12/6/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick, Bob Charley Stakes day

Nine races will be run and won at Randwick this Saturday where it is Bob Charley Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

Tricky juvenile race to start the meeting. Leaning towards 10 Bitcoin Baby (Bet Now: $6.50 TOP ODDS). I know it was only a 900m maiden she won on debut at Newcastle, but her last 200m, gee she attacked the line and surged to get up in the last stride. I think she’ll eat up 1200m, bred to swim and is in a leading juvenile stable.

6 Sacred Field (Bet Now: $6.00 TOP ODDS) deserves another chance. Debuted here two weeks ago when a short priced favourite and on face value, he had every chance when third, but I reckon he was coming off a soft 740m trial win and just lacked that grounding. He has the 1100m run under the belt for this now so he can bounce back.

12 My Snow Queen (Bet Now: $12.00 TOP ODDS) is a knockout chance. Comes back to 1200m after bolting up to win her maiden over 1300m at Goulburn last time out on testing ground, where she was miles too good for them. Proven wet tracker that is hard fit and in form, and is down in the weights. A win wouldn’t shock at all.

13 Sharlie (Bet Now: $12.00 TOP ODDS) is a mare in form for Donna Scott. It was a plain field she was up against at Wodonga last time, but credit to her, she gave them a spanking and the overall time was pretty solid. She loves to get her toe in and if this becomes a testing 1500m, she’ll be strong at the end.

1500m is the query with 11 Charvet (Bet Now: $8.50 TOP ODDS), along with the fact the recent run of Paul Messara in Highways is ordinary, but she’s flying since joining the camp and can easily make a case to say she should be unbeaten this prep after getting too far back fresh at Muswellbrook. Heavily backed when winning on Scone Cup Day, then spanked them at Gunnedah. If she runs out the 1500m, she’ll take beating.

8 Casino Kid (Bet Now: $6.50 TOP ODDS) is racing really well at the moment and is a definite winning chance. Attacked the line strongly to win two back at Gunnedah before going to Tamworth where he was flat footed when the sprint went on but picked up and was good late. Proven on wet ground, 3kg claim for Jones, he’s right in this.

2 Malkovich (Bet Now: $3.50 TOP ODDS) will look the winner for a long way. Mark Newnham trained three year old that resumed over 1100m here two weeks ago. Led and looked home 200m out but couldn’t quite finish it off and was nabbed late by Lillemor. Back to 1000m, he’ll lead and give an almighty sight.

11 Ice In Vancouver (Bet Now: $3.10 TOP ODDS) is a talented animal for Cody Morgan that resumed over 1000m on his home track at Tamworth. Showed good early toe to lead them up and from there, it was a pretty painless watch if you took the shorts. Harder here, but has the right racing pattern and will give a sight.

4 Hulk (Bet Now: $6.00 TOP ODDS) deserves another chance. Good late when third at Rosehill fresh. He then came to 1100m here a fortnight back and was forced to make his run nearer the inside, which I don’t think was the A1 ground, so want to be forgiving of that effort. Back to 1000m I like and he’ll launch late.

7 Gravina (Bet Now: $1.65 TOP ODDS) looks hard to beat. Gee he was dominant when winning at this track/distance two weeks ago. He made an absolute mess of them, aided by a peach steer from Reece Jones. He seemingly has a liking for tracks with give in it and that is the conditions he’ll get here, so he’ll do me.

11 Steel Diamond (Bet Now: $5.50 TOP ODDS) is a very interesting runner. Chris Waller trained mare that resumes, having not raced since August last year when down the track behind Dancing Gidget. Loved her recent trial and I think she will be winning races this prep. Just not sure it’s here, but she’ll run well.

8 Shaik (Bet Now: $8.00 TOP ODDS) looks a leading chance for Team Hawkes. Thrown in the deep end fresh when resuming in the Helen Coughlan at Eagle Farm and I thought she was far from disgraced in a strong Mares race won by Exhilarates. Looks much better suited at this level and loves to get her toe in.

5 La Chevalee (Bet Now: $3.20) is a Maher/Eustace trained mare that is racing really well at the moment without winning. Game second to Witchfulthinking fresh at the Bool before racing at Sandown where she tried hard to wear down Kurabui but was just no match for that talented mare. Ready to win and this is a winnable race.

