Feehan Stakes Information

The Feehan Stakes, also known as the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes, is a Group 2 race held at Moonee Valley Racecourse in Victoria each year.

The Feehan Stakes (1600m) boasts a total prize pool of $500,000 and is run under weight-for-age conditions.

The Feehan Stakes 2026 will be run on September 25, 2026 at Moonee Valley Racecourse.

The Feehan Stakes was known as the ‘Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes’ from 2005 to 2018 before reverting back to the ‘John F. Feehan Stakes’ from 2019 onwards.

The race has a rich history and regularly attracts the top milers and horses that are have set bigger Spring Carnival plans which often include the Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate.
