Taking a chance with 6 Chorlton Lane (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who makes his Australian debut for Maher/Eustace. He had two career outings in the UK, creating such an impression on debut at Newcastle in the UK on the Synthetic. He’s had a couple of jumpouts at Cranbourne to get ready for start one down under and potentially, he could have lengths on these.

1 Plundering (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been up a little while but is holding his form really well. He has been runner up his past two, two back being at Randwick before going here where he loomed to win and for the most part, was the winner, but couldn’t quite get there when second to Attractable. Hard to knock the way he’s racing and is one of the hardest to beat.

8 Baroque Road (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. That is what eventuated at Warwick Farm last time and he gave a strong kick but just couldn’t quite get there, run down late by the above average Step Aside. The end of 1300m is a slight knock with him but with a good time of it on speed, he’ll give a decent sight.

1 Semana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a straight bat option for the Maher/Eustace camp. Four weeks between runs since attempting to lead throughout at this track/distance and credit to her, she tried her guts out but just couldn’t quite finish it off and was nabbed late by Resonator. The break between runs I don’t mind, especially with this stable, and with her racing style, she’ll give herself every chance.

3 Mascaret (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver here for Chris Waller IMO. Former French mare that made her Australian debut over 1300m here a fortnight back where she was kept quite safe in betting, getting back in the run and found the line well enough against the pattern behind stablemate Vienna Princess. Fitter, up in trip, she only runs well.

4 One Aye (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a mare who is certainly talented enough to run a positive race. Just found them a bit sharp fresh in the Luskin Star behind Opal Ridge before going to Randwick five weeks back where she was back and never a factor when down the track behind Mirra View. I dare say she is being prepped up for a potential Country Cup with Big Dance eligibility, but her best is good enough to be dangerous here.

6 Oakfield Waratah (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can measure up here for sure. Kristen Buchanan trained gelding that steps out of Midway grade but the depth here looks a bit thin IMO. The last start win was a Midway but he was quite dominant I thought and the form around it is strong with Miss Faberge running second, who has Aristonous form. Think he’s worth a throw at the stumps.

4 Vintage Choice (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should prove hard to beat against these. He was kept pretty safe in betting at odds when racing here two weeks ago. He attempted to lead throughout under McEvoy and credit to him, he gave a solid kick but just couldn’t quite finish it off and felt the pinch late when fourth to Attractable. Fourth up, so should be hard fit now, lands near the front and will give a decent sight.

9 Mystic Mermaid (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds. She was a notable drifter in betting when resuming at the midweeks on the Kenso at Randwick, but Nash rode her with intent early in sending her forward, suggesting she was there to run well, but the market knew and she tired late to finish down the track behind Allasandra. Fitter, up in trip, more patient steer, she can run a much improved race.

18 Miss Faberge (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is bursting to win a race. John Sargent trained filly that has been up a little while but is seemingly holding her form superbly. She ran two weeks ago in the Midway here where she got a beaut sit in transit under Collett and presented to win the race in the straight but couldn’t quite get there when second to Oakfield Waratah. Form around her is super and she’ll be strong late.

2 Soami (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a hard horse to catch at times but I think he is sneaky flying for David Pfieffer. He ran a fortnight back over 1300m here in a solid 78 for the boys and I’d be very forgiving of the run given not much went right for him in the straight and he should have finished much closer. Back to Midway grade, maps ideally, good form around him, he appeals.

4 Burning Need (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is sneaky flying and is in with a shout here. She ran in the Oakfield Waratah Midway from two weeks back here where she was back near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, I didn’t mind the way she found the line late in the piece. Has the potential to settle much closer in the run and is good enough to take this out.

8 Salire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has an awful racing pattern but brings the metro form, which usually stands up in Highway races. That run came at the midweeks at Warwick Farm and I thought he found the line really well behind Deep Expectation, beaten just over two lengths. He’ll likely be spotting them a start but will be stronger than most late.

3 Mogo Magic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Scott Collings trained gelding that is unbeaten and resumes, and with Kosciuszko tickets just gone on sale, you’d think he’s here on the shop front window to make a statement. Just one run when last in work, scoring an impressive Highway win at Randwick back on Feb 25. Bolted up in a recent Goulburn trial and to my eye, is wound up to go.

10 Master Joe (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a short course speed demon, which is a perfect set up for the Rosehill 1100m. He has won his past two, bolting up over 900m at Goulburn before going to 1000m there where he wasn’t the best to begin but was able to hunt forward and fought on strongly to fend them off and win. The end of 1100m is the query but with the Rosehill 1100m, his jump/run set up will give him every chance to see it out.

