The ATC Foundation has released a seventh round of grants totalling $205,000, with funding to successful applicants ranging in grants from $5,000 to $35,000.
In assisting the racing industry and community groups around the Club’s four racecourses, it brings a total of over $1.2 million distributed since the ATC Foundation was established in 2018.
“On behalf of the ATC Foundation Board and our Club and Members, I thank everyone who has donated or purchased special merchandise,” said the ATC Chair Angela Belle McSweeney.
“To allow us to continue such important work for so many diverse groups, the Board has also approved several two-year partnerships for funding aligned with key racing industry bodies.”
“In joining the National Jockeys Trust, Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy and Equine Pathways Australia we are inviting applicants of NSW charities to collaborate with the racing industry.’’
“Again, funds were raised through on-course donations and active charity events, sale of official Carnival pins plus the saddlecloth auctions from several of Group 1 Australian Turf Club races.”
Of the 2-Year Agreement recipients The Australian Racing Chaplaincy is $35,000 for supporting a Chaplain for Women in Sydney to attend a few meetings a week and a race meeting once a fortnight.
Equine Pathways Australia – $35,000 in further expansion of the NSW program and financial contribution towards SIS bi-monthly clinics at the RDA Centre at Box Hill.
The National Jockeys Trust – $10,000 towards funding their own Welfare Office resource who will provide for jockeys and their families with emotional and mental assistance.
In addition, The Deli Women & Children’s Centre – $15,000 for domestic violence counselling and casework for women who have been impacted by gambling violence in Randwick region.
The Black and White Committee – $10,000 through Vision Australia’s Children’s Services to provide a support and care for children with blindness and low vision and their families.
Windgap Foundation – $10,000 in upgrading the accessibility and safety of the shared bathroom in the residential group home in Sydney at Carlton Street, Kensington.
CanRevive Inc – $10,000 to support comprehensive educational program with a focus on Cognitive- Behavioural Therapy training, psychoeducational community talks, nutrition.
Project Kindness – $10,000 in the distribution of ‘Kindness Hampers’ groceries and essential household items and each one is packed to meet the requirements of the recipient.
Prince of Wales Foundation – $10,000 to seeking purchasing core equipment to advance eye care with the equipment becoming a permanent fixture in community clinics.
Association for Wellbeing of Children Healthcare – $10,000 in funding to recruit and train volunteers, and infrastructure for grandparents and young patients at Liverpool Hospital.
Learning Links – $10,000 for psychologists working with children suffering anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger management and poor social skills at the Oatlands Primary School.
Redkite – $10,000 to support parents and carers of children with cancer at Westmead Hospital by providing vital emotional support and connection to relevant support services.
An additional $5,000 each has been distributed to The Cornucopia Committee, Trustee for Centennial Parklands Foundation Steps, Nurture Nation Animal Sanctuary, Retreats Australia Ltd, Cancer Patients Foundation, Heartbeat of Football Foundation Ltd and the McGrath Foundation.