4 Zing (Bet Now: $3.20) hasn’t done the seven day back up before but if there is one stable I trust with that set up, it is the Chris Waller camp. Perfect steer last Saturday from Clipperton and she looked the winner when the button was pushed. Just couldn’t quite finish it off when a close up third to Great House. Fitter and getting to her pet track/distance, she’ll take beating.

6 Ruby Tuesday (Bet Now: $10.00) is three weeks between runs for Gary Portelli since racing at Rosehill where she was off the pace, unlike the run prior. Just raced a bit keen in the run and I reckon that took something away from her finale behind Charleise, who won a Stakes race last Saturday at Eagle Farm and is potentially heading to the Tatts Tiara, so that form reads strong for this.

11 Brutality (Bet Now: $3.20) clearly for me and he’s one of the best on the card. Excellent run two back in The Coast at Gosford behind Brandenburg. Then came back to 1400m here two weeks ago where he was a significant drifter in betting but worked home strongly late to run third. Hard fit, up to the mile, wet track…won’t be shocked if this is heavily backed and bolts up.

2 Order Again (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Chris Waller trained galloper that is around a month between runs since resuming in the Scone Cup where he was good late from off the speed behind impressive winner Laure Me In, who has failed since, so the form as a whole is a bit on the suspect side, but he’s a proven Saturday performer and the tick over trial was a nice piece of work.

1600m at Randwick is the sweet spot for 4 Dealmaker (Bet Now: $15.00). His last three runs here at the trip has seen him win and run a narrow second the other two runs, one of those behind Cascadian, so how well does that form read? The run behind Lina’s Hero was a prep run for this to my eye.

7 Wandabaa (Bet Now: $4.00) clearly for me. Like most that was on her last time, I wanted the rain to come two weeks ago, but unfortunately it didn’t. Despite that, she still ran a super race when second to Adelong. The forecast is for this track to be genuinely wet and keep in mind she was four weeks between runs last start, so there should be improvement to come.

5 Adelong (Bet Now: $5.50) is a beauty for Brad Widdup. I think the stable aimed a bit high with her in the Spring and in the early part of the Autumn. They are now keeping her to off season Open/Listed company and the results are there to see. She has been effective and was a strong winner at this track/distance a fortnight back. Hard to beat once again.

10 Noble Boy (Bet Now: $21.00) is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. Country Championships winner with Todd Blowes, then had a stint with Claire Cunningham but is now with Theresa Bateup. His best is certainly capable, and is a wet tracker, so he gets conditions to suit, and has trialled well. Definite market watch.

He’s flying 8 Dream Circle (Bet Now: $4.50) and see no reason why he can’t win again. Outstanding ride from JVO saw him win fresh at Rosehill before racing here two weeks ago where he lobbed into a lovely spot from the inside gate and once he got clear air, he was strong late and too good. Tougher test this time around, but hard to knock the way he’s going.

12 Mirra Vision (Bet Now: $7.00) is three weeks between runs for Team Snowden since recording an impressive win at Rosehill. Had a suck run behind the speed before angling into clear air late and finishing best to score. Has always shown Saturday class talent. Now she has confirmed that, she can go on with it.

4 True Detective (Bet Now: $7.00) is going well for Chris Waller. Excellent two back behind Lost And Running in the Luskin Star. Then was sent forward here two weeks ago, led and battled on pretty well when a close up fifth to Lina’s Hero. Nearing a win and could well come here.

Throw at the stumps in the last via 1 Intuition (Bet Now: $46.00). You have to go back to nearly three years ago to find the last time he raced in an event rated below 80. He has class, loads of it, compared to this lot. Was excellent fresh in the Town Plate at Wagga, then the race shape was against at Flemington. I think he’ll run a bold race here at odds.

5 Canasta (Bet Now: $4.80) looks to be flying for Bjorn Baker. Trialled up super prior to resuming over 1300m here two weeks ago. He was rock solid as a $10 chance in the market and did everything bar win, running a close up second to the very much in form Dream Circle. Excellent third up record…just doesn’t want the track too wet.

2 Cinquedea (Bet Now: $27.00) is racing well this time in for the Freedman camp. Chased a very strong speed fresh on the Kenso and was game in defeat behind Marway. Then raced at Rosehill and stayed on strongly behind Kirwan’s Lane. Third up, hard fit now and has the right form.

NEXT BEST: Race Five Number 5 Le Chevalee

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 13 Sharlie