2 Wingardium (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is certainly good enough with her best. Bjorn Baker trained filly that resumed at the midweeks at Warwick Farm where I thought she seemingly had every chance under J Mac but didn’t fire in the straight and was a bit on the plain side behind Omni Man. Has that run under the belt and is a second up winner, so don’t dismiss her.

5 Tintookie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a filly that is showing good talent for Brad Widdup. She resumed in the Brudenell race from a fortnight back here where she was dragged back to near last in the run from the wide gate and spotted those in front too much head start but you had to like the way she found the line to finish third. If she’s within range on the turn, she has the finale to overhaul them.

9 Euros (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. She resumed two weeks back at this track/distance where she was just off the speed from the inside gate and battled away pretty well in defeat when fourth, beaten just over a length. Has good upside to come, good racing style…must for multiples I’d suggest, especially at the Rosehill 1100m.

Hard to get away from 2 Fawkner Park (Bet Now:  $SP.00). Unbeaten since arriving from the UK, the latest win coming over 2000m here two weeks ago where he was held up in the straight but eventually got clear and went through the gears late to win quite well. He’ll have no issue with 2400m IMO, he gets in well after the claim, clearly rates highly.

3 Naval College (Bet Now:  $SP.00) won at the trip in the UK and he’s racing like he will eat it up. Annabel Neasham trained import that ran third to Fawkner Park here a fortnight back and he did a really good job from on speed, bit one paced but kept on and was close up in defeat, running third. He’s now had 2000m runs under the belt so the rise to 2400m should be fine. Hard to beat.

6 So United (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it for GaiBott. That win came over 2100m at Warwick Farm where I thought the ride from McLucas was a peach, sitting just near the speed before getting full momentum on the turn and he maintained a safe margin to the line. 2400m, I think, will be fine, and strikes a winnable race.

11 Bazooka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has won at the trip previously and the way he has returned, the rise to it now seems ideal. He ran over the mile at Randwick three weeks ago and I thought was pretty good from off the speed when a closing fourth to Democracy Manifest, beaten just over a length. Third up so should be hard fit now, can settle closer and still be effective late.

13 Vienna Princess (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be in for a really good prep. Caught the eye fresh at Randwick behind Mirra View before proving that was no fluke with a dominant win here a fortnight back against the Mares, somewhat defying the pattern and was actually quite dominant late. Room for improvement, down in the weights and has good upside.

1 Zoushack (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has a good record at Rosehill and does have a bit of quality on his side over some of these. Three weeks between runs since racing over 1300m at Randwick where he was getting a suck run behind the speed and was there to threaten but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Lady Of Luxury. Like him up in trip and the depth here, overall, isn’t deep.

2 Deficit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given another look. He ran last Saturday at Randwick where he was wide no cover for the trip and the run told, tiring late to finish down the track. Senior jock on now, back on the home deck and back in grade/depth, he appeals to bounce back.

8 Maurice’s Medad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run a much improved race for Bjorn Baker. This four year old did a really good job against the pattern fresh behind Robusto. He then went to Rosehill again where not much went right from the inside gate so be forgiving of the run behind Attractable. Hard fit now and getting a rise in trip, he has the touch of class to take this out.

3 Kirkeby (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds. Chris Waller trained gelding that resumed here four weeks back where he was no hope the way the track played and that is how it played out, finishing down the track behind Robusto. Tick over trial last week was a pretty good piece of work and he has a solid second up record, so I wouldn’t be dismissing him. Knockout hope.

Staying at 1300m is a slight query with 6 Cosmic Minerva (Bet Now:  $SP.00) but I think with a more positive ride, he can take this out. He resumed at this track/distance two weeks ago where he was dragged back to near last in the run from the gate and made up some headway against the race shape behind Garrison. Hopefully there is more intent this time around and with room for improvement, he rates highly.

5 Either Oar (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. She has placed her past two, both runs coming here. Latest run was over 1300m a fortnight back where she attempted to lead throughout and she did give a strong kick but had no answers late for a talented filly, Vienna Princess. Hard fit now, lands near the front, she’ll take running down.

3 Luvoir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a first four contender at a big price. He was specked at odds when resuming two weeks back at this track/distance where he didn’t get much luck from the wide gate and couldn’t get involved, finishing down the track behind Garrison. Might want one more and a rise in trip, but with a positive ride, I think he can run a much improved race.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 1 Semana

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 8 Salire
