12/3/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Eagle Farm

Tricky juvenile racing. 7 Tantalum (Bet Now: $26.00) has the right form around her to give this a shake. Sat near the speed over this trip at the Gold Coast last time and battled on pretty well in defeat behind Affogato Girl, who won last Friday at Newcastle. Blinkers first time with the right form, she’ll take beating.

It’s well known that Les Ross and his gallopers, especially his juveniles, love hard racing, so respecting 3 Mishani Embrace (Bet Now: $2.25), who had been racing well without winning, but that all changed last time out at Toowoomba where she spanked them by eight lengths. In form, 1400m should be fine, hard to beat.

Giving respect to 1 Ping (Bet Now: $2.60) for Stuart Kendrick. I thought there was merit to his win on debut at Ipswich when wide no cover for the trip but he found when required and surged hard late to finish best. The rise to 1400m looks no issue and the depth here, as a whole, is thin.

3 Fortified (Bet Now: $2.70) is bursting to win a race for Chris Waller and I think he gets his chance here. Ran last Wednesday on the Poly at the Sunny Coast and tried his guts out but was just no match for Call Me Legend, just missing out on the win. Is a winner at Eagle Farm and I do think has upside to come. Commands respect.

2 Chocolatier (Bet Now: $4.80) is similar to Fortified. Racing really well but just can’t quite crack it for a win. Sat on speed three weeks ago at the Sunny Coast and tried hard but had to settle for a third to Traduce. 0/2 at the track but he lands in front and overall, the depth isn’t strong.

6 Savvy Oak (Bet Now: $4.20) hasn’t won since Adam and Eve were pooping in their nappies, but he’s been around the mark in recent times, his latest run being last Wednesday behind Call Me Legend when back in the run and looming to win but just failed to finish it off. Better suited here on the turf and can bounce back.

2 Star Of Michelin (Bet Now: $7.50) is flying and love he comes to Eagle Farm. Good late fresh in the Sunny Coast Cup behind Scallopini before racing at that track again a few weeks back. He ran last, but I think with a half decent steer, he just about wins. He’s hard fit now, big track, upside…keen.

4 Trevelyan (Bet Now: $16.00) is an Eagle Farm specialist that I think commands respect returning to the track. Month between runs since an eye catching effort over the mile at Doomben behind Profit after getting a fair way back in the run. Saves his best for this track and finds a winnable race IMO.

6 Warp Speed (Bet Now: $13.00) is on the seven day back up for Rob Heathcoate after racing at Toowoomba last Saturday where he got back off the speed and didn’t stop chasing but was clearly no match for Tamilaide, who has found that winning groove again. Likes Eagle Farm and is hard fit. First four threat.

9 Menazzi (Bet Now: $2.90) is a smart three year old for Stuart Kendrick that should prove hard to beat here. Resumed on his home track at the Sunny Coast where he was given a peach by Tiff Brooker. Just a matter of pushing the button from off the speed and once that eventuated, away he went and he was dominant. Proven in town prior, he’ll take beating here.

Michael Costa looks like he will be having fun and winning races with 1 Ocean Emperor (Bet Now: $3.70). First run for the stable came at the Gold Coast where he looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted in a dominant display. That was his first run in around a month so you’d like to think there is improvement to come.

Interesting that Chris Anderson scratched 2 Super Contender (Bet Now: $5.00) can bounce back. Chris Waller trained mare that resumed several weeks back where she was well specked late in betting but just got too far out of her ground and despite being okay late, she was never really a threat. Has solid overall form so want to give her another chance.

I don’t think it’ll be a track gallop for 1 Gypsy Goddess (Bet Now: $2.00), but it’s hard to tip against her. Exciting prospect for David Vandyke that is 4/4 to start her career, ending last prep with an arrogant Grand Prix win, which secures her spot for the Oaks, whether it be in Sydney or Brisbane. Trials have been good and she does have a clear class edge.

