettville Parks two weeks ago when off speed and kept chasing with purpose in a good effort in defeat when second to I Catchem Fox. Like her up in trip and the depth here isn’t deep.
11 Allainge (Bet Now: $SP.00) comes back to 1700m after racing over 2250m a fortnight back at Morphettville Parks where she got off speed and kept chasing in a good effort in defeat behind impressive winner Pelevecchio. She’ll be strong late. Just depends what start she concedes.
6 Collated (Bet Now: $SP.00) is three weeks between runs since racing over 1800m at Morphettville where he hated the wet grouns and didn’t fire a shot behind Worsfold. Better suited here, he can run a mucb improved race at odds.
Race 9. (18:00) Bronwen Darrall Memorial Handicap (64) 1500m
6 The Last Dance (Bet Now: $SP.00) for me. On the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Morphettville Parks when off speed in a race dominated on pace and was never really a factor. More genuine tempo here, he appeals, especially with the rider upgrade.
4 Cielao (Bet Now: $SP.00) spanked them two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks, leading throughout and she gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. That followed a down the track effort a week prior in the Viddora Final but she loved the rise in trip and firmer footing. She’s going to take beating.
5 Eaglelou (Bet Now: $SP.00) has a good record at Gawler and is in the mix as a knockout hope. He ran over 1550m two weeks back at Morphettville Parks where he got back to near last in the run and did make up headway but was never really threatening behind I Catchem Fox. If within range, he’s dangerous.
