6 Boomshanka (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a well bred filly for Tony Gollan that debuts. She trialled here a couple of weeks back and won the trial very nicely, albeit the margin was narrow. She won in decent time and seemingly had plenty up the sleeve. Market says she is the winner so happy to agree with it.

7 Making News (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of North Pacific that debuts for Tony Gollan. This girl trialled here a couple of weeks back and seemed to move well enough to my eye when second, having something in the locker. Stable are flying with their juveniles so watch betting.

5 Idyllic Affair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice filly for Lee Freedman. She was big odds when debuting two weeks ago at Eagle Farm and off a hot speed, she worked home with real purpose late in the piece when second to Dushenka. Better for the run and only had one trial leading in so she has upside/improvement.

2 Lionel… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) this is last chance or he needs to head back to Victoria to be a jumper. I was keen on him two weeks ago at Eagle Farm, the market push was strong, and in the run, he looked the one, but when asked for the effort, gee he was one paced. Hard fit now…it’s D-Day IMO.

7 Chassagne (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be humming for the Neasham/Archibald camp and is one of the leading contenders. She resumed over the mile at Eagle Farm a fortnight back where she got a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up headway and was good in defeat. Better for the run, she takes beating.

4 Binding (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is suited up in trip for Team Freedman, two weeks between runs since racing over the mile at Eagle Farm where she found them a bit sharp but was good late in the piece. Better set up here, with upside, I am not penning her.

7 Commandment (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is capable with her best. David Vandyke trained mare that ran behind Torabella two weeks back. She attempted to lead throughout and tried hard but just felt the pinch late. I think ridden with a sit, he can be more effective and take this out.

4 Thesecondatportsea (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through a track/distance race from last Wednesday where she just got too far out of her ground but did make up headway and was a pass mark for sure. She has been knocking on the door to win for some time and strikes a winnable race.

5 Tambourine Man (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on speed and run a positive race. He attempted to lead throughout at Ipswich last time, giving a sight from on speed and just tired late when down the track behind Master Copy. If he gets front end control, he’ll run an improved race.

2 Torabella (Bet Now:  $SP.00) to measure up here for Tony Gollan. She has been up a little while but is flying and holding her form really well. Dominant win at Eagle Farm a fortnight back, getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and knuckled down strongly late to win and win well. Hard to beat.

3 Cunnamulla Fella (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should appreciate a rise to the mile after racing two weeks ago over 1400m at Eagle Farm. He got a fair way out of his ground but really liked the way he closed off late in the piece. More positive ride up in trip, he takes beating.

4 Tenzing (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1400m two weeks back at Eagle Farm. He was near last in the run and was never a winning contender, but his late splits in defeat was pretty good. Better set up here, he’s an improver at odds.

5 The Fixer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will land on the bunny and take running down. He ran over 1200m at the Sunny Coast last time when on speed, copping heat in front and did give a good kick but just felt the pinch late when nabbed on the peg. If he gets less pressure on speed this time, he’ll be around the mark.

10 All Stashed Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous if within range on the turn. She got too far back last time at Eagle Farm and while she was never really a winning threat, she did make up ground and was pretty good in defeat. If she can get a drag into the race, she can finish over the top.

9 Tarps (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has good early speed and a gate to settle handy and be dangerous, as seen at Ipswich last start when leading throughout and was much too good. Good test here, but back to 1110m is a big tick and is down in the weights.

3 Fukubana (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the best horse in the race I feel and he is another for Matty Dunn that could flex here with eyes towards the Country Championships. He ran two weeks ago at Eagle Farm when first up. He got back and worked home well enough in defeat I thought behind About To Explode. Fitter and up in trip, he takes beating.

16 Red Defcon (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a good mare and it’s actually surprising she has only won the two races. She ran a fortnight back at Eagle Farm when off speed and held up but got clear and was good late when second to About To Explode. She’s had a few runs at 1200m now and the rise to 1350m will be ideal.

4 No Name Frank (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to be included in exotics. He has been kept on ice, having not raced since Boxing Day at the Sunny Coast when on speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through behind Streak Of Winning. Good racing style and does seem best suited on the fresh side.

7 Kingdom Underseige (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is hard to beat. Matty Dunn trained three year old that had his first run for the stable at Ballina where he looked a moral on paper and duly saluted, bolting up and winning quite comfortably. Good test here straight to town, but I think he goes pretty good.

8 Just Precious (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes to town for Stuart Kendrick after resuming at the Sunny Coast where she gave them a start and a beating, and despite being $1.16, the win had plenty of merit. She has upside/scope and form around her from last prep reads well.

9 Ready To Schipp (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs for the Edmonds/McLean camp since racing in the Sunlight Consolation where she was back near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up good headway and was a pass mark for sure. Fitter, can settle closer, hard to beat.

5 Slippin Jimmy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a ripper for David Vandyke and with home track advantage, he rates highly. He resumed in the Country Cup at the Gold Coast, leading throughout and he gave nothing else a look in to win quite impressively. Good upside to come, good racing style, he takes beating.

1 Dream Hour (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is knocking on the door and strikes a winnable race here for Kris Lees, his latest run seeing him finish second two weeks ago at Eagle Farm. He got off speed and sliced his way through, driving hard late but just found one better in Golden Decade. Hard fit, found positive form, rates highly.

14 Ivan’s Hero (Bet Now:  $SP.00) can run an improved race at odds. He ran two weeks back at Eagle Farm and failed to fire a shot when running last behind Golden Decade after seemingly getting every chance in transit. His best is good enough so don’t dismiss him.

12 Tribeca Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00), I dare say, has eyes on the Country Championships, but I think he has been trialling enormous and can resume with a win for Matty Dunn. He is first up, having not raced since Oct 19 when contesting The Kosciuszko and didn’t disgrace himself in defeat behind Far Too Easy. Spelled, trialled up sharply and this is a winnable kick off point.

10 Russian Alliance (Bet Now:  $SP.00) commands respect for Kevin Kemp after contesting the F&M Magic Millions race at the Gold Coast when off speed and kept chasing in a really good effort in defeat I thought behind impressive winner Miss Roumbini. She’ll be spotting them a start but be strong at the end.

2 Coin Toss (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with GaiBott, he is now with Tom Dougal. His best is more than good enough to give this a shake despite being better suited over further. No public trials, so guessing re fitness levels, but watch betting.

5 Mintaka Lad (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and is one of the hardest to beat. He resumed two weeks ago at Eagle Farm when off speed and worked home with purpose when a close up second to Amore Veloce. Fitter, likes Doomben, rates highly.

18 Miss Bayles (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a leading contender. She has been kept on ice since Dec 21 at Eagle Farm when back in the run and made up good headway in defeat I thought behind Addriel. Does race best on the fresh side and should be strong late.

14 Volcanic Love (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Scott Henley trained gelding that comes here a few weeks between runs since racing over 1200m at Coffs. He got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway when second. Has eyes on the Country Championships so you’d think there is intent here and can win.
