Race 1. (17:55) Paint Place Cranbourne Mdn Plate 1200m
9 The Secret (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks the leader and from there, will take running down. She debuted over this trip at Caulfield Heath when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when third. Depth not as deep this time around and better for the run, she appeals.
6 Araletta (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a daughter of Pierro that resumes for Moody/Coleman. This girl is first up, having not raced since April 21 when placing at Bendigo, and although ess beaten a fair way, she beat the rest safely enough. 1200m is on the short side but has a kind map and jumped out well.
4 Tensile (Bet Now: $SP.00) is one that could pinch a first four spot. He didn’t quite set the world on fire last prep, the latest run at Pakenham Syntheic when down the track over the mile. Likely gets back but should be strong at the end. First four contender.
Race 2. (18:26) Bridgestone Select Cranbourne Mdn Plate 1600m
3 Fast Freeze (Bet Now: $SP.00) has home track advantage, is knocking on the door to win and looks to have found a very thin maiden. She ran over 1400m at Geelong last time when off speed and found the line well enough in defeat when fourth. If she’s within range, I do think good luck beating her.
7 Rubimusic (Bet Now: $SP.00) has had a couple of runs at 1200m to start the prep and looks suited up to 1600m. Latest run was at Yarra Valley when off speed and was good late in defeat. Has good upside to come and this isn’t a deep contest.
1 Ahrkaye (Bet Now: $SP.00) is another that has had a couple of 1200m runs on the bounce. The latest was at Moe where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, his finale was sound enough. Not sure he wins but is one for exotics.
Race 3. (18:56) Designer Coolrooms Hcp (64) 1600m
4 Fire High (Bet Now: $SP.00) for me. Cliff Brown trained mare that was an all the way winner when resuming at Ballarat before going to The Valley when pulling up with EIPH in a total forgive. With front end control, she’ll take running down.
1 Desert Star (Bet Now: $SP.00) is knocking on the door. He ran over 1450m on Kilmore Cup Day when off speed and chased with purpose but on testing ground, he couldn’t quite pick up well enough when second. Firmer deck, he’s hard to beat.
2 Disturbia (Bet Now: $SP.00) will put herself on speed and look to give her all. That was the case at Caulfield Heath last time and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Indian Jewel. Good racing style and hard fit, she appeals.
Race 4. (19:26) Fulmen Park (Bm64) 1000m
5 Marbilla (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks the best on the card. She ran over this trip at Caulfield Heath last start where she got off speed but closed with purpose in a good effort. Maps to stalk the leader and with clear air, will take holding out.
1 Hollywood Ace (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a handy sprinter that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since Aug 8 at Sandown when leading and giving a good kick but couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Prevailed. Has jumped out well, will press forward and take beating.
2 Aminatu (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a short course specialist that can win with her best. She ran in a 955m at The Valley last time when wide no cover on speed and tired to finish down the track. Tricky draw, but has great early toe and if she gets across, she can win.
Race 5. (19:56) Polytrack Mdn Plate 2060m
4 Larryoctane (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks hard to beat here up in trip. He was second up when racing Inver the mile at Moe last time, getting back to near last in the run but worked home with purpose when third. Maps to settle much closer and still be effective at the end.
3 Great Prosperity (Bet Now: $SP.00) has the good grounding for the 2000m assignment after racing over 2200m at Donald last time when near the speed and fought hard but couldn’t quite see it through but he battled away and was good in defeat. Has to be respected.
2 Deeler (Bet Now: $SP.00) can be an improver on firmer footing. He ran over this trip at Yarra Valley last start when on speed and on testing ground, he struggled to pick his feet up in the conditions. Better suited here, he’s an improver at odds.
Race 6. (20:26) Frankston Sand & Soil Mdn Plate 1400m
9 California Flyer (Bet Now: $SP.00) has been pretty good in two career outings and looks ready to win third up. She was far from disgraced in defeat on debut at Yarra Valley before going to Geelong and was game in defeat when third. Hard fit, 1400m, she appeals against these.
7 Southby (Bet Now: $SP.00) should be suited up to 1400m after debuting over 1200m at The Valley where he found them a touch sharp over the six furlongs but was good late in defeat behind Clean Reef. Fitter and up to 1400m, he’s one of the leading contenders.
10 Regal Ransom (Bet Now: $SP.00) is an improver for Team Keys. She debuted over this trip at Geelong when tucked in behind the speed and was held up at times but didn’t really fire a shot. Better suited at this level and maps to do no work once again.
Race 7. (20:56) Highview Accounting & Financial Hcp (C1) 1200m
3 Sunni Mofeed (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks a nice horse on the up. He resumes for Wendy Kelly, having not raced since July 9 when a dominant maiden winner at Ballarat Synthetic, which followed a solid debut in a hot race. Maps ideally and has jumped out well leading in.
1 Delusionaldictator (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a son of Thronum that resumes for Team Williams. He hasn’t raced since May 16 at Pakenham when near the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the job. Given a good spell and his jumpout work has been more than encouraging.
4 Mintman (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate firmer footing and back to 1200m after racing over 1450m on Kilmore Cup Day where he wasn’t 100% happy on testing ground behind Eddy Street. Better set up here, he’s an improver for sure.
Race 8. (21:26) Ladbrokes Form Genius Hcp (64) 1400m
11 The Marg Factor (Bet Now: $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps in the last. Peter Gelagotis trained mare that ran over 1200m at Mornington last start when on speed and gave a decent enough kick but couldn’t quite see it through. Think down in the weights with front end control, she will run well at odds.
4 Akicita (Bet Now: $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran over 1300m at Bendigo last start where he got a fair way out of his ground and while Hess never a winning threat, he did make up good headway. Hard fit and up to 1400m, he appeals.
12 Sinister Sauce (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Simon Zahra trained mare that resumes. This girl hasn’t raced since Sep 30 over the mile at Moe when down the track behind Ripplebrook. Likely spots them a start but should be strong at the end.