3 Southern Stock (Bet Now: $6.00) is a talented animal for Chris Munce that has more upside than most and should love the rise in trip. Resumed over 1400m on the Poly at the Sunny Coast where he got back in the run but loved the way he closed off late to get up and win. Fitter and up in trip, he’ll take beating.

2 Military Gambler (Bet Now: $8.00) is a ripper for Chris Munce that is knocking on the door to win one. Loomed to win three weeks ago at the Sunny Coast but just couldn’t quite finish it off, finishing a narrow second to Red Wave. Finding it hard to win but is certainly not far away.

8 Good Bean (Bet Now: $4.20) on top. Barry Baldwin trained three year old that bumped into a smart one on debut at Ipswich when second to Preach. He then went to the Poly at the Sunny Coast where he was smashed in betting and bolted up. Good test here, but confident he measures up.

6 A Call From Heaven (Bet Now: $6.00) has her share of talent for Tony Gollan. Runner up in her first two career outings. She then went to Doomben where she was there to be run down but found plenty under pressure to fend off Sacred Oath, with nearly five lengths to the third horse, and I think that form will hold up here.

1 Legal Esprit (Bet Now: $5.50) is on the seven day back up for Donald Baker after racing last Saturday over 1100m at Toowoomba. He tried his guts out, like he always does, but just couldn’t make up the ground behind a talented animal, Prince Of Boom. I think 1300m is ideal and like he backs up.

9 Aidensfield (Bet Now: $5.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Team Hayes, she now finds herself with Desleigh Forster. They tried her to be a 1400m-1600m horse, but I just think she is best suited being trained as a sprinter. Loved her Deagon trial win and although 1000m is a tad on the short, she does bring class.

4 Osamu (Bet Now: $2.20) has an awful winning strike rate but he’s racing better than what it suggests. First official run for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp came a few weeks back at the Sunny Coast where he didn’t quite get the rub of the green in the straight and should have finished a touch closer behind Shamrock Lu. He can win if luck goes his way.

5 Reality (Bet Now: $17.00) can be hit and miss but his best is certainly good enough to be around the mark. Resumed in an 800m scamper at Ipswich and that sort of set up, especially on wet ground, is clearly not to his liking. Much better suited here I feel and from gate one, with the claim, he only runs well.

6 Contemptuous (Bet Now: $3.10) is a beauty for the O’Dea/Hoysted camp that resumes after a fab Spring prep, which saw the five year old win 3/3 and establish himself as a proper Saturday class horse, potentially on the verge of blacktype. Led and throttled down in a Doomben trial, but his race day record speaks for itself.

4 Gogol (Bet Now: $4.80) is flying for Les Kelly. On the back up after racing last Saturday at Toowoomba where the market took a real set against him and it was proven correct as he could only manage a third to Vinco after seemingly getting every chance. That was his first run in a few weeks though, so you’d think there is improvement to come.

8 Starla (Bet Now: $15.00) deserves another chance. Chris Waller trained mare that comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since the Triscay at Randwick where she didn’t fire behind Snapdancer, but the track had juice in it and the winner walked them in front. Much better suited here and has class.

17 Caffrey (Bet Now: $4.40) is bursting to win a race for Desleigh Forster. Four weeks between runs since racing at Doomben where he loomed to win but just couldn’t quite dash quick enough when second to Cracker Essgee. I’d love to see him at a mile but 1400m at Eagle Farm looks an ideal set up.

13 Charretera (Bet Now: $10.00) commands respect. Resumed over 1200m at Ipswich where he was wide early but slotted into a lovely spot and once he was popped into clear air, class got him home and he was too good. Good second up record and has more upside than most here.

14 Red Bloom (Bet Now: $27.00) is a Team Sears trained mare that comes here four weeks between runs since finishing close up at Doomben behind a handy mare in The Lioness. Tick over trial earlier this week wasn’t a bad piece of work and she should get a lovely suck run from the draw.
