He has had such an enigmatic career. He is quite brilliant, world class in fact on his day, but on other days, he digs his toes in when things aren’t 100% kosher.
In Abu Dhabi last night he was on his off day.
Or was it?
He jumped away with the field, copped a check immediately they all hit the ground and well, just said, ‘nope, I’m not chasing them after that.’
He simply refused to go.
It was in the Listed National Day Cup, and the now 8YO, began with them, but through no fault of his own was squeezed when runners inside and outside him merged together.
Out the back of the field, he just pulled up, standing stately and regally and watching them all run away, probably thinking, “you poor damn dumb fools.”
He has a checkered history of doing strange things at the gates.
