Three time Grand National Steeplechase winner Bashboy may be retired immediately after owner Ian Macdonald was told his horse would not be allowed to race as a 13yo.
The rule is in place to reduce the safety risks of the horse, their rider and other participants despite the horse being sound and injury free.
With this ruling Bashboy would not be allowed to race on or after August 1st.
