1. Proxima Dea (19)
56kg
J: Zac Lloyd
T: David Payne
Proxima Dea does look the most obvious. Unbeaten for David Payne, she was arrogant in the Spring Champion when beating the boys, with Stormy Marco franking the form in the Derby on Saturday. The query with her is 2500m…I am not 100% sold she will run it and she is a filly who doesn’t exactly put races away. She is a line finder though and beware the unbeaten horse.
2. Icelady (4)
56kg
J: Ethan Brown
T: Ciaron Maher
Led and had her chance in the Wakeful but was a tired horse in the straight when third. I think she is way too short.
3. Quick Finish (5)
56kg
J: Jye McNeil
T: Tony & Calvin McEvoy
I thought she ran very well in the Derby but was no match late for Stormy Marco. Like her back to her own sex…she is in the mix.
4. De Armas (1) (NZ)
56kg
J: James McDonald
T: Chris Waller
The Wakeful has always been THE form race for the Oaks and I am going to side with De Armas in what does look a clear two horse race. She was an impressive winner of the Wakeful, trucking into the race and was bolting before being clicked up by Shinn and away she went. I think 2500m is okay for her and is hard to beat.
5. Voynichese (7)
56kg
J: Declan Bates
T: Nick Olive
Thought she was sneaky good in the Wakeful…doubt she wins but can run first four.
6. Salann (12)
56kg
J: Ms Rachel King
T: Ben Brisbourne
Salann is on track. She ran third in the Vase where she got off speed and did seemingly have her chance but she kept chasing and finding the line in defeat behind True Rebel. 2500m looks ideal, back to Fillies grade…she’s dangerous.
7. Churchill Rose (10)
56kg
J: Craig Williams
T: Andrew Gluyas
Stable knows what it takes to win a big race at Flemington but I am not sold on her running 2500m, especially after the Wakeful.
8. Your Colour (14)
56kg
J: Blake Shinn
T: Chris Waller
She was awful in the Wakeful and the lead is J Mac jumping off to ride De Armas.
9. Joely (18)
56kg
J: Kerrin McEvoy
T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young

10. Expensive Taste (11)
56kg
J: Luke Currie
T: Tony & Calvin McEvoy
Didn’t do a bad job in the Geelong Classic and should be fine at 2500m but I think lacks the class.
11. Notified (15)
56kg
J: Jordan Childs
T: Archie Alexander
Notified is sneaky flying for Archie Alexander. She was never a factor in the Ethereal but she did find the line and wasn’t too bad in defeat. Think she’ll love getting to Flemington and should be strong at the end.
12. Refuse To Curtsy (13)
56kg
J: John Allen
T: Thomas Carberry

13. Nikitria (16)
56kg
J: Ben Melham
T: Clinton McDonald
Was okay in the Wakeful but not sold on her at 2500m.
14. Waiheke Rose (6) (NZ)
56kg
J: Jordan Childs
T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott

15. Tharwa (17)
56kg
J: Damian Lane
T: Chris Waller
Wasn’t too bad in the Wakeful and think she is the better of the chances between herself and Your Colour. First four threat.
16. Shameful Impulse (8)
56kg
J: William Pike
T: Rob Blacker
Sneaky good in the Wakeful. Will do no work in the run and I suspect will be strong at the end.
17e. Quynh (3)
56kg
J: Jamie Mott
T: Emma-Lee & David Browne
Not bad in the Wakeful but isn’t up to these.
18e. Little Ally Bama (2)
56kg
J: Ms Linda Meech
T: Andrew Bobbin
19e. Courting (20)
56kg
J: TBC
T: Tony & Calvin McEvoy
